Inside the City Walls

After a short rest, the group is ready to commence their attack. The imp mages have erected a barrier fortifying the walls of the inner city. To break the wall, Althea casts her buffing spells on Rhald who was casting his most powerful spell.

Using a combination attack, Vane casts Earth erosion to weaken the protective magic circles while Bryce used Dark mist to poison the mages. Finally, Lest used her fan to blow the mist into the inner city.

As the poison begins to smother the mages, the protective spell begins to collapse. Rhald's enforced Water blast attack breaks the shield completely. Althea and Ellie cast continuous Healing on the party to keep them from the damaging effects of the Dark mist. Vane casts his Earth Golem spell and it breaks the wall within minutes.

Terrick casts a series of Explosions clearing the mouth of the inner gate. Seven figures emerge from the smoke. In front of them is a scene of chaos as imp soldiers are running in all sorts of directions. The adventurers run mana through their body and they begin to glow. They each take a different direction and screams of death and pain can be heard everywhere. Notifications begin to flood their crystal interface as they begin to level up.

Bryce using his improved physical skills made quick work of the imps he ran into. By infusing his sword with Dark element, he cut down two knight imps wearing armor by slashing straight across the chest. Another imp was stabbed in the throat and drowned in his own blood. Dark element made the sword sharper and harder by tenfold. The cheap knight armor offered little protection. Bryce could hear the constant dinging which signified that he was gaining EXP.

A group of imp commanders surround Vane hoping to overwhelm him with their sheer numbers. Using his Earth gauntlets, he punches his way through the mob. Imps fly off one by one. Each one dropping to the floor dead. Until Vane was left with the strongest and largest commander. Vane switches to a halbeard that recently dropped from one of the dead imps. Sword and halbeard violently clash in a high pitch ring of metal.

Lest encounters a cavalry of imps mounted on demon horses. Using her pan flute, she casts music magic that freaks out the demon horses. Some of them balk their riders which throws off the cavalry formation. This bought her enough time to cast Wind tornados that viciously move towards the mounted imps.

Continuous explosions can be heard as Terrick spams the group of warrior imps. At first, the explosions were small and limited. But as it leveled up quickly, the small booms grew into ear splitting bellows. The effect was also more pronounced. Each explosion was now capable of taking out handfuls of imps. Terrick didn't stop until there were none but mangled bodies in his wake.

Ellie stayed away from the brunt of the fighting. She was designated as the healer of the party which she was now capable of doing so from a distance. Her mana sensing has evolved to the point of allowing her access to the health status of each member. Because she was healing in a war zone, her EXP accumulated just as rapidly as the others.

Althea has engaged in a long-range battle with archers in the castle. The archers had the upper hand since they were in the parapets. But Althea could cast her Light arrows from the on high. She also flew which allowed her to be in the same level as the archers. Right now she was casting and maintaining at least 4 spells at any given time.

Rhald finally reaching the drawbridge of the castle launches another Water Blast which reduces the wooden door into splinters. The imps inside are wounded from the shrapnel. He enters by riding a 5-foot wave of water he conjured from the moat while Althea flies in to meet him in the castle courtyard. Standing in front of them are more imps of greater magical and battle prowess.
