Do you deserve forgiveness?

"Lily..." I uttered. I was feeling a lot of emotions that was hard to put in words.

I never thought that Lily was a wolf in sheep's clothing. I guess you never truly know someone unless you marry them, but in my case when you are back stabbed.

I lightly clapped my hands and chuckled. Miguel watched me with a bemused expression while Lily sank her head down. She clearly didn't want to meet my eyes.

"I must give you an applause for fooling me like that. To think an innocent girl like you was wicked as hell. You could be Vicky number 2. What did you gain from doing this to me?" I tilted my head.

Lily bit her lip and didn't answer. I frowned, annoyed by her lack of answer.

"Speak. I'm talking to you. Vicky told you to do this to me, right? What did she give you? Why did you do this?"

Lily lifted her head and met my eyes. She could see how furious I was and if I was not weak right now, I would have slapped the hell out of her.

"Tell her what you told me," said Miguel, finally breaking the ice. Lily fiddled with her fingers. She exhaled and inhaled, and then began to speak.

"W-well it is true that Vicky was the one who told me to do t-this to you. I don't know what you did to her that set her off, but I think it was when you insulted that she was sleeping with the old man. She was planning to do this to you secretly, and hire some thugs to your place but suddenly changed her mind.

S-she said that she wanted to do s-something worse than mess up your place,"

"So drugging me part?" I asked

Lily gulped, her arms becoming sweaty. "S-she told me to make sure you are upstairs after taking the drug for.."

"for what?" I asked impatiently.

"Once you go unconscious because of the drug, Mr Richard is supposed t-take you into his room. V-Vicky would find a way to bring a paparazzi in so that they can find you i-in bed with him. It would bring a scandal to you and um...taint. your reputation. You would be fired, humiliated and would probably have no choice but move...which is exactly what Vicky wants. That's it..." trailed Lily and kneeled on the ground.

"I'm so sorry!" she apologized.

After everything I heard, my mind was blank. I couldn't believe someone could make such a crazy plan for what?! For me to simply tell her the truth and not being a push over!

I stared coldly at Lily. "Why did you decide to follow along with her plan?" I asked.

Lily still kneeling on the floor with her head on the ground said, "I needed money, really badly. I only have my little brother who I look after, now that I am legally an adult. This year he suddenly became deathly ill. It is a serious disease that can be cured with surgery but it cost a lot of money. It took me off guard and I was stressed. I vowed to do anything even give up my own body just to be able to help my brother, my only family!" droplets began falling from Lily's eyes, "When Vicky proposed this, I took it because I thought, 'What can I do? It's the only way I can afford the surgery for my brother'. I pushed down my guilty conscious and just beared with it. I let my desire to help my brother cloud my judgement and my morals! My reason does not justify for what I did and I am so sorry. I don't ask for forgiveness because I don't deserve it!" silently cried Lily.

I was silent contemplating what I should say. What lily did was horrible and it would cost me and my child's life but...I should not forget that Lily was in a weak moment and Vicky took advantage of it. It is not my right to judge her, even if she was part of the plan to ruin me.

I sighed and softened my gaze. "You can stand up Lily. I...will never ever forget what you almost indirectly did to me but I can see that... you really are sincere with your apology. So for that I forgive you,"

More tears flowed from Lily's eyes and Miguel slightly widened his eyes.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you," repeated Lily, like a broken record.

I lightly smiled and soon reverted to a serious expression. "So what should I do about Vicky? Lily do have any other evidence for what Lily was planning to do to me?" I asked. Lily shook her head.

Now how can I do this? I want Vicky locked up for what she did to me?

Miguel spoke, breaking my train of thoughts.

He turned to me and lightly smiled. My heart, the traitor, beated faster as a result.

"You don't have to worry about that. The best way to put someone in jail is for them to confess their crimes themselves."

"And how will I do that?" I asked.

Miguel eyes sparkled with a glint. "It's not I, but we. You don't have to worry about that. Before this night ends,Vicky will be out of your life...for good.

I shivered a bit nervous for some reason, including Lily.

One thing I know is that Vicky defiantly doesn't deserve my forgiveness.
