Back to the main road of Cales, Agatha is currently supervising the guards and members about locking down the city like Rhysius and Mikhail. Agatha comes towards one of the guards for the current situation.
"How is the lockdown procedures?" Agatha said.
"It is proceeding smoothly, Lady Agatha. Everyone here was very compliant, but it can only last for so long." one guard said.
"Like Rhysius said, we'll lessen it weekly that way it won't be too grueling."
"Reporting in!" one of the guards yelled. Agatha heard the yell and turned to the small group that went to the outside wall of Cales.
"Speak."
"We have seen two suspicious people coming from the sewage system and is possibly accomplices to the thief we're looking for." the guard said.
"Location?" Agatha said.
"Depending on the direction, they're heading eastward, to Servano." the guard replied. Agatha smirked.
"Good, I will head to Selris and bring reinforcements. That way, I can lure the culprit. Bring me a horse!" Agatha said.
Meanwhile, the thief is speeding through the woods with his black horse as he is heading towards Fynis. He soon saw the outer walls of Fynis and stopped his horse at the edge of the woods. The thief went ran to the outer walls on foot and jumped over it. The outer wall is at least 20 feet tall and he managed to scale it easily. As he is inside the city, no White Swans are in sight, not yet at least. He sees the same man out on the balcony of his manor, but between them is anxious guards and citizens. He also saw that he is wanted as well.
"That's five times when I last went here. Gotta be quick though." he pondered. The thief turned into a black mist and merged into the ground. He then began moving through the shadows, slithering through the shadows like a snake. He reaches the other side of the road and in front of the gate and slithered through effortlessly to the front door and inside the manor. He then reverted back to his normal self and surprised the maids.
"Who are you!?" one of the maids gasped.
"Wait, I am here for the guy who bought the diamonds." the thief said "I also have this necklace too."
"S-stay back!" she yelled.
"Calm yourself." the man said, walking to the top of the stairs with his wife at his side "You actually came. Although, you look concerned."
"I can't stay long. I found her necklace." the thief said.
"My necklace...where'd you find it?" the woman gasped.
"In one of those mini vaults. I found it by chance." the thief replied, pulling out the necklace from the bag and let it dangle from his hand. The butler came and grabbed it and looked closely.
"This design is definitely hers. The payment is 6 million Qieras. Bring in the suitcase." the butler said.
"6 million!? This is greater than what the man gave me for the diamonds!" the thief shouted internally. The butlers came to the hallway with a cart that holds a suitcase and opens it. Numerous of coin cylinders that amounts to 100,000 Qieras each. The thief puts his duffel bag forward and began to quickly stuff them in.
"It's a pleasure doing business with you all." the thief said hastily.
"Of course, but I must ask. Where will you be heading?" the man said.
"Anywhere but here. However, I'll be heading east. Why?"
"If you happen to find Algra Onyxthorn, be sure to give him this letter and do not let the White Swans nor the Luster Order intercept. If in the event of that were to happen, destroy it." the man said throwing it to the thief. The thief catches it as he finished putting the coins in the bag and zipped it tight. He also put the letter inside his inner pocket.
"I'll make sure of it." said the thief, but as he turned around, he feels a deep chill run through his body, a sense of terrible dread. The thief turned around to see who's giving such an aura, but it seems that they're affected too. A door was slammed open and it was one of the maids.
"Priestess Izanna has entered Fynis! Along with Elric Achrome!" she yelled.
"I'll try to get to him, but no promises." the thief said. The thief walked out of the front door where the people began to flock to the priestess with admiration. The thief jumped over the gate with his bag and began walking briskly.
"Priestess Izanna has arrived! Praise the light that shine upon us!" one of the citizens said.
"The light shall guide us!" more cheers were filling the city. Izanna and Elric exited the carriage and waved to interact with the crowd.
"I assume you're aware that there is a criminal afoot, correct?" Izanna said. The crowd agreed and wanted him brought to justice.
"Fear not, I will make sure he doesn't escape." Izanna proclaimed. Izanna began floating upwards and began emitting red and blue aura around her. The crowd gaze upon her in complete awe. She then created a shockwave throughout the city a wave of red and blue waves go through the masses and the buildings and yet nothing was misplaced. Moment later, the auras of the citizens came forth with many shades of blue. Elric to no surprise had blue aura emitting from him as well.
"This is her Alignment magic. If any of the Onyxthorns were to have any other Lost Magic, she'd be in danger. Even more so if Igris was still alive." Elric pondered, relieved that Igris is dead that he was a being comparable to a disaster. In history, Evirae slew Igris in a battle that lasted until dawn rises. Evirae was victorious, but the cost of her victory was her life. The Black Fang faction's influence was crippled despite Igris's son, Razeul Onyxthorn became the head.
The shockwave continued to progress and it soon hit the thief. He began emitting red aura around him. The crowd noticed him glowing red. One of the citizens recognize him.
"Hey, I recognize him. He's the thief who robbed the bank from gold!"
"He stole my gemstones from my shop!"
More voices add in to the conversation which made Elric notice, but Izanna already pinpointed his location.
"Shit." the thief cursed under his breath and became black mist which shocked the masses.
"He's a Darkness user! A demon!" one citizen screamed.
"How did he get here!? Are we in danger!?"
"Mama! I'm scared!"
Panic ensues as he goes over the outer wall of Fynis, ignoring the panicked screams. He reverted to normal mid-air and rolled on the ground to run towards the horse, but the horse wasn't there. He whistled to call him, but no response. He whistled again, but still no response. The thief became concerned and continued running.
