Chapter 26

Ashley's POV

"One, oh, three stabs should suffice," dagdag ko saka ako ngumiti nang pagkatamis-tamis dahilan kung bakit siya tumingin kay Zac pero hindi siya pinansin ni Zac at tumayo lang sa likod ko

This Dave's probably thinking 'Damn! Why is she and our King together!?'. I scoffed thinking about it. I don't know either. Lately, laging nagbabanggaan ang mga daanan namin ni Zac. It's getting annoying really.

Tinignan ko naman 'yung nasa tabi kong taga-Public Colleges dahil hinila niya 'yung dulo ng vest ko.

"Y-you don't have to do it for us, Ashley.. This.. this is too much," bulong niya kaya naman natawa na ako saka hinarap si Dave na pinagpapawisan na ngayon

Facing my pressure and my cold gaze face on with just a few meters away? Lol. It's already impressive that he's still standing.

"Don't worry. I can avoid vital positions of a body's important functions and systems," paga-assure ko pero nang mas lalong masira ang mukha iya ay natawa nalang at tinago nalang ang kutsilyo ko't pinat siya sa ulo

"First years?" tanong ko kaya naman tumango siya

"Too naive, you're okay to just let them be after what they did?" tanong ko

"Revenge won't take us anywhere. We just wanted them to stop," sagot niya dahilan kung bakit ako natigilan sandali pero agad ding napangiti

"Okay, if this happens again, find me at the Senior's Building. I'll feed them bullets," sagot ko saka ako tumalikod at hinarap na si Dave

Napalunok siya't agad na lumuhod.

"Heard that?" tanong ko kaya naman agad siyang tumango ng tumango

"Y-yy-yes," nauutal niyang sagot kaya naman napa-hmp nalang ako't pumunta na kay Zac na halatang nage-enjoy lang na sa pinapanood niya

"Explain yourself," sabi ko saka ako nag-crossed arms kaya naman ngumiti siya bigla dahilan kung bakit nabigla ako pero agad rin naman akong umayos ng tayo

"Sure, sure, but not here," sagot niya bago siya naglakad palayo sa mga taong amoy dugo kaya naman sumunod na ako sakanya

My frustration was gone in an instant. What the hell.

I was seriously dumbstruck. His glistening white teeth, impeccable cheekbones and his left cheek dimples.. This.. this smile is dangerous! My heart nearly forgot how to beat for a second!

Umubo ako ng mahina bago inayos ang sarili ko. Tsk. Nakakahiya 'yung iniisip ko. I could die out of embarrassment.

"Now, you were there and you obviously knew what happened," sabi ko kaya naman tumango tango muna siya bago sumagot

"As leaders of our schools, it's not really our responsibility to meddle with each and every student's problems, just some and selected. It's a pain in the ass, if you ask me" sagot niya kaya naman napakunot ang noo ko

"Are you seriously saying that?" tanong ko

"Yes, well, I think it's because I'm not like you. You're too nice for your own good, Ashley" sagot niya kaya naman napataas na nag kilay ko ngayon

"Really now? I thought it's because you're too much of a jerk" sagot ko kaya naman napa-"Oh" siya bago siya natawa

"I was just joking. Anyways, you were cool earlier. Like a knight saving the damsel in distress," napairap na ako

"And you were the audience watching from the sidelines," sabat ko kaya naman natawa siya

"Yup, ako nga 'yon. I mean, it doesn't concern me after all. You should have just let themselves deal with it, or else they'll depend on you each and every time it happens again," sagot niya kaya naman napatango nalang ako

The way he's arguing right now.. he's like an angry boyfriend trying to scold his girlfriend for fighting. Tsk.

Pero naiitindihan ko rin naman 'yung sinasabi niya. Tama siya na kapag nakealam na ako, magi-iba na ang balanse sa school.

"Whatever. It concerns my school, so it is my responsibility," sagot ko at natawa naman siya

"But you're not the queen yet, right? Do you really love Public Colleges that much?" pang-aasar niya kaya naman nilapitan ko siya to the point na 5 inches nalang ang layo ng mga katawan namin

He's underestimating me again. This jerk.

I'll show him who's more intimidating between the two of us.

"Are you mocking me? Don't think I'm capable of taking the lead?" pabulong kong tanong kaya naman natigilan siya sandali pero agad ding bumalik sa dati niyang poker face na ekspresyon

Napangisi ako ng mapansin ko 'yung panandaliang pag-iba ng ekspresyon niya.

"Nope. I'm just stating the facts," simple niyang sagot saka iniwas ang tingin niya

Hinila niya 'yung necktie niya para mag-loose ito at tinanggal niya ang dalawang butones ng polo niya na para bang naiinitan siya at nagpapahangin lang.

"Hoo. It's so hot in here. Should we head to the rooftop?" tanong niya saka siya nagsimulang maglakad sa daang papunta sa rooftop

"It should be windy already. After all, it's almost the start of the 'ber' months" dagdag niya which is why I smirked and immediately crossed my arms.

"Zac, I noticed something.." sabi ko dahilan kung bakit siya natigilan sa paglalakad pero hindi pa rin humarap sa akin

"What is it?" tanong niya na para bang wala siyang pake sa sasabihin ko kaya naman huminga ako ng malalim

"Why do I always meet you in this huge school?" tanong ko kaya naman tumalikod siya para harapin ako

"Would you believe me if I said that it's.. fate?" tanong niya kaya naman natahimik ako sandali

Napaisip ako.

Darn. This guy.. with a face like that, an arrogant, carefree and lazy attitude, and a body glowing with a domineering and cold aura.. he knows how to flirt.

"Are you flirting with me?" tanong ko dahilan kung bakit siya nanaman ang natahimik ngayon

"Well, yeah, it seemed like that, huh?" tanong niya saka siya napaisip bago natawa

"Why? Nagsawa ka na bang marinig 'yan sa mga manliligaw at mga lalaking nagaaligid sayo?" tanong niya kaya naman napa-shrug ako saka tinignan mata sa mata
