Better replacement.

The fight wasn't to their advantage because they were low on ammunition compared to the enemy who had many fighters and about 'two', 'three' no 'four' tanks that fired in every direction. Sa-Rang and the other men fought as a team and it helped them a lot because they easily took down a lot of the enemies very quickly but they had a hard time getting rid of the battle tanks that kept shooting at several buildings and even aiming at them. Seeing that the tanks are huge threats, and that soon more troops will be joining the enemy, they decided to evacuate the few people that were still alive. While Sa-Rang and some other soldiers went to gather the villagers, Na-mu, Chi-Won and some other soldiers kept holding back the enemies' attack. Luckily, they took down one of the tanks and kept launching firearms at the others.

Sounds of gunshots was so deafening for the villagers and all their faces were occupied with terror and great trepidation, especially the women and children. Sa-Rang and the rest successfully got them in several vans and sent them off one by one to some near by refuge.

Sa-Rang ran over to where Na-mu hid and launched his firearms, what she wanted was to fetch him so they could escape together to the nearest city. "Na-mu, let's go, the people are being conveyed to the nearest town, we can still escape" she said and pulled him with her but he didn't budge an inch, he kept shooting at the enemy soldiers, who were supposed to be decreasing but increasing rapidly instead. "Sa-Rang, are you not a soldier?, you know I won't run, just save yourself, forget about me." Was his only statement and he didn't utter any word further, he just continued shooting at the enemies. Having known him for long and understanding how stubborn he can be, She didn't make any move to persuade him nor did she leave him, she also carried her gun and fought beside him which increased his moral, they fought as a team and though Sa-Rang wasn't that good with guns, Na-mu overshadowed her shortcomings.

Watching Sa-Rang and Na-mu fighting side by side and cooperatively made Chi-Won envious and confused. He thought they were on bad terms, how come they reconciled without even a word of reconciliation, even when a bullet hit Na-mu in his left arm, Sa-Rang became very emotional for a while but with his smile and him saying he was okay, she helped him up from where he sat after getting wounded and continued the fight.

This short scene that Chi-Won saw explained to him the reality of what love meant, it wasn't smiling and laughing when their is peace, but helping each other up when the situation is life threatening and difficult. It was happiness in the silence, but smiles, and help when the sounds of danger echoes. It was a total different definition of love, completely different to what he knew before.

In a short time, there was a loud explosion and it was the enemies last tanks that exploded. A back up troop arrived to give an helping hand. It was a good thing that the villagers were evacuated because not till now did real gunfight began, the backup troop summoned by Na-mu brought handy weapons and combat tanks and with this, they easily repelled the enemies attack and neutralized the situation.

Finally, the recoiling sounds of guns and rattling of the machines and tanks died down when they finally ceased fire, marking that they have defeated the enemy's attack.

Feeling so tired, Na-mu fell on Sa-Rang's shoulders and rested all his weight on her but she immediately help him to seat on the ground and she took her seat beside him.

"How exhausted are you?" She questioned, her eyes was focused on his LED-flatscreen-like stomach. "You have not eaten in a long time?" She asked again but he only chuckled and said.

"You were haunting me by ignoring me for another man, how was I supposed to remember to eat, you know I did everything for love, I know I went overboard but should you not be happy that someone is so possessive of you, I don't want anyone to take who I love. I am sorry" Na-mu said and held out his hands to her but she didn't hold it, instead she hugged him tight and she almost squeezed life out of him.

"Silly, have I not mentioned that it's you or no one?, do you think I will ever leave you?. Stop being a kid and grow up, you know damn well that I love you don't you? If you don't, here I am saying it that I do, I love you so much." She said and sealed it with a kiss before going to get first aid for his bullet wound and something for him to eat.

Chi-Won approached Na-mu, he had on a sullen expression as if he didn't want to give up something, he crouched down before him and said to him. "You are such a lucky man, she is a real gem do take my advice, never stop being possessive, and make her feel priceless, lastly don't let people look at her too much cause they will want to take her from you. I wish you two well." He said and stood up to leave.

Feeling victorious and satisfied, Na-mu smiled confidently, and his smugness was radiating so much that Sa-Rang who just approached him with the first aid could feel it but he shrugged off her question when she asked why.

After the stressful day, the night dawned and the next morning was when Chi-Won decided to go back to the war.

Sa-Rang noticed Chi-Won standing by an almond tree whose leaves had all withered and it beared no fruit. Under the moonlight somewhere close to the river, and an endless field of grassland on the other side made a perfect picture. Chi-Won stood there reminiscing on the few days he spent here, he could not help but sigh as he realized that he would be missing Sa-Rang's smile that melted his cold heart every time.

He felt a hand tap on his shoulder and he turned to see who it was. A smile appeared on his face when he saw her beautiful face, but he became sad almost immediately, as he thought about how he had no chance with her. He slowly turned to her and mustered all his courage to say.

"Choi Sa-Rang, yeah I know that calling your full name sounds weird but just let me use it that way. See, I know it's hard to kill this infatuation but I can try. If I can't have your heart, at least I can remain someone you will never forget, that's fine by me, I will love to be a very important part of your life, I mean I might not be able to be your other half, but I can be that older brother that you run to when you are bullied, I can be that friend that you will also keep close to you, that friend that makes you laugh the most, let me do this. I just don't want to let you out of my present. I don't want you to be a past. Please do this for me. Let me stay, even when I am away, keep me somewhere in your heart and remember me. That's all I want." He said and held her by her left hand.

"Sa-Rang, I want to be more than a friend but probably... less than a lover, please I promise you I won't ask more than that." She listened with her eyes glued to his wishful eyes. She could not bare to turn him down and as long as it wasn't something she would regret, she felt it was good to just grant his wish.

She chuckled lightly before saying, "Oppa, are you still leaving tomorrow morning?"

At first, he thought she was avoiding his request, he heaved a long sigh, but something went off in his brain, did she just call him older brother?, his eyes widened at the realisation and he felt so dumb not to have discovered on time but He was too delighted to hear her call him older brother than to care about how dumb he is, he just could not hide his joy, he was glad that at least his last wish before leaving was granted. To confirm that she wasn't just joking, he asked "Did you just call me Brother or are my ears failing me?" He dipped his pinky into his ears to clear his eardrum.

She chuckled at his actions again then said, "Oppa, why are you asking?" She again called him brother and ended her words with a round of laughter.

"Nana said that the good thing was that on that same day, they swore an oath to become siblings and since then the Yoon family and the Choi family had kept a very good relationship. The bad thing about the story was that she never saw her father again after that, but having Grandpa Hu who married into the Choi family and took his master's name to honor him was something she appreciated and would never forget, he stood by her side until death came knocking." Dan-Bi paused to look at Yo-han, when she saw his concentration, she continued.

"She lost her father but she gained a brother and a lover, who both filled the gap of her father. She said that sometimes one might lose something but the replacement will most times be a great one and even better sometimes."