"C'mon, buddy, give me a sound." the thief said, whistling again. A neigh was heard, but it wasn't a pleasant one. The thief ran to the direction he heard and he finds his black horse fending a few White Swans off. His black horse neighs and kicks them away as they tried to take him away.
"This horse is very loyal to its owner. Whoever trained it is no ordinary horse rider." one member said.
"It'll be a waste to kill it." another member shrugged. He suddenly hears rapid footsteps in the distance which made him to turn around and look, but at the time he turned, two black boots was close in his face.
*WHAM!!*
The thief dropped kicked the member directly in the face, knocking his body backwards with such force.
"Dammit!" the other member yelled, he quickly unsheathed his sword, but the horse behind him kicked him at the back of his head, knocking him unconscious as well. The thief looked at his horse in appreciation from the assist. The horse sputtered and walked towards the thief.
"Nice assist, buddy. Let's get out of here." the thief said to the horse as he climbed on with his bag.
"There he is! Stop him!" one of the member yelled in the distance along with many more coming with. The thief turned around with his horse, cracked the reins, and the horse began running. However, a blue magic circle appeared and erupted a wall of blue light. The horse whined and stood on its hind legs. The thief tried to compose his horse, but was knocked off balance. The thief rolled back from his saddle and landed on his feet where the bag dropped hard.
"Damn, this is real sloppy..." the thief said.
"You've been quite an elusive one. We would be chasing a ghost due to your nomadic tendencies." Izanna said, gently floating downwards and landing beside Elric who walked. "To think you'd come to Fynis knowing your notoriety there. Is it your greed or your act of surrendering?"
"Well now, a flying magic user and it ain't a Wind user. I'd be lying if I said it's a good thing." the thief said as he shrugged and picked up the bag and hung it over his shoulder. "I was getting ready to leave after I done with my business. Mind looking the other way?"
"Well, I know a perfect place where you'll never leave." Izanna said in a calm tone where behind it means differently. Obviously, the thief already knew what she meant.
"Tempting, but no. But I have a parting gift." the thief said and whistled five times, one long whistle and four short whistles. For a short moment an explosion occurred in Fynis and screams were heard in the distance. The explosions were powerful enough to shake the ground which disoriented the members.
"Priestess Izanna! The people could be trapped from the rubble!" one of the members said. The thief pulled out a gray ball the size of his palm and threw it on the ground. The ball exploded into a plume of smoke to obscure vision and jumped back on his horse to begin sprinting.
"I gotta get to the open field. That Izanna chick's magic would be hard to dodge if I remain here." the thief thought to himself. In that thick smoke, a beam of yellow light shot forth and as the thief saw it behind him and coming fast, he steered his horse on the left and the beam hit the tree. The tree exploded into many splinters and the rest of that tree fell.
The one who fired it at a range is Elric who emerged from the smoke.
"Elric, I will give chase, you will help the masses." Izanna said.
"Okay. Bring her a horse." Elric said to a fellow member, but Izanna interjects.
"No need, I have a better form of transportation." Izanna said. She puts her hand out and her eyes shined blue. Meanwhile, at the carriage, it begins to rattle. Some of the member heard the rattling and walked behind it and it was the trunk that was rattling.
The the trunk inside begins to glow and rattle as if something inside is alive, trying to break free. The members knew exactly what will happen.
"Priestess Izanna is summoning her staff! Get clear!" the member yelled and the rest backed away before the trunk gives way.
The staff broke free, tearing the trunk from its hinges and flew into the forest in a streak of light. Back to Izanna, the staff reaches to her destination and gently floats into her hand. This staff is a silvery white staff with intricate engravings and at the top are ribbon-like designs that hold the crystal ball in a spiraling direction. Izanna floats up again and gave chase.
Meanwhile, the thief is sprinting through the forest on his black horse with all he's got. Looking back, he managed to get a head start and is confident that he'll escape if he keeps going at this pace. Thinking back in his 15 years of crime, he never encountered a lost magic user, much less heard lost magic itself. Additionally, the people in Fynis were glowing in shades of blue where he was glowing red, yet he never heard of Izanna until recently. However, it matters little to him now since his focus is to escape to Servano.
A low sounding boom is heard and the red-blue shockwave came to the thief which made him glow red again. He looked back and sees that Izanna is catching up to him quickly.
"No way, I gained enough distance to escape! You caught up to me that quick!?" the thief said, baffled. The thief looked cracked the reins again. Though Izanna was too far to hear his exclamation, Izanna raised her staff and summoned a red and blue magic circle above it and a large blue ball of energy appears. The thief saw the blue glow hitting the foliage and looks back to see that the ball of energy is coming forth.
"Oh shit!" yelled the thief and within that moment, he used his Dark magic to turn himself and his horse to a black mist and began moving faster than usual. Despite that, the giant ball hits the ground and exploded into a blue light, destroying the trees in the process. The thief and the horse managed to avoid it and summoned a clone of themselves to go in the opposite direction to the plume of dust and smoke.
"I dunno about her magic, but here's hoping it works." the thief said internally. However, it failed. In that failure, five more orbs of blue light were fired upon him and he managed to dodge all four where the fifth one was bigger than all and couldn't dodge in time. For that, he fired his orb of darkness to intercept it where it resulted both attacks explode on contact.
"This should give me cover..." the thief said. Sighing of relief, but it was cut short where Izanna is much closer than he thinks.
"Did you truly think you could elude me with your clone?" Izanna said in his ear.
