So Which One Was That?

Alex couldn't help but smile nostalgically as he heard Ray talk. Claire had cried for his situation too. She and Heather were both special in that way. There had to be a third person out there somewhere that could understand Cody.

He didn't seem so convinced. "How did she find out? How could you trust someone with that information?"

Ray laughed and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "That was sort of an accident. I was upset that she kept coming around when I was trying to forget about her and told her to ask my dad how we met. He was the first person I ran into after leaving and the only one that knew everything. I thought that would scare her off for good. It wasn't like she had any evidence even if she did tell anybody."

Cody nodded thoughtfully. "I suppose that's true. Still, that was quite a risk."

"It paid off though. I never would have imagined how things would turn out but I wouldn't change a thing. I love my life and my family."
