50,000 years ago, Hell was destroyed because of too much Foul from the resentment of the souls that later turned to Soul Eaters and devoured everything in their wake, leaving nothing of Hell. The gods above in Heaven, in order to take care of the newly-died souls, created the Afterlife Department comprised of grim reapers. 

Huo Ling was delivering food that day when he met Yi Bing and the guy gave him a warning. When he arrived to the customer's unit, he was killed.

Yi Bing: I'm a grim reaper. I'm the flag myself. Let me help you solve the mystery of your death.

"Brother…" Jin Wu called as he looked at Jin Yi who is crying before them.

Jin Yi can't help it anymore and hugged Jin Wu tight. "Xiao Wu… I am sorry… I really am sorry…" he apologized. "And, thank you since you have taken care of yourself all this while." He told him. "You have become a fine man." He said. "I am very happy that I can see you again… for the last time." he whispered.

Jin Wu's eyes turned warm and wet, and he smiled. "En. Me, too… brother." He said as he hugged Jin Yi back tight. "Brother… farewell." He whispered. "May you be happy in your next life." He told him.

"Yes." Jin Yi nodded. He looked at Mo Shi and smiled. His lips moved, saying something to him, before his soul slowly disappeared.
