"Uncle, are you a cultivator?"

Wang Kuan lifted his head and looked for answers. Wang Kuan was confident that he was indeed a cultivator from his strong aura, him giving the Flesh Enhancement Pill and just now, it was clear as day. Uncle Lan was amused with his question since Wang Kuan should've known about it now but he hesitated and didn't want to believe it to be true.

"Of course, I am, can't you see?" Uncle Lan laughed cheerfully, he took a healing pill from his pocket and tossed it to Wang Kuan. He gave many hints but Wang Kuan ignored the hints and thought it would be impossible for this world to have cultivators. Wang Kuan immediately chugged it in and felt a cold sensation radiating from his body, he sat down and began absorbing the pill. Uncle Lan glared intimidatingly at the group.

The group stared fiercely at them and went to retrieve Mo Chen's body. The group was strong but their leader was injured and they had to retreat. They preferred to wait it out than to act recklessly. Revenge could be achieved at any time. They left with his body,

'We will come back for revenge'.

Wang Kuan sat down, continuously absorbing it. Uncle Lan kept watch on him from any danger occurring, after a while, Wang Kuan opened his eyes and blue light radiated from his body and qi soared. Wang Kuan felt something heavy and he inspected his body, he made a breakthrough to Foundation Phase. Wang Kuan was still slightly shocked with his sudden progess,

'How did I managed to make a breakthrough so quickly?'

"Eh, I didn't expect you to managed to make a breakthrough so quickly and easily, the pill I gave you only strengthens your cultivation and heal you but you somehow managed to shock me every time," Uncle Lan continued concentrating on his body, "This is the first time I've seen such speed in my lifetime and it could be faster than that person".

Wang Kuan, himself, felt somewhat shocked at this speed. Normally, it would take a month for an individual to make a breakthrough from Body Tempering to Foundation Phase and 2 weeks for talented individuals. Wang Kuan knew it had something to do with his soul considering his soul was an immortal and experienced in the field of cultivation. This body might have some parts in the cultivation speed, he felt his Spirit improved alongside him as well.

Foundation Phase is the true beginning path to Godhood. The moment a person stepped into the Nascent Profound Realm, they can finally be considered to be a true profound cultivator. The word "Foundation" implies that this is the stage where a person's Profound Energy is starting to take form and showing signs of its future potential.

"I think you can refine this," Uncle Lan took out a piece of the Soul Shield pendant that he stole from Mo Chen and handed it to Wang Kuan. Wang Kuan now had two pieces of the Soul Shield pendant and the other three pieces might be with the group.

"I have been observing you since you came to Hong Kong," Uncle Lan laughed and continued, "I was impressed with your calmness when you were battling Mo Chen, If he didn't have armour on, you would've won easily".

"Though, I had this feeling you were a cultivator but I didn't probe into it," Wang Kuan said bitterly from being ignorant. Uncle Lan helped Wang Kuan get up, even though he was healed, his clothes were still drenched in blood.

"Haha, I gave you an enhancement pill, that would be clear as daylight," Uncle Lan laughed and continued, "Tomorrow, I'll bring you to a place". Wang Kuan was stunned and asked, "What place?". Uncle Lan smiled and said, "It's a place for your future," Wang Kuan was confused.

"Also, you're Spirit user?" Uncle Lan asked Wang Kuan seriously. Wang Kuan knew it was useless now to lie and he answered honestly, "Yes, I am but I don't fully understand the concept of Spirit and Spirit users".

"Hmm, Spirit could only be seen and wielded by limited people, I'll tell you all about it later tomorrow cause this subject is still a mystery and danger to many people," Uncle Lan said with a solemn voice and Wang Kuan wanted to probe further but hearing tomorrow he would get his answer and it was a secret, he closed his mouth.

Uncle Lan called for an ambulance to take his comrades to the hospital and gave Wang Kuan a new set of clothes. Wang Kuan immediately changed into his set of clothes and the two went inside the festival for a snack.

Wang Kuan bumped into a familiar person, Wang Kuan smiled awkwardly. Qing Zhu looked at him dumbstruck and said in a daze, "What are you doing here?". Wang Kuan felt awkward cause Uncle Lan was still standing right there and they were surrounded by many people. Uncle Lan took the opportunity to tease him,

"Hoho, could it be you two...," Uncle Lan made an O with his mouth and placed his right hand over it, Wang Kuan thought it definitely wasn't a good idea to grab a snack knowing she was also here.

"I was hanging out for a bit," Wang Kuan answered blandly, this tone ignited Qing Zhu's flame and her calmness immediately scattered. Qing Zhu snorted softly,

'I asked you nicely and yet you answered in a tone like that to my kind question'

Wang Kuan didn't know what she was thinking, he wanted to ask about Tian'er and suddenly, someone interrupted their conversation, "Qing Zhu, come and have a drink with us," The man was handsome but Wang Kuan immediately knew something was off with his expression. Wang Kuan could feel a conspiracy forming and the drink had somewhat of an aphrodisiac smell to it. The handsome man smiled gently and offered a glass of wine to Qing Zhu, Qing Zhu looked at the glass coolly and was about to take it. Wang Kuan grabbed her hand and bought her near him.

"You! Stay away from her," Wang Kuan said coldly at the man, the man was slightly stunned and smiled calmly, "What's wrong with me having a drink with her? Could it be that you're her boyfriend?". Qing Zhu immediately blushed red from the physical contact the two had. She originally planned to pour it on top of his head but Wang Kuan pulled her hand and she flushed. Qing Zhu stared secretly at him. It was heavenly to see such a beautiful goddess blush in front of them.

