The Awakening

In this world, you need to understand something; the weak are tools, and the strong dominate, but me I plan on changing things with this one day. My name is Ezra Wolfram, I hail from the wolf clan, and my attribute is lightning I'm considered special, and people like me are called variants. In this world, we are tied to four elements. The elements herald from our ancestors (the founders of our nation Adrasteia) who made pacts with the elemental kings. The four kings of the elements lord Azreal of fire, lord Alister of the earth, lord Nix of water , and finaly lord Fujin of the wind. When the ancestors made these pacts with them, the four kings granted unsermountable amount of power, from which generations upon generations from then produced well us. Insane wars have been waged for the right to say who's clan, or king is superior. Not that any of that matters that was then, and this is now; I have never really been one to dwell on the past, and don't really care to... My goal is to turn this world on it's head, and fix this reality of ours. Today marks April 21st of the year 22XX my 18th birthday. I stretched my arms out let out a Lion like roar of a yawn. From which my sister Emery throws her brush at my head "SHUT UP!" Emery said with a look that says TRY ME.

"OW UNNECESSARY!!" I screamed as I rubbed my head. Emery is nervous for me cause today is the day that defines my life forever. Emery is 20, and the day of her awakening was 2 years ago from which she was acknowledged as a regular wind style user. Today is the day my true affinity comes out so its dress to impress for all the elders. I dress in a simple black t-shirt and rugged jeans. "Are you seriously wearing that, you know today is important so please take it serious Ez come on what is dad going to say?" Emry looking at me with concern, racked with nervousness that you'd think it was her awakening day. "Em dad won't care as long as I'm clean he doesn't get mad at stuff like this he just wants to see us live an easy life, thats something he's drilled in our heads since we came out of our mom so chill out, and on top of that I'm more then likely just going to be awarded as reg wind caster so there will be jobs for days, and we'll live a nice quiet life like like". I said to her convincingly, but in my heart something told me today is not going to be easy, I need to be on guard. Emery and I walk up to the temple of the wolf, and what we see would shock any tourist, but us its nothing special just our ancestor the wolf and lord Fujin walking side by side. "Man its my turn", I say with a half smile, and sweat rolling down my head. Our father standing at the foot of the temple arms spread out wide, his six foot in height and an arm span that looks like it could wrap around you twice over. "MY SON! MY HANDSOME SON!" as he bear hugs me, "Dad can't breathe, crushing precious air out of lungs". My father lets go, and looks me up and down, "wow did you get taller? I swore I was taller than you before, now we're the same height HAHAHA" I guess I did get taller didn't even notice. "Alright let's get this started so we can get this show on the road, and head to the feast! As we walk in the temple embroidered with gold and silver, statues of heros of our clan align the walls, and at the end lies my fate, two black doors made from obsidian await me. Our father pushes the door open, and we walk in. One other person is here for they're awakening. I line up next to them, and elder Zephyr bellows "Touch the orb, present the orbs findings!" First was the stranger, she lays her hand on the orb and it glows a bright orange. "Strange I never thought a pyro would be here in our land" I thought to my self. The stranger gave the orb to the elder and quickly left. My turn, I approached the orb laid my hand upon it, and thats when it happened the orb shattered and lightning erupted out from the shards, and filled the room. I was engulfed by the lightning me , and it were one, no we are one. To say I am a wind caster is a joke I bare the power of the ancestor me the one who was deemed the weakest in the clan now have the power to change everything I just didn't know it yet.
