What a farce

Though it might have been lively at the viscount's manor, the rest of the city was quiet after a certain hour. Traffic in and out of Renlu would quell as well, such was the usual occurrence that happened when Su Zui held one of his banquets.

It was a beautiful night out, with the sky clear and the stars visible. The wind was calm and the air clear. The moon's silver shine outlined the roads and He Nao took his time to take in the natural scenery. Next to him was his reluctant partner in his outdoors midnight walk. Sen Siyu was sulking and dragging his feet and bore a somber mood.

He still wasn't ready to accept the knowledge that He Nao shared with him, one about the previous life that he knew being one that was false. A mere illusion, or something. A conjuring of a spell that used to protect the souls of bygone deities.

What a farce.

And yet…
