Ch. 6 Local Shield Hero Shows Off

I'm woken up by the voice of a very serious young man who runs at incredibly hihg speed. Ingenium Jr., Tenya Iida.

"Midoriya... You realized the true nature of the practical exam, whereas I could not... I greatly misjudged you, you are clearly incredibly perceptive and a greatly superior student then I am...!" Iida grits his teeth, painful admittance written all over his face. I can hear his teeth grinding across the classroom, geez!

Meanwhile, as Iida admits his loss, the "incredibly perceptive" boy in question was squirming and swaying to-and-fro, screaming internally. "ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?!" is probably what he's thinking. His future girlfriend should show up in 3... 2.. 1.

"Ah, I know that messy hair!"

There she is. Ochaco Uraraka has arrived on schedule.

Oh, now Deku's probably thinking about how cute she looks in that uniform. He's not wrong, but his thinking is too limited. ALL the 1-A girls can be made into waifus! What happens when all girls are best girl? Chaos, that's what! Ahahaha!

"If you're just here to make friends, then you can get out now." In sharp contrast with Uraraka's bubbly voice, a catepillar shows up with a voice and appearance as gruff and tired as a salaryman's midlife crisis.

Stepping out of his caterpillar sleeping bag, the man stands up and walks in. "Hello... I'm Shoto Aizawa, your homeroom teacher."

The second he says that, a wave of shock and disillusionment spreads through the students. It's like a beggar just showing up and going: "I'm your CEO-"

Wait.

It's EXACTLY like that.

Taking out some gym clothes from within his sleeping bag, Aizawa-sensei turns away saying, "Change into these and get to the field outside." as he slinks off.

Seeing that everybody in class is still somewhat trying to process this truckload of info, I see an opportunity to make an impression. I'm a bit of an opportunist, you see. Walking to the front of the class and throwing a set of clothes over my shoulder, I too exit the room.

"What are ya' waiting for? Teacher's calling."

...

"Bakugo, how far could you throw in middle school?"

"Around 67 meters, why?"

"Alright then..." Aizawa-sensei said before passing a ball to Katsuki, "I want you to throw this ball using your Quirk. Do whatever you want, just don't leave the circle."

A smirk appeared on Katsuki's face. Getting into position, he throws his arm back before screaming like a singer in a metal band.

"DIE!"

*Explosion!*

Jeez... Did someone call Megumin? This guy yells "Die!" every single time he uses his quirk. How much angst does he have? He and his mom have very different types of "explosiveness" afterall...

"Knowing your maximum capabilities is important. That's the rational way of figuring out your potential as a future Pro Hero." Aizawa-sensei shows us how far Katsuki threw the ball.

"705 meters?!"

...

As I continue daydreaming about the science behind the Bakugo family's "explosiveness" sadistic smile creeped across Aizawa-sensei's face. An aura of impending doom is looming behind him. "You'll spend 3 years here becoming a Hero. You think it'll be fun? Idiots.... You'll be taking 8 physical tests to gauge your potential. Those with the worst results... get expelled immediately."

The second he finished his sentence, everyone (excluding me, of course) experiences what may likely be the biggest bruh moment I've ever seen. Seriously, the entire class just went "!!!". I'd be shocked too, but now that I have Deus Ex Manga at my side... Let's just say I've got a pretty good feeling about the future.

50-Meter Dash. Eh, I'm not much of a runner anyway, so I'll just use my Quirk, and boost jump my way around. I form a shield beneath my feet, and as I can freely move the shields around, I can use it as a springboard! I call it... [Spring Shield]!

...I'm not very good at naming things, am I?

"My Quirk has the most uses in this school...!" Katsuki seems to be angry at Izuku again.

I use [One-Liner Reply]! "Now, are ya' sure about that?"

"HUH?! YOU GOT A DEATH WISH?" Yay, I made the angery boi even MORE angery!

Grip Strength test is next... I'll put a few mini shields in my hand and crush the measuring device between them and I can do the same for the Ball Throw.

The Standing Long Jump should be easy. [Spring Shield]!

Side Jumps... I can copy Mineta and bounce myself between a pair of [Spring Shield(s)]

"Name's Saisei. I get the feeling we have a lot in common."

"Yeah, me too. I'm Mineta."

An appreciation for "high art" forms bonds!

As for distance running and toe-touching... There's not much my Quirk can do there, so I'll do it normally.

I think I did pretty well.

...

"And the results are:"

1. Momo Yaoyorozu

2. Shoto Todoroki

3. Saisei Mamoru

4. Katsuki Bakugo

Heh.

.

.

20. Izuku Midoriya

Eh? Wait a minute. 1-A has 20 students, and then there's me... Who did I replace? Ah! Rikido Sato isn't here! I forgot about that guy! I'm pretty sure the fandom forgot him too! Sorry, Sugarman!
