Reading Is Superficial Knowledge

Finn tilted his head and looked at Cody curiously. "I thought you of all people would understand it by now because of how much you read."

Ah, how to explain this…Just because Cody was well read didn't mean he could actually fathom the concepts behind what he was reading. No matter how much research he did, there were certain things he only had a base understanding of.

"Reading is superficial knowledge," he muttered. "To truly understand something you need to execute it yourself. Like Sarah. She wanted to understand how people worked so she started spending a lot of time with them after doing minimal research. She's done surprisingly well too. She's the most 'normal' of all of us."

"Then why haven't you done the same thing?" Finn asked.

"Because I don't particularly like people. They're tiring to deal with aside from you guys, Alex, and Claire. I'm sure you can understand that much."
