Chapter 490: The master of this manor

What was it? What was it about him that unnerved her so much? Who was this man? She wondered, biting through her headache. A kelpie? A wolf? had she come across him during her previous life? Whatever possibilities she could think of did not ring a bell, leaving her all the more confused. 

That was when the man leaned forward, extending a hand toward her. "Here, let me help you." Caliban offered, "I hope I haven't startled you."

"Ahh, thank you," Luna said, forcing a smile onto her face. "But I'm quite okay." She said, sliding away from his touch.

A slight frown flashed on his face at the refusal. But he was quick to hide it. Caliban retreated his hand, pushing it into the pocket of his loose dark trousers as he took a step back with a polite nod.
