You Caught Me

"Lana, you didn't need to come out here to explain yourself to me. I'm not upset," Zane replied. "Besides, I honestly think that family is more important than anything. You shouldn't argue with your parents because of a person you don't know well."

Zane's response made Lana feel even worse.

After all, his every word sounded like he was viewing the situation from a bystander's point of view. Never did he consider that she had come out here all on her own, just because she was worried that he was upset.

"I understand..." Lana mumbled. "I'm glad that you're not upset. I'm going to go. Thank you for your jacket."

"I'll drive you..."

"That's not necessary," Lana said before she quickly turned to leave. However, after a couple of steps, she paused and said to Zane, "I thought I meant something different to you. But, I guess I'm no different to everyone else."

"I'm sorry!"
