When luck tends to be on your side - Heartbeat

Yo-han stared at her for a short time before flicking her forehead. " I said I don't care if your skills are that good or not."

"Ouch, that hurts!!,...so what do you want me to do, We can't paint on the same easel, how is it possible?" She asked.

"We can"

"but not at the same time."

The two spectators Seuk-Chin and Mr Seo decided to excuse the arguing duo. To their surprise, no one noticed their absence, at least not until it was time to return home.

"Okay, you win, so what are we painting?." Dan-bi asked. She was tired of arguing but seems like Yo-han was mainly here for that.

" You, yes, I told you the other day about my plan, didn't I?" He asked.

'Yeah, the lady setting a bird free, while the bed flaps it's wings, humming freedom, freedom, yada, yada, yada'. "Yes you did, but why are we painting me instead?" She asked.

"Did you see anyone else who will model the young lady?"

'So that's what he meant, but why was he arguing about two people using the same canvas earlier if this is what he wanted to do.?, Besides am I going to sit without moving for so long? And where is the bird?.' " what about the bird?"

" It's an after effect, just stay in position." He brought her out of the gazebo and sat her down on the grass at a spot that has a very beautiful scenery as background.

"Don't make me sit here forever, okay?"

"I won't take long, just give me a nice pose." He replied before going back to the easel.

He took a paint brush and opened a white paint's bucket, he dipped the brush into the white paint. After the brush had absorb a needed quantity of paint, he made a layer of white on the canvas with a to and fro movement as in left to right and top to bottom like a printer.

After accomplishing a neat result, he brought out his palette and before adding any paint, he studied the colors in the environment carefully, the variation and how they all contrast to produce the beautiful scenery. Only then did he select the colors he would use and make the correct mixture, not adding too much neutral colors when not necessary which ends up producing a correct scheme of colors.

He started his polychromatic art from the figure sitting on the grass, varying and contrasting the shades and the tints with his favorite brush swaying from one side to the other and adding layers of paint that produced blending effect and then added some glitch effects on the figure.

After a short while, he had fully captured the lady's figure and after feeling a bit of satisfaction, he moved to the background and he didn't waste much time on the background, he gave it a blurry effect, similar to that of a camera.

He left a space that will envelope the little bird and continued adding fixes to the previously touched parts. He made sure to balance the colors, adjust light angles and shady gradients. He was so professional with his painting that some passersby stopped for a moment to admire his talent and effort.

After a span of forty-five minutes, he signalled to Dan-bi that he is done. She stretched her body the moment she stood up and scurried over to see the finished product which she knew that without doubts will be legendary.

True it was as she expected but her glad expression did not last as she was confused when she saw a small blank space in the portrait right at the position near her hands that looked like they were really letting a bird go. She turned to ask him why he left the space blank and before she could even open her mouth, he placed the straps of a leather apron over her head, tied it around her waist, and placed a paint brush in her hands.

"It's your turn, I decided to divide the labour, do the rest" Yo-han said before taken off the apron and went to take a seat.

"Hey, ...."she wanted to complain and find a reason for him to complete it but she found no words. After all, it's a two man work. And it's only fair that she do something also. He had done more than 80% of the job, infact if to say it's 80% then there is an error in the calculation, he had done the main job. Moreover, if she let him do everything, his ego will rise and he will flaunt his success everywhere and boast about it to and she will get no credit 'Not Gonna happen', but she could use this to gain credit as well.

She looked at Yo-han who is no longer paying attention and has lost himself in the magical world of music, and this time seems like he is listening to rap music because of the way his head danced to the beat booming from his headset.

She picked up the palette and mixed some colors that won't look absurd with the ones on the canvas and slowly stained her brush with paint. Her heart was beating fast and faster, she was scared, scared of making a mistake, scared of ruining the precious craft, scared of flopping, scared of not meeting the stardard, scared of poor delivery of what she had in mind.

Even though this is not her first time working on an art piece, she was very nervous. If it was her own work, she had the liberty of wrecking it and making mistakes, but here before her is a perfectly created piece, she could not summon the courage to tamper with the painting. She ain't no professional and she would be highly disappointed if she later ruined this art piece, infact that would be the last time painting will ever cross her mind, she would decide on another major for University aside creative art. Her fate depends on tonight.

Lost in her thought, she suddenly felt a hand that held hers that had the paint brush softly from behind. She jerk and turned around to see who is standing behind her.

'what is he doing?' She asked herself. Earlier he was busy engrossing himself to his music. She did not notice his movement until she felt his touch which sent a chill down her spine.

He was holding her exactly the way a parent would hold a child that's learning to write. He had his chest resting on her back and she could feel his warm breath on her nape. This posture accelerated the speed of her heartbeat instantly at an alarming rate.*Thum Thum Thum Thum Thum Thum Thum....*

" Why are you stalling?" He said before lifting her hand and resumed painting.
