Threaten to Kill

"What? Peculiari?"

"She's one of us now!"

"Heh... you sound so proud knowing your class is stupid."

"What did you say!?"

"At least we don't shun other people as you do!"

"Because you don't have a choice but to accept them, anyway!"

"How can a non-magic user have a class? Enlighten us!"

Aranea blinked her eyes a few times. She's now a part of Peculiari and seeing their reactions and hearing their words, it is obvious that Peculiari as a class is something not amazing.

She looked at their table and saw how the Peculiari students glared at the students in the other classes who were insulting them. Also, some of the other Peculiari students who were silent had sad eyes, making Aranea feel bad for them.

It's as if the students in the Peculiari class are outcasts... just because their magic is unusual!

Feeling anger course through her body, she tightened her fists then spoke as loud as she could, getting everyone's attention.

"So what if we are in Peculiari!? You guys sure act all high and mighty just becase you have great magic!"

'Aranea!'

Her twin sister, Elenea, stood up in worry. She held her chest as it started pounding hard, anxious of Aranea's bravery. She knew her too well that if she is angry, especially when people are being bullied, Aranea won't stand still and watch.

"Eh?"

A girl from the Invicta class stood up, arching a brow at her. She brushed her hair that was on her shoulder then she pointed at Aranea, as if accusing her of her stupidity.

"Who's acting high and mighty now? How dare you speak when you are a freshman, with no magic at that?"

"Yeah, Grace is right!"

"How can a person with no magic stand up for those people in Peculiari?"

"Ha! At least the people in Peculiari have magic, unlike you!"

Hearing this, Aranea glared at Grace who talked down on her. She even glared at the students who were insulting her as she tightened her fists, the headmaster beside her walking forward, getting everyone's attention.

"It is the first day of your classes in the academy and you dare fight in front of the professors and in front of you headmaster!?"

With his voice roaring in the main hall, everyone's voices died down.

Looking at Professor Gertrude beside him, she nodded, understanding what Headmaster Gavin wanted to say. The professor went to the Peculiari box, got a robe, then gave it for Aranea to wear.

Aranea wore the robe exclusively for Peculiari students. When the neon blue outlines sparkled, she smiled, even though she knows that she is part of a class that people find unamusing.

Even then, to her, she knows that the class will be considered her family and that they are mages with great power despite the unusual magic.

This made Aranea think, however, if the class will see her as part of their family.

She shyly turned to their headmaster then spoke in a whisper, only he could hear.

"Why did you put me in Peculiari when I have no magic?"

The headmaster didn't say anything. He just gave a reassuring smile to Aranea as he put his hand on her shoulder, encouraging her. He did not say a word, but Aranea felt better and assured to have seen him act this way towards him.

"You have something in you. You just have to find out yourself," he said, making Aranea cock her head to the side.

"You mean... I have magic, I'm just unaware?"

"Who knows! Maybe there is, maybe there isn't."

The headmaster just shrugged, making Aranea pout.

'He is making things confusing for me!'

The headmaster then looked at everyone. His expression turned serious as he spoke, continuing on with their assembly.

"Now, I want everybody to be settled on their seats and we will go on with our introduction for our freshmen students, followed by our daily announcements."

Aranea briskly walked towards the Peculiar's table where she is welcomed with open arms.

"Welcome to Peculiari!"

Vayne greeted her, making Aranea smile as she sat down beside him.

The other students in Peculiari smiled at her as well as they waited for the usual discussions and announcements done in the school.

"Damn!"

Zann leaned on the wall outside the path going to the main wall. He slowly fell to the ground as he held his head, his hands harshly pulling his red-orange hair.

'I don't want to... I don't want to renew my duties right now! Can't it wait!?'

"Zann!"

Professor Samuela ran towards the student who was kneeling on the floor. The moment he touched Zann's back, he harshly brushed her hand away, making the professor look at him with worried eyes.

"What's wrong? Let's go to the clinic," her manly voice said as Zann panted, still holding his head.

"No medicine can fix this. Go away!"

Professor Samuela grabbed Zann by the collar, slightly surprising him. Still, he put on a strong front as he glared at the professor, not caring about their difference in position and rank.

"It is my responsibility as a teacher to look after my students! Now..."

Professor Samuela pulled him closer to her, his face almost near hers. Her eyes suddenly turned into red, making Zann lock eyes with it.

For some reason even though he wanted to, he can't look away.

"You either follow me or I kill you right now so you won't feel any more pain."

Zann slightly gulped as Professor Samuela released him from her hold.

"Fine," Zann flatly said, making Professor Samuela's eyes turn back to normal as she smiled sweetly at him, making the boy cringe.

"Okay! Let's go then!"

Zann hesitantly followed as they walked towards the hospital wing of the academy that's located in the opposite building to where they are.

As the two were walking, Zann's eyes were fixed on Professor Samuela's back, making him narrow his eyes at her in secret.

'You told me that it is your responsibility as a teacher to take care of your students... why the hell threaten to kill me after!?'
