Ch. 9 Encounter With The Known

12.50 A.M. / Classroom 1-A

Clearing his throat, Aizawa-sensei announces the next activity. "Alright, today's Hero Training will be the Rescue Trial. You'll be dealing with natural disasters, shipwrecks, stuff like that. The training site is off-campus so we'll take the bus."

Outside, Iida makes an announcement for a seating arrangement according to the class ranking... Only to be shot down by the bus itself. Poor guy. He needs to chill.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Roast Of Bakugo. Tsuyu, start us off. "Bakugo's always angry so he'll never going to be popular."

"What did you say?!"

Next up, Kaminari. "We've only just met you, and we all know your personality's flaming garbage, so..."

"YOU"RE GONNA REGRET APPLYING HERE!"

And now me. "Damn, just as explosive as your mom, huh?" I can't resist the mom joke. Not with a mom like THAT.

Now he's absolutely steaming. Red face, hot air all over the place, profanities galore. If you can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen, dummy.

"Quiet. We're here."

Somehow, I stumble off the bus.

My foot hurts. I kinda slipped after landing that sick Rider Kick on Todoroki, and my ankle's currently being a real pain in the ass. Obviously I couldn't ask Recovery Girl to heal it, as I had just styled on someone, hard. You don't go to to the nurse after something like that. That's just uncool.

...

"Welcome to the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or U.S.J.!"

"...Universal Studios Japan?"

I've actually been there once, in my old life. I was too small to remember much, other than playing Sonic '06 in the hotel lobby.

Upon entering the USJ, we are greeted by the Michelin Ma-*cough* Pro Hero Thirteen! Ochaco's freaking out, and for the most part, Thirteen says the exact same thing she does in the show. I barely pay attention to her.

Thirteen begins her speech on Quirks, ending with "Your Quirks can hurt, and even kill people with a single misstep. That's why you'll be learning how to use those powers to save others!"

As the others stand there, listening to Thirteen, I start walking towards the stairs leading from the entrance plaza.

"Hey, what are you-?!"

"Right on schedule."

"Huh?"

"Aizawa-sensei, I suggest you put your goggles on."

A jet black void-like mist appears in the main plaza. A hand creeps out, and a face appears in the blackness. Tomura Shigaraki has arrived.

...

(3rd POV, because fight scenes are hard.)

As the thin, lanky man steps out from the dark mist, more and more people follow him, stepping out and crowding the USJ's main plaza. Aizawa steps back in shock, putting on his trademark goggles as he tells the students to stay back.

"Those... are Villains."

The word alone is enough to send shivers down the whole classes' spines. Villains are here. Villains here to destroy and in general, do very scary things. Aizawa readies himself to fight, unraveling his Capture Weapon, but he stops.

One student calmly walks forward, descending the steps at a leisurely pace. Light shines down from the canopy, as if presenting this student as its chosen one. He opens his mouth to address the man with a very visible hand fetish.

"Nice to meet you."

Surprised by the appearance of the boy who seemed to know he was coming, Tomura replies. "It's just a kid. Are you supposed to be some brave Hero?"

"Maybe, maybe not. It depends on you, Tomura Shigaraki. Or should I say... Tenko Shimura?"

Tomura's red eyes go wide. "YOU! HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?"

"Well, I guess I really will be a brave Hero then."

A flash of green light shines from behind our brave student, and he disappears. Not a second later, the front line of Villains gathered here is blown away by a sudden impact in their midst, sending a cloud of dust into the air, along with a few of their more unlucky members.

A snap of fingers is heard, and a fist strikes the closest ruffian in the face, sending him flying into a nearby tree. Another punch finds its mark in someone's torso, and as the dust clears, Saisei starts pummeling the villains with a hail of punches and kicks. It seems he wouldn't even need to use his Quirk's main powers.

Soon, some of the villains start to retaliate, with the projectile team poised to shoot at Saisei. He simply twitches his fingers, and a shield appears in mid-air, blocking whatever they had tried shooting at him.

The rest of Class 1-A can only watch in awe as their classmate slowly makes his way towards the center of the plaza. Aizawa, however, jumps in after him, attempting to save the boy from his recklessness. The two make short work of the many villains, much to the dismay of one Tomura Shigaraki, seething with rage.

He charges at Saisei, furiously reaching out to grab him.

But little did he know, our hero's old father taught him the basics on scrambling fools like eggs and folding em' like omelettes. And so he stepped to the side, caught Tomura by the wrist, and flipped him onto his face.

After a few more seconds of involuntary yoga, Saisei finds himself pinning Tomura to the ground, holding both of his arms by the wrists. All of a sudden, a shadow looms over him.

...

(Back to Saisei's POV)

Ow.

I forgot the Nomu was there.

I just got fucking thrown, man. Like, straight up grabbed by the hair and yeeted into an unsuspecting boulder like a used thot.

And I'm passing out. What kind of glass cannon bullshit do you have to be for something like this to-

Oh.

[Do you wish for another chance?]

Wasn't expecting to see this again.

"Yep."

The shock wears off once you're doing something for the second time. It's a lot less awe-inspiring now that I've done this twice.

[Confirm Selection? Y / N]

"...Yes."

[Do you wish for a new power?]

Ohmygod yes please. This is a lot less intuitive than I thought it'd be. It's so clunky! All-range attacks should never, under any circumstance, be clunky!

"Yes."

[What will your new power be?]

...

(3rd POV)

With the boy now gone, Tomura finally calms down, sending the Nomu after Aizawa instead. Despite all his technique and experience, not even Eraserhead can stand against it's sheer power and brute force. Everything else happens according to plan, with Kurogiri incapacitating Thirteen and attacking the students. One of them manages to escape, however.

Tomura stands over Aizawa's beaten body, clearly gloating. The students are enveloped by the portal, and spread out to be beaten by various groups of enemies in the USJ. They try their best to hang in there, to varied success.

And from the debris of rocks and dust, Saisei stands up.

"Took the L. Will try harder this time."
