Chapter 504: Who are you?

Aaron's POV

Every second of it was a struggle. The darkness. It blanketed every inch of his consciousness, muffling his cries and ignoring his protests. It came at him like thrashing waves, picking up pace in the expectance of a storm. 

It was bound to topple ships and drown soldiers. Yet he wanted to be stronger. No. He was stronger. He had to be. He had to be the one emerging victorious in this fight. 

There were more important things at hand outside this sea of raging darkness. There were too many things that he had left unfinished. He couldn't go under like this. But who? Who was he fighting with? He wondered. What was happening to him? 

All he could hear now was the swosh of the wind, beating against his flesh ferociously. He could feel his wounded body growing tired. The grit of the darkness was burning against the cuts like salt being rubbed against an open wound.
