''Oi, old man, you okay?'' Lyse asked while faintly remembering that he has never seen that old man at all. But since he was here, it meant that Haize knew the old man.
The old man stood up while bitterly cleaning his face that was full of tears, and said with a smile, ''Yes, it's just that I remembered my granddaughter, that's all. It's hard for an old man like me to survive nowadays...''
With a sigh, Lyse patted the old man's shoulder while feeling he truly is pitiful. His eyebrows twitched a bit, and he thought to himself, 'How come the two kiddos are exactly the same? They are not clones, are they?'
The siblings had the same expression of pity and the same action of patting his shoulder! The old man was almost driven crazy, and he suddenly thought, 'Now that I think about it... I don't how much time passed since I ever felt an emotional change. These brats truly are something else.'
He had been alone for too much time. Despite becoming the strongest, he was empty inside. The old man was an orphan, and so he had always longed for a family, but it was a pity that everything that comes, also goes.
There were not many things that could shake him, but time was one such thing. With the passage of time, his son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter died out of old age. Unfortunately, they couldn't achieve the same stage as him and obtain a long lifespan.
Looking towards Lyse, the old man suddenly found him similar to his own granddaughter. Of course, not his appearance, but his eyes, ''You remind me of my deceased granddaughter. Her eyes were just like yours, golden and full of hope and brightness.''
Lyse, hearing such a compliment, felt slightly embarrassed. Scratching the back of his head, he said, ''Well, I can only guess she was a very beautiful person. You must miss her a lot.''
Without waiting for the old man to respond, Lyse asked curiously, ''So, what's your name? I can't keep calling you old man, aight?''
''Xian Zi.'' The old man, now known as Xian Zi, said shortly. Lyse stared at him for a few seconds before saying with a small smile, ''Well, it seems that you're Chinese, right? I and my brother also have Chinese ancestry!''
Xian Zi pondered for a second, confused about what Chinese means. He didn't even know the language, they could only talk and understand each other because of the System's automatic translation. But going along with it, he said, ''Yeah, I'm a Chinese. I moved to this city a few years ago, because my granddaughter was fascinated by it.''
''Sure enough! Ottawa is a very good city, hn hn!'' Lyse nodded proudly continuously, and Xian Zi stared at him speechlessly.
Meanwhile, on the Moon.
A few meters just under the USA flag, a highly technological room was stationed. Inside it, two short grey-skinned humanoid figures could be seen. They were just around 1.4 meters in height, with a huge forehead, pointed ears, and round black-colored eyes.
Holographical images were floating in front of the two small grey humanoids, showing different positions on Planet Earth.
In an incomprehensible language, one of them said, ''Recently, our race seems to be in chaos. Apparently, this is happening all around the Galaxy, and even those other galaxies are in chaos as well. The time to check the humans' progress is near, want to check?''
They had been in this place for hundreds of years, monitoring Earth's situation. Speaking bluntly, they were watchdogs in humans' terms, but this wasn't without any benefit. In the eyes of the humans, an inferior race that couldn't even be considered a Tier 2 civilization, they were an existence akin to Gods.
There are quite a few requisites to be a civilization. The first was to be an intelligent race, the second one was to starting to develop technologically, and these were just the most basic requisites. Races that completed these first two requisites were deemed as a Tier 1 Civilization, and humans were one such race.
As for the little grey humanoids... Their race is a Tier 4 Civilization, one that has populated more than one Galaxy.
In their own race, they are just Inferior Elves, who barely inherited their race's characteristics. They are failed ''products'', deformed aberrations.
The two of them made a deal with two major countries, United States of America and China. Every now and then, they would send a few technological objects and help them deal with ''unnecessary existences''. While these two major countries seemed to hate each other, they were actually partners.
''While you were sleeping like the lazy idiot you are, I checked the situation of Earth already. Recently, they turned into complete chaos because monsters from an unknown place started pouring out of strange portals. A race that also seems to be humans also came from these portals.'' The other Inferior Elf said while frowning, seemingly surprised.
Not caring that he was insulted, the first Inferior Elf said lightly, ''Then why not just blast them with meteors? That would solve the problems, the humans were already destined to die, anyway.''
''If even you can think of that, I can too. It's just that this wouldn't be possible, not only the Planet size suddenly increased by more than ten times, but there are scary existences here. I estimate that there are a few hundreds of 5-Star, around a hundred of 6-Star, and dozens of 7-Star. Even if we send meteors, they can easily destroy it.''
''Huh?'' The Inferior Elf who suggested blasting Earth with meteors was shocked, as mere watchdogs who were deformed aberrations, they were just at 4-Star. There was a little seriousness in the Inferior Elf's eyes, and he said, ''Contact our race, then. If the Superior Elves are willing to take action, not only will Earth be reclaimed, but countless resources will be available!''
''We will be awarded great merits, and maybe even evolving our genes to correct our genetic defects is possible!'' He seemed a little excited, it was clear that this was their biggest scar. Afterwards, a 'beep-beep' sound was heard as their small hands flashed on a holographical keyboard with strange symbols.
They had contacted their race!
