The Beginning (Part 1)

In the beginning there was nothing but darkness. Then from that darkness came the light. When the two entities gained sentience, they became known as Chaos and Order. Together they began to create other beings similar to themselves known as Gods, and then those creations began to create more beings in their own image. As these beings created more, the Originals of Chaos and Order discovered that their own creations, the Gods, began killing other created beings, the mortals, in order to steal the strong souls that were created. This led to chaos between all the Gods and the mortals. That was until Chaos and Order decided to create another Original that would be able to control the souls of the Gods and the mortals. Chaos and Order created the twin Originals known as Life and Death. These two Originals, who were of the same being, brought order between the souls and were able to control what soul goes where. But another problem arose.

The souls that were reborn had memories of the past, resulting in another round of chaos. Souls began to crave revenge because of the wrongs that were brought upon them in the past. The twin Originals of Life and Death decided to create a tree. This tree would be able to spread its roots throughout each planet, universe, and dimension in which the Original of Death would guide the souls to the tree roots where they are then absorbed. From the roots the souls travel upward, being cleansed of impurities until they reach the branches and grow into leaves. When it is time for new life, the leaves will fall and travel to their destinated paths created by the Original of Life. The Originals of Life and Death named their creation, Kiola(1), the Tree of Life.

Kiola looked like the mortal tree, Acacia koa(2), from a distant galaxy. Except the sickle shaped leaves from this tree were gold, silver, grey, or black, while the pure white puff flowers were scarce. But in the areas where they were visible, they varied in size. Many souls would be cleansed through the tree, but there would be some that were exempted from going through the processes. Souls that are tainted black are those that are cursed or in the process of going through their punishment. When the leaf is grey then that soul is going through punishment and are almost done with it. When their punishment is over, they will turn silver. Silver colored leaves are those souls who are mortal, and they can be reborn as anything from small organisms to becoming another mortal.

Now for the gold colored leaves those are the souls of Gods. They can die like any other mortal but if they wish to be reincarnated as a regular mortal or creature, then they must relinquish their powers as a God. While gold is considered rare, the pure white flowers that are scattered around the branches of the tree are far more valuable. The reason is because the pure white flowers represent a powerful soul that is neither mortal nor God, but a special individual that has the making of becoming powerful on either the path of a mortal or a God. And in rare occasions, Gods can choose these souls to become their subordinates or even…their champions.
