Six Days Six Lessons, Gabriel

In what felt like but a moment, the sixth day of his impromptu schooling had begun. This time, however, Cyrus was not greeted by anyone when awaking. When he left his tent he noticed all the familiar faces already had packed up their belongings and were ready to travel, with Cyrus' own horse having already been prepared. He noticed the slight tension on his travelling companions faces and so he walked over with a curious mind. Upon arriving, everyone looked at him while only Gabriel spoke up as he tended to do as the de facto leader of the group,

"Good morning Cyrus, today should be your lesson with me but it seems Mundus has other plans for us. Mount your horse and let us be on our way, hopefully we can avoid any trouble but if not it seems our lesson will be one of the utmost practicality." As he finished he gave a signal to the rest, of whom responded by taking out all their weapons from Adara's storage equipment and either equipping them or putting them on their horses pack for ease of access. At this, Cyrus noted that while the frontline fighters of the party were not wearing their heavy armor, they were still wearing clothing that identified their positions and ranks. The Legionaries of the group were even wearing padded cloth clothing with a light chainmail on top, on their arms one could see the classic insignia of their order crossed with the Imperial Leo. Adara also had outfitted herself, but instead of defensive wear she instead had black gloves on carved with various runes and had her normally flowing golden hair tied back.

Cyrus did as he was told and mounted his horse preparing for riding, while also outfitting himself seeing the rest do so, but was now full of more curiosity than ever. Donning his half mask while equipping his short sword, he asked Fauve who was the closest to him in their formation.

"What kind of trouble are we expecting?"

To which Fauve wasted no time in heartily explaining his knowledge,

"We do not know the specifics, but we know that something had most likely happened further down the road. All of us here have a military background of some kind, or like me and has had the pleasure of being hired by them time and time again, so we have a keen understanding of basic imperial protocol. Specifically, the Imperial Scouts. Every two to three days a small scouting party will ride from outpost to outpost, covering impressive distances every day, to make sure that there is nothing obstructing the roads and that all the nearby settlements are not under any major distress. These men could be considered elite amongst the general populace and have to undergo harsh training and survive intense conditions to get where they are. They are even required to exterminate any threats they find assuming that it is within their capabilities to act. Now, the reason why we know that there is trouble ahead is because of these very men… or in this case the lack of them."

To this Cyrus easily understood, lining it up with the information on the scouts he already knew

"So what you are saying is that the regularly scheduled patrol has not passed us by yet, which means that they met with enemies and are engaging or they were possibly wiped out" guessed Cyrus.

"Correct indeed, now, be ready we will be leaving soon. Regardless of what is happening ahead, be prepared for that extra practical application hahaha!"

As Fauve displayed his unique sense of humor, Gabriel whistled and gave the order to move forward. Each member of the group immediately formed up, with all of them putting Cyrus at the center of their formation next to Adara. The Legionaries brought up the front and flanks while Fauve brought up the rear and with that, they set off.
