22. Suspicious people

Li Na nibbled on her lips and from the corner of her eye, she saw Wang Weiming walking her way and smiled. Yes, this time she needs his help.

She hopped off of the chair where she was standing to see what they were doing and rushed out. But of course, just before she could reach him, she stumbled over her own feet and almost fell face forward onto the ground.

Luckily Wang Weiming was fast and caught her on time. "Stop running. You'll hurt yourself." He softly reprimanded her.

She just flashed a smile at him and shook her head. "Don't worry. I'll be fine. I need your help. I need something to be built. Today."

He sighed and nodded. "If it's not too big."

Li Na nibbled on her lips. "It's small, but it's made out of metal plates. Or stones. I'll show it to you."

She used a small stick and started sketching an oven on the floor. As she explained he just nodded. "Good. It will be done soon."

It was late afternoon in his world and almost dinner time. Li Na had breakfast and lunch with her parents. So the only dinner was left before she arrived.

So until the baking oven is done, it will be night. She felt sorry to everyone and planned to give the makers a gift for it.

Wang Weiming looked at the big round moon that didn't stop shining throughout the day and got worried. What if she still chooses to go back home? There is still time.

On the other hand, Li Na was busy. She took the flour and started making dough for cookies.

As they never saw such ingredients, they could only see her busy hands kneading the dough again and again.

Tiny drops of sweat appeared on her forehead again and she just casually wiped it off with her sleeve, leaving white mark from the flour.

But she didn't notice anything and continued kneading. After she made five different kinds of dough's, she let them stand still for a while.

"Is there a cold room or something like that? This dough needs to cool down a bit." She pointed at it and saw the main cook appointing a few servants and pointing at one of the doors.

She shook her head. ''I'll bring it."

In wonder, he saw the small girl going towards a cooling room with a tray of doughs. The main servants helped her bring it in.

She looked at the nearest servant and spoke seriously. "Stay here and don't let anyone inside. No matter what. No one has the right to touch it without my permission."

Her words were whispered and the servants understood. She must have found someone strange or not trustworthy. But who?

All servants on the estate were under the death contract. Which one of them had the wish to die?

Two of the main servants stood by the door and looked at the surroundings with their cold eyes. The cook winced. What is this about? Could it be?

Living in this world everyone had a healthy amount of suspicion towards everyone. So he swept his eyes carefully over the people and saw two people in the corner. They were family members of the old cook that went home.

He asked for them to stay and now many dots suddenly connected. He had already felt that something was wrong, but couldn't pinpoint what. The cook's eyes turned towards the little girl and he smiled. Yes, women have certain instincts.

At the same time, Wang Weiming saw the things happening inside and narrowed his eyes. In his short life, he already met so many people that were bothersome. He always felt safe in this household as his mother and grandmother were not less stubborn and headstrong than men.

And women had that special trait. They could somehow feel the danger in advance. What kind of life did this child have to learn how to feel that? His eyes became dark. It seems that the other world is as dangerous as this one.

But he can't protect her there. If he could ask her to stay here, he could do so many things so she can live comfortably...

He shook his head. It seems not even his household is safe enough. He must become stronger. To be able to protect this weak girl, he must become much stronger.

So far he went to the army as he found it less boring than other options. But it was still halfheartedly. Now... now he has a real reason to become a powerful protector.

His inner power suddenly moved and he blinked in surprise. A heavy hand patted his shoulder. "Everyone has a different reason to open up their own energy. Your reason is she, isn't it?"

General Wang stood next to him and looked at the busy child in the kitchen. Like a small bee, she hummed from one side to the other and sighed. "She is just this little, but her true nature will come out slowly. I fear she will be the same as your grandmother."

The child had calmness in her bearing and at the same time strength to order people around. "Too bad your mother and grandmother are so against her joining the army. She would be an amazing general."

The two men looked at each other and started laughing as she really stood there and made servants do it quickly. The cooks and servants rushed here and there under her orders, but it all had its own sense.

Suddenly a shadow approached them and stood right next to the General. "So this is the girl?"

General Wang sighed and glanced at the dark expression Wang Weiming had. "Sorry... I gave him a cookie last time and told him she made them on days of the full moon..."

He already knew how impatient this old geezer was, as he would often ask when is the next full moon. At least he didn't come when she arrived.

"Your Majesty, could you stop randomly appearing in my household. And while you are here, do not try to scare the child. She might sound like a strong person, but she is actually a tiny person." General Wang pointed at the tiny pink dot in the kitchen.

"Don't worry. I know what to do." The Emperor smiled brightly and completely ignored Wang Weiming's icy stare.
