Preparation

"Now what do we need?"

Aurelia was searching in the basement, with Aranea and Elenea behind her.

They were already preparing for the things they need in the academy and Aurelia said that there were some things Aurelia and her family had during their stay in the academy.

Elenea read the paper that was together with the invitation as their mother was busy searching for the items needed in the basement.

"We need the following: one bestiary book, one alchemy book, notebooks, and a robe."

Aranea's eyes widened, not expecting that they only need a few things to bring in the academy.

"That's it?"

"Yes, actually. You don't need to bring much since each individual has their own spell. So if you think that an item is beneficial to your powers, then bring it and the academy will understand," Aurelia explained and Aranea nodded slowly, feeling worried as to what she needed because she doesn't have any powers.

"So I'll just bring myself an armor, then," Aranea mumbled, making Elenea and Aurelia look at her as if she said something stupid.

"Why?" they asked in unison and Aranea shrugged her shoulders as she answered.

"I don't know! What do I have? I only know archery," the girl answered, almost in a whisper but it was enough for her twin sister and Aurelia to hear, making their mother roll her eyes at Aranea.

"Don't choose an armor. You would look weird in the academy," she suggested as she opened one box to get a pink set of clothes and she handed it over to her. "Wear this. None of us wore it back then because it is revealing during our time. I think it will suit you once you enter the academy."

Aranea looked at the clothes given to her. It was indeed a beautiful pair of clothing! It looked like a Japanese kimono that was cut in half. The top looked like a fitted crop top with white flowes printed on it. To pair it nicely, the other is a skirt with white flowers printed on it as well. Seeing this, Aranea's eyes glistened in appreciation.

"I will look like an RPG character!"

Elenea giggled as she remembered that her twin sister loved playing video games, especially when its genre is RPG. Aurelia smiled as Aranea appreciated the clothes, when a thought suddenly flased in her mind.

"By the way, your bestiary books and alchemy books are on the shelf behind you. Get them and use it well. The books have been passed down even to me. You're the next ones to use it," their mother said proudly and the girls got their books, excited.

Elenea opened the bestiary book and saw a lot of beasts and also humans with information about them.

"We don't get to see these creatures in this world," she commented and Aranea looked at the bestiary book as well, astonished.

"Are we going to see them in the academy?" she asked and Aurelia nodded.

"Yes. Not only in the academy, but you will be visiting another world not present in our world. Sort of like what you guys call 'Harry Potter' magical world," she answered then Aranea flipped the book's page until it fell from Elenea's hands.

"Ah!"

"I'm sorry!"

Aranea apologized as she tried to pick up the book but she suddenly stopped when she felt a painful headache the moment she looked at the picture on the book.

"Nnngggh..."

Aranea held her head desperately as she sat on the floor, not knowing what to do. Aurelia looked at her, worried, as she sat down and touched her back.

"What's wrong?"

Elenea looked worried to see her sister that way until her eyes landed on the picture on the book.

It showed a person in an enormous blackish-blue armor. His face was well hidden by his helmet. He wore a dark purple cape, and his armor had a dragon's fang on each shoulder plate of his armor. There was even a dragon circling him as he held a mythril buster sword as big as his body.

Elenea picked up the book and closed it. Once she did, the headache Aranea felt stopped. With that, Aranea looked at the two, feeling scared.

"Wh-what... or rather, who is that?"

Aurelia looked at Elenea and wondered as well. Why did her child react that way when she saw who that person was?

"What you saw is one of the greatest enemies of the magical world for who knows how long. His name is Lavitz and up until now, he still lives. Not anyone knows his whereabouts but from time to time, he appears to wreak havoc."

The two girls looked at their mother, curious. Aurelia just shook her head as she sighed.

"You'll learn more about him in the academy. For now, we have to go up and eat. Then we'll talk about how you'll get to school," she just said as she went up, leaving the two girls behind.

The room fell silent until Aranea spoke.

"Why did my head hurt so much upon seeing his image?" she asked and Elenea looked at the book in her hand.

"That's weird. Now your head aches when you saw that picture apart from having the dream every night," Elenea commented as Aranea cocked her head to the right then she tried her best to understand why she was experiencing these things.

"I've been having a consistent dream, I got an invitation to enroll in a magic school when I have no magic, then I had this headache when I saw that mysterious man."

Elenea looked at her, feeling that there is indeed a connection to these incidents happening to her sister.

"You think going to the academy will give us answers as to why you're experiencing these things?" she asked and Aranea looked at her as she nodded slowly.

"I think so. But you know, Elenea, the weird thing is..."

Aranea trailed off as she opened her bestiary book and went to the page where Lavitz is. She pointed at the image then looked at her sister.

"If this person is one of their greatest enemies, why do I feel somewhat... different when I saw him? Like he's not dangerous at all?"
