The Plan for Death

He had practically just presented me with a new life. At first I felt obligated to take it, but then I realised I couldn't just leave my family and my life behind. The only words I'd been able to say without more thought was, "I'll think about it," He seemed content with this answer, probably presuming it was practically already a yes, but I didn't know how to tell anyone else.

The others were brought back into the room. Some of them once-overed me with their eyes, looking for any sign of distress. Apparently I seemed normal. I didn't feel it. It felt like I could explode any minute.

I pushed it aside, and we started on the plan. They had started mapping where the portal was, explaining the entrances and side doors nobody would suspect us through. But once we made it into the big, open room centered in an old church that wasn't being used, they would see us. We would have to fight through, each one of us. Not all of us would make it and we knew that. We all decided on 1 person from each clan who had to make it through. I wasn't one of them, because I wasn't able to repopulate. Ferren was one though, I knew I had to get him through. If I didn't live, I'd have to know he did. I was also hell bent on getting Amaya through. I had accepted her to die with me, but I now knew that was foolish to lose another just because I was scared. Just because I was weak.

So we devised our plan. I hadn't thought of the others as we got geared and started heading out. Honestly, I didn't expect to make it past.

My plan was to get everyone else through.

Even if I have to die for it.
