50,000 years ago, Hell was destroyed because of too much Foul from the resentment of the souls that later turned to Soul Eaters and devoured everything in their wake, leaving nothing of Hell. The gods above in Heaven, in order to take care of the newly-died souls, created the Afterlife Department comprised of grim reapers. 

Huo Ling was delivering food that day when he met Yi Bing and the guy gave him a warning. When he arrived to the customer's unit, he was killed.  
Huo Ling: you set up a death flag for me!
Yi Bing: I'm a grim reaper. I'm the flag myself. Let me help you solve the mystery of your death.

"Damn badass…!" Jenny hissed after she saw Huo Ling dragged the leader's corpse out using his legs wrapped around the other's neck.

"Yes… Huo-ge is so cool!" Qi Ying said as he looked at Huo Ling with sparkling eyes.

Xi Kai heard what Qi Ying said and he cursed. "Remember that he is already married to Yi Bing." He told them.

"Yes!" Qi Ying and Jenny answered and followed Xi Kai back to the group to interrogate the 'family'.

Upon hearing those words, Huo Ling who is walking towards Yi Bing, almost tripped had he not immediately regained his composure. He glared at Yi Bing who just chuckled. "What did you find?" he asked.

"There is Foul on that man's wound. He turned to a zombie." Yi Bing answered and glanced at Xi Kai's group who are now interrogating the woman who was tied up while the girl and the other two children are sitting beside Xi Ke and Lu Lu who are pacifying them.
