Chapter 7: Where is Luffy ?

Several days later, Edam was just leisurely walking around the forest, sometimes sleeping on the branch of a giant tree, sometimes playing with the kind animals who didn't want to eat him and that he didn't want to eat too... mostly because they were too small to fill his beastly stomach in his case.

It seems like he was a kid loved by the nature itself as any animals ( that did not want to eat him that is...) that he tried to sincerely befriend would become friends with him.

The birds were singing their songs, deers were standing at the side, squirels were running then and there ,and foxes were sometimes rubbing their head on him or playing around him as he was sleeping in this peaceful forest. There was even a white giant wolf who was acting as a pillow for him as he was enjoying the soft fur of the magnificent wolf. The wolf's fur was soft and warm even better than any bed that he slept on until now, even his grandpa's bed wasn't as soft as this even though it was one of the best bed from the navy. It was so comfortable that sometimes it even occured to him to sleep till next day.

Apart from the singing sound of the birds and the playing sound of the animals, everythings was peaceful and quiet.

Even the two rabbits who he "trained" with, were around him, playing with the other animals.

In these passed days he became quite proficient in using what he came to called his "beast sense" that he trained with the help of the rabbits and some other animals who were fast.

The beast sense was really useful, so much that at a certain point he could walk in the forest with his eyes closed, he didn't really need his eyes now.

That was what he thought at first, however, he quickly discovered that using his beast sense to travel around the forest was really weary, using it to prevent surprise attacks didn't exhaust him at all, however using it continuously was what tired him the most.

Alas, moving in the forest with the eyes closed was not an options. At least not now.

He slept quietly on the big white wolf for about an hour before opening his eyes slowly.

During these past months, he already explored everything on this mountains and even beyond.

You could say that he now knew this mountain like the back of his hand and would never lose his way.

While he was exploring he even discovered the secret that Ace didn't want anyone to find out but was found out anyway.

When he found out, Edam released a long sigh while thinking ' Haaa..., They really are birds of the same flocks huh..." he thought helplessly when he recalled Luffy shouting every single damn days. " Ace wait, become my friend !!!" with a big and happy smile on his face while running after him.

'It should have been so frustrating for Ace...' he thought sighing a little.

He stood up from the wolf and stretch a little while saying goodbye to the small and the big animals.

"Goodbye you all, see you later." he said waving his hand at them and smiling a bit.

The beasts were really smart and quickly understand what he meant as they were always together in the past few days and then started to scatter away.

Edam then slowly looked at the sky which was darkening slowly but surely.

"Time to go home."

In a good mood he returned to the house while walking leisurely.

On the way, some hungry beasts had the bad idea to tried to kill him as he was alone and small. They obviously died without comprehending what happened to them.

Edam the reached the house while dragging a black tiger, a huge brown bear and a giant golden rooster.

When they saw him, the others happily greeted him while saying.

"Oh Edam how are you ?"

"What a huge catch, as expected from you."

"Welcome back, Edam."

At the beginning, the bandits didn't like that two other kids were living with them as that would mean less food from them.

However, during those months, Edam quickly made them feels respect for him as he had the strenght to be respected as well as the fact that he always brought back foods when he came back from the forest and then combined with Ace's catch, they weren't able to complain anymore as there wasn't anything to complain about.

They now had enough foods for everyone to eat as much they want to.

Putting aside what he caught, Edam entered the house and then suddenly Dadan came out of nowhere started to berated him from avoiding his chores. After an entire five minutes she then stopped her yell, letting him off as she herself returned to her business.

Edam seeing this then turned to Dogra and Magra and asked.

"Dogra, Magra where's Luffy he's not with you ?" Edam asked curiously.

"Ehh, he's not with you ?" Dogra said in doubt.

"We searched the entire forest but we didn't found him, so we thought that he was with you." Magra continued.

Everyday Luffy was running after him, sometimes he came back, sometimes he did not. So Magra, Dogra and Edam were always out there searching for him.

"You searched the entire mountain ?" Edam asked.

"Yeah, the whole mountain we didn't found a single traces of him and you know that he let a lot of traces." fear was slowly appearing on Dogra and Magra's face as they knew what would happened to them if Luffy was to die because of their carelessness, without talking to about the little monster right in front of them.

"Humm... strange..." Edam said with a hand holding his chin, wondering about where could he have gone to.

And then sudden thought passed through Edam's head as he then walked to the door.

"This idiot couldn't have gone there right ?" he murmured.

'No I'm certain that he has gone there...' he thought.

He stopped in front of the door and asked Dogra and Magra.

"Oy...is it the full Moon today ?" he asked without turning his head, his back facing them, his hand on the door's handle.

The moment he said that a strange and really tense atmosphere seemed to take place all of a sudden.

Dogra and Magra didn't understand why he said that but still replied " Humm... yes it's tonight, why ?" they asked puzzedly.

"Nothing, it just mean that I have to find him quick." saying that he step out of the house and rushed toward the forest.