Uncle Lan: (￣▽￣) it seems my lessons bore fruit

"You planned to feed her a drug," Wang Kuan glared coldly, the man's face turned ugly at that moment. Wang Kuan bought her away and voices could be heard,

'Could he be Qing Zhu's boyfriend?'

'This is breaking news!'

'My Goddess cheated on me, I feel depressed now'

Qing Zhu flushed a deeper shade of red and she tried withdrawing her hand but it was held tightly, "Let me go". Wang Kuan immediately let her hand go after thinking she was hurt and asked worriedly, "I'm sorry, are you okay?". Qing Zhu shook her head and said emotionally, "Thank you for that but I have to go back".

"Why do you have to go back? The award is over, let's go home," Wang Kuan held her arms gently. Wang Kuan didn't know he was talking to her in a gentle voice. Qing Zhu hesitated for a while, "It would be rude for me to leave unannounced" Wang Kuan interrupted, "It doesn't matter what they think, let's go home".

Qing Zhu won a few awards and that's why she was worried it would be rude to leave so suddenly. Qing Zhu was worried after the incident but she was thankful for Wang Kuan at this moment. She blushed after remembering how he held her hand and shook her head continuously. Qing Zhu shouldn't be feeling like this toward him but she couldn't stop it. Normally, she was calm but he always managed to shatter that calmness and disrupt her tranquil character. It has been a while since she felt like this.

Wang Kuan didn't know why he reacted like that cause normally, he would be calm in every situation but after seeing she was in danger, he snapped. Wang Kuan shouldn't be feeling this cause in the past, it cost him his life for this very reason. He swore to never feel this way again after that day.

'I must not feel this way,'The two thought at the same time.

"So, how's Tian'er?" Wang Kuan asked after a moment of awkward silence.

"She's alright but she's been missing you very much," Qing Zhu replied calmly. Wang Kuan sighed in relief and said, "I wish to see her if that's alright?". Qing Zhu hesitated but after enduring days of the little girl constantly begging for her Papa, she decided to let him see her.

"Alright then, you can see but only because she misses you," Qing Zhu pursed her lips and said out of nowhere. Wang Kuan nodded repeatedly. Qing Zhu told him she would be going home first cause she didn't want a scandal to break out from them being seen together. Wang Kuan also had to go back and say something to Uncle Lan.

"Uncle Lan, I have to go back home," Wang Kuan said hurriedly. Uncle Lan laughed wholeheartedly and said, "Okay then but answer this question, was that actress your baby mama?" Wang Kuan's mouth twitched at the question and was silent.

"Alright then if you don't want to answer," Uncle Lan said gloomily and went back to a group of women. Wang Kuan smiled in heart,

'He's still the same after all of those times'.

Wang Kuan left after that, someone was secretly observing at him and smiled greedily,

"You'd actually dared to mess with this young master, I will make you pay for taking my woman away"

Qing Zhu's Residence

"Papa, you're back," Tian'er ran to welcome her daddy after a couple of days of not seeing each other. Wang Kuan lifted her up and hugged her tightly as well. He missed this little girl and his life felt gloomy with her brightness. The little girl kissed his cheeks repeatedly as he laughed.

"Do you miss Papa that much?" Wang Kuan kissed her on the forehead and placed her down. The little girl suddenly remembered something and asked," Papa, did you buy Tian'er snack? Papa promised to buy for Tian'er". Wang Kuan laughed and took out his package of snacks that he bought on the way here.

Tian'er clapped her hands and started eating the snacks, Wang Kuan helped open the snacks and fed it to her. Wang Kuan rubbed her head and looked tenderly at the little girl. Qing Zhu looked at the two of them and smiled secretly. Tian'er no longer needed to beg her for her Papa.

Wang Kuan played with the little girl and laughter could be heard in every room. The atmosphere was now lively again. When Wang Kuan came inside, he ignored the others and went immediately to Tian'er so Luo Yi was bitter.

"That bastard didn't even greet you and us," Luo Yi snorted and Qing Zhu laughed bitterly. After all, a father and daughter's bond was the strongest. Qing Zhu felt somewhat jealous but she would never admit it as she also used to get spoiled by Wang Kuan back in University but things were different now, they broke up and she had his child after the breakup. The relationship between them was awkward, it was like those American shows you often find on television. Qing Zhu felt gloomy and mad at him at the same time. She was too stupid and naive back then to believe his sweet words.

Wang Kuan never really noticed the others and focused on entertaining his daughter. They played till midnight, Qing Zhu had to be the bad guy and separate them or else Tian'er would never sleep.

"Papa, can you continue that story?" Tian'er asked rubbing her eyes. Wang Kuan smiled gently and rubbed her head.

"Okay then, do you remember where we left off?"

"After those plants stole his favourite pouches?"

"Correct, after that, he had to go back and get..."

He continued softly until she fell asleep. He kissed her on the forehead and covered her body with a small pink blanket.

"Sweet dreams, little princess"

Wang Kuan will be sleeping on the couch tonight but he didn't mind as long as he was with Tian'er. It was already awkward for him to stay at an ex's house but endurance was the answer to a better life.

He walked out to find Qing Zhu leaning against the couch. She was definitely waiting for him to come outside and talk, Wang Kuan smiled bitterly at her.

"Let's talk," Qing Zhu pursed lips.

"Okay then"
