A long heavy sigh sounded from behind Leo as Wenella entered from the open window like a thief.
"Hehe..." Leo gave out a short guilty laugh as he walked over to a table and sat down and signalling her to join him.
"So... You take us halfway across the kingdom to go to the Capital and now you want to take us back to where we came from?" Wenella ridiculed with annoyance as she folded her legs and sat down.
"Hehe..." Leo simply did the same thing again.
"Speak, will you?" Wenella said with a slight tone of anger.
"Fine. I'm not confident about the Capital anymore now. How about we do it this way, I will take Garrick tomorrow and we will sign up as a mercenary group and you will go to the Capital and see if you can find a cure for Laura?" Leo suggested.
"I like that idea," Wenella agreed, "I'll be taking Laura with me though."
"Ok. I have no problem with that," Leo replied, "How long do you think you will take to use all your cards?"
"Huh?" Wenella asked confusedly.
"How much time will it take for you to ask everyone that you think you have a chance to heal Laura with?"
"Oh. I'd say about two days," Wenella stopped for a few seconds to think it over before answering.
"Ok, let's do it this way. Me and Garrick will sign up at a city that is about a day's travel away from here while you go to the Capital and see if you can find any help. If you are unable to find any help then do you best to look around and find a good medical art and come back to this town. Me and Garrick will come back here and wait for three days. If you don't make it by then, then we will presume you found a cure and we will take our leave and go to the battlefield," Leo informed Wenella his plan.
"Hmm... Ok," Wenella agreed after a few seconds of thought.
"I hope you don't find a cure, I want you to be the leader of our mercenary group," Leo spoke to Wenella before sighing.
"Haha! So you do have a brain after all. We'll see about that," Wenella replied with a surprised laughter.
"Go to your room now. I want to be alone for a bit," Leo told her as he stood up and opened the door for her.
"Yes. Sorry for intruding so suddenly. I keep forgetting that your stronger than me," Wenella joked with a smile before leaving the room.
"Sigh... Life always has a way," Leo spoke to himself as he closed the door and walked towards the bed.
He then went into the Nether mansion again and made his way into the main atrium then to the unsealing hallway.
His head rose as he looked forward at the heavy two double doors that were open. During the six years that they spend in the Decan Clan, Leo had successfully opened the second door. And it surprised him that this somehow managed to give him some unexpected bonuses.
A new room was unlocked in the library. It did not have a name but Leo was able to speak to anyone who had a wisp of his energy in this room so he called it the meeting room.
Along with that, he was also able to gain access to a new upgrade in the training room and it now revealed the cultivation realms that followed after origin realm.
They were:
Initial Energy:
Vein opening, manipulation, gathering, condensing, emission
Refinement Energy:
Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4, 5 , 6, 7
Origin energy:
Stage 1, Stage 2, stage 3, stage 4, 5,6,7
Pure energy:
Gathering, river, tributaries collection, Ocean spring
Moon Saint:
New Moon, Early Crescent Moon, Half Moon, Late Crescent Moon, Full Moon
Stellar Saint:
Sun Saint
This was the reason why Leo was able to stay so calm when he realized that the Jade emperor was a Moon Saint. He had currently only opened two of the seven doors and his energy was already able to contend with stage two origin realm experts so there must be more realms past Sun Saint and that was his source of confidence. If he opened the next door he must be able to contend against at least New Moon cultivators.
But that did not seem plausible currently right now. The requirement on the third door were:
Killing intent tribulation: Second wave(Not met)
Killing intent: Level five(Body enhancement) (Not met)
Bloodline acquired (Not met)
He had been living for only thirteen years and was still yet to meet his first killing tribulation. A second one just seemed so far into the future and not just that he was even required to obtain a bloodline which was also hard to find. Only the second target seemed achievable right now.
Leo heaved a long sigh as he looked out the window from his bed.
Such a long road ahead of me. Where am I supposed to find such strong motivation? My will isn't strong enough.
I'm incredibly stupid. I totally forgot that I am suffering from a disease. Hahahaha!
Leo laughed as his short mental session was broken by his sudden realization.
He then decided to go over to the meeting room and he contacted Aurora and Lex. And they talked for a whole hour before they stopped and Leo slowly drifted off to sleep. Lex was still on his journey but the people did not treat him badly at all because of him but Leo was incredibly worried about him. His soul energy was slowly to grow and he had to get Lex's talent up to diamond as quick as he could since he would have a lot of competition and he did not want Lex to suffer but currently his affinities were all at four-ringed pink so he should be fine for now.
Aurora was doing quite alright as well. They both had not made it to their destinations yet so there was not much to report on yet but both were doing great so that made Leo quite happy and satisfied as he could rest his heart peacefully.
As he slowly drifted off to sleep, another scene was happening in one of the houses in the town. In one of the windows of the house, Garrick was standing right in front of a beautiful woman who had an extremely angry look on her face which slowly turned to tears as their conversation slowly turned into an argument. Translucent tears of extremely heartfelt emotion fell from her eyes as she embraced the man extremely lovingly as if she would never see him again.
Creak!
A door slowly creaked open as a trio of children ran into the room with tears on their face as they hugged their loving father.
A loving fatherly smile appeared on Garrick's face as he hugged them tightly.
A lonely king stood at the tallest tower of his castle that overlooked his kingdom. A calm look that indicated countless years of experience appeared on his face as he sighed deeply.
"Your majesty!" a messenger ran out from the door.
"What is it?" the king asked as he did not even turn around.
"I bring news from the battlefront," the messenger answered.
"Ok. Report it," the king instructed.
"The front lines are not doing so good but the help from the mercenaries and sects have brought both sides to a stalemate but to do so we have lost about fifty kilometres of land. We must make sure that no sect will betray us otherwise we will inevitable lose this war," the messenger replied.
"I see..." the king spoke with extremely difficulty hidden in his voice.
"What about the Heaven's Wrath sect? I recall we had an extremely good relationship with them and even my nephew is a disciple there. Are they helping at the front lines?" the king asked suddenly.
A large bolt of lightning seemed to strike the messengers body as he involuntarily shook with uneasiness. Beads of sweat immediately appeared on his forehead as he replied, "My dear king, your nephew has been reported to be killed."
"What?!" the king asked with shock, "What about his personal guard?"
"Sir Quinn was also killed. Their life talismans both stopped lighting at the same day," the messenger replied.
The king heaved another heavy sigh as he asked, "Do we have any information on the killer?"
"No, your majesty. We last heard from Quinn when he said that the young master lusted over a village girl but his henchmen accidentally killed her. She then came back to the sect with a boy who looked like a six-year-old and a teenage girl. The girl was able to fight back cultivators of stage five refinement realm. Then a mysterious woman and an elder from the sect also joined the fight. That's all he said before we lost contact with him," the messenger answered like his life depended on his reply.
"When did his talisman burn out?"
"About two hours after his last entry, your majesty."
"Interesting. A girl who is able to fight refinement realm cultivators at thirteen is a genius," the king spoke to himself with an extremely conflicted expression on his face.
"The Gods of Fate, please help me," the king spoke as he looked up to the sky.
