Aranea did a facepalm as she thought that the way to summon the Elemental Deities was indeed different.
She felt it was illogical to have a Summoner kiss a "magical item" just for her to summon them and make them her familiar!
"If it is about convenience as what Leonel claimed, then why not just Summoners blink their eyes, say their names, or think of them? Why not summon them by touch?"
Elenea laughed slightly as she heard her sister's complaint.
"I think summoning them by touch would be a problem, Aranea. It would mean you not touching anything at all," she commented, making her twin sister Aranea roll her eyes.
"But a kiss is just... absurd!"
Leonel cocked his head to the side as he looked at Aranea with curiosity in his eyes.
"It seems you are unaware of your power?"
"Of course, I am!"
Aranea looked agitated as she threw her hands up in the air, feeling irritated at the same time.
"Wasn't it obvious that I was caught off guard? I was thinking of my family, missing them as I feel scared about the ordeal and the moment I kissed my phone, it turned into a human being!"
"Oh..." Leonel slightly creased his brows, understanding the confusion. "That explains your shock."
"No kidding!" Aranea let out a sigh, "I grew up believing that I have no magic at all. With me suddenly having it, how can this be happening now?"
Headmaster Gavin shook his head as he crossed his arms in front of his chest and continued to speak.
"Aranea Griffin, many years have passed and you are the second one believed to have possessed the magic of the fabled goddess Lovisa. Since you have the power to summon, you should know all about it, and how to control it."
With the headmaster suddenly talking seriously, the three went quiet, making him tell more about what Aranea possessed.
"As what we said earlier, this doesn't mean that anything your lips touch, would immediately be your familiar."
"Then, how would I know if it is an item worthy to become a familiar?" Aranea suddenly asked, Leonel, chiming in to answer her question.
"Well, that is unknown, too... as I heard, only Summoners can sense a unique mana from the items and when they do, they have to kiss it, and they will become your familiar."
"Nnngh..." Aranea sighed, "This is getting rather difficult to understand," she said as she looked at him. "I mean, I felt nothing when I had my phone. How should I know about mana and such?"
Furrowing her brows, Elenea looked at Leonel as she proceeded to ask him questions, curious about the Elemental Deities.
"If the fabled goddess Lovisa was the only one who could summon the Elemental Deities before Aranea, then would that mean that you were not summoned until now? And where do you guys stay? What happened to the item once it turns into a human?"
Headmaster Gavin laughed, getting the attention of the three.
"It seems that Elenea is more curious about being a Summoner than the Summoner herself," he commented, making Aranea pout.
"Because this is a power that I did not expect getting."
"But it is a power that could match even the most powerful ones."
Suddenly, Headmaster Gavin turned serious as he continued talking, explaining why summoning Elemental Deities is a power worth having.
"Summoning Elemental Deities help in a lot of ways and it can be astonishing more than every mage could imagine. Elemental Deities, you see, have their own magic powers and they can resonate with yours. Meaning, you can use his magic, and he can use it to protect you, too. It is their utmost responsibility to protect you."
Hearing this, Aranea and Elenea's eyes widened in surprise. They looked at each other then back at the headmaster who continued explaining what else the Summoner and her familiars could do.
"In order to make them stronger, you have to get to know them as well. You see, familiars are not pets. They are also humans. To get their magic stronger, to make them learn spells and techniques, you have to train with them apart from their independent training."
"Hmm... this seems to be difficult. Do you think I could manage?"
Aranea looked confused and at the same time feel worried. Leonel gave her a small smile as she gently put his hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
"Actually, it is my first time being a familiar to a Summoner as well. We have been waiting for a long time," he said, making the two girls crease their brows in wonder.
"For a long time?"
Aranea cocked her head to the side as she looked at Leonel.
"What do you mean? Does it mean that since then, you haven't been a familiar to someone? Weren't you fabled goddess' Lovisa's familiar?" she said and asked, making Leonel scratch the back of his head.
"No, I wasn't... but I've heard of her from our ancestors! They said she was really amazing! That no one could match up to her prowess!" His eyes glistened as he spoke. "I dreamt that someday I would meet a summoner as great as how they told me!"
A nervous chuckle escaped from Aranea.
"I think I would have to disappoint you on that, Leonel. I have no idea how to do this," she said, making Headmaster Gavin walk towards the three, putting both of his hands on Aranea's shoulders.
"Your familiars will guide you, and you will guide them the same."
An encouraging smile flashed on the headmaster's face as he tried his best to ease the uneasiness of the newly ordained Summoner.
"Do not fret. If lost, come find me... and I will help."
Hearing the comfort from the headmaster, Aranea smiled then she nodded, Elenea and Leonel smiling at him as well. The young Summoner then looked at Leonel as she remembered the questions asked by her twin sister.
"I'm curious about what Elenea asked, too, Leonel... where were you before I summoned you, and what happens to the item once it turns into a human? How can you change back?"
"Oh!"
Hearing this, Headmaster Gavin looked at him too, expectant of his answer.
"For the item, I have to revert back when you need it and when I wish it. For the place, I was in the realm where familiars live and it's called Ravaya. It's like another whole world, but it's mostly where we train and wait until the chosen elemental deities are summoned by a summoner."
"I see," Aranea said, slightly catching up to everything that was said to her. "Anything else?"
"There is. To formally seal the bond, too, the familiars would have to act as well!"
"And how does this happen?"
What Leonel did took her by surprise.
He suddenly grabbed Aranea by the waist, pulled him towards him, closed his eyes, then landed his lips on hers.
The young summoner widened her eyes as a blue light engulfed them, feeling energy course through her body.
Headmaster Gavin didn't seem surprised as if he knew it and for Elenea, however, her mouth was agape as she stared at the man kissing her twin sister.
The moment Leonel released Aranea, the girl hit his chest as she felt embarrassed and flustered.
"Why the hell did you kiss me again for!?"
Leonel blinked his eyes a few times, wondering why Aranea still showed confusion.
"To seal the pact and to formally be your familiar on my end, of course!"
