"Casual Shopping"

"And that's the Adventurer's Guild. People go there to create requests for us adventurers. Although we are adventurers, it is more of a handyman occupation since there aren't many requests that ask for us to go on actual adventures besides someone's backyard." Aldous said, pointing at the sign protruding from the building. It was a simple design of a sword behind a shield.

"Well, that should be all of the important places. Anywhere you planning to go before we watch the Martial Championship?" He asked.

"Is there a weaponsmith anywhere here?" I asked.

"Weaponsmith? Well there are a lot of great blacksmiths here at the capital. But don't you already have two spears?"

"Yes, but I need some things." I said.

I had more than enough weapons, but all the weapons in the storage ring were Mythical tier. Since I needed to feed Rare weapons to the Molten Spear of Mutilation to evolve it, I would have to purchase them. Money shouldn't be a problem since I had 30 Gold Coins, which was a hefty sum.

—5 minutes later—

"This is the Black Forge, one of the best armor and weapon shops around." He said.

The display window showed a whole assortment of cool looking weapons, but to me, they looked to be for ornamental purposes instead of actual fighting.

Entering through the open doors, the first thought that came to mind was a jewelry store. Everything about this place was like a jewelry store. From the glass tables to the shiny suits of armor, it all spelled the word, "expensive."

After glancing around at the weapons, I eyed the one that looked to be of the worst quality as well as priced the cheapest.

It was a simple dagger made with a metal that was rocky grey.

'Appraise.'

Iron-stone Dagger(Epic):

A dagger made of Iron-stone.

When Equipped: Strength+1, Agility+3

1. Sharp: Cuts easily

After appraising a couple other weapons, I determined that this place was too good to be selling any Rare weapons. The lowest quality they had was Epic, with most of the weapons being around Supreme and Legendary rank. None of them were Mythical though.

As we were about to head out. Someone bumped into me.

"Excuse you." She said, pushing past me.

She was dressed rather extravagantly, so she was probably a noble or something.

Getting back to leaving, another person bumped into me... My mistake, I meant a whole group of people. Four of them got past me while the rest stayed behind, blocking the entrance. Besides one of them who did not have a helmet on, they were all dressed like knights as implicated by the heavy metal armor each of them wore.

"Princess, please wait for us. We are supposed to be your bodyguards!" The guy without a helmet said.

Since the bunch of knights were blocking the entrance, me and Aldous were unable to leave the store.

"Oh, the princess is wreaking havoc again it seems." Said Aldous, who was watching the scene behind me with great interest.

Since that person was a princess and these knights were her bodyguard, it didn't look like it would be respectful to shove my way past the knights even though it was them who were blocking my path. Ahh, how annoying.

"This is supposed to be the best blacksmith store right?" Said the woman.

"Of course it is, your royal highness." The owner of the store said.

That was weird, when we were in the store, the owner was completely non-existent. But when a big-shot appeared, he immediately poofed into existence.

"Then how can you explain this? It's made of Iron-stone! If this is the best blacksmith store, then why are the metals used of such low quality? I came here to buy a present for my brother and the first thing I see is a low quality weapon like this? Fire your blacksmiths!" She said, pointing at the dagger.

'God damn, it's a real life karen!'

"Sorry your royal highness, I'll have that done right away." The owner said, clearly annoyed. I doubt he was actually going to fire the blacksmiths.

"Every single time I come around here for some casual shopping, there is always such rubbish in these stores. If it weren't for my benevolence, I would have closed your store for falsely advertising to be the best. Now show me the best sword here."

"Of course your royal highness." The owner replied again in a supposedly respectful manner. He must have already gotten used to it.

"Ah, that one looks fine. What is it." The woman said, pointing at a rainbow sword with a whole lot of other accessories on it. To be honest, it looked more like a ceremonial sword instead of an actual sword.

"Ah, this one is the Rainbow Thorn. It was made with your royal highness' interests in mind." The owner said with a smile which was probably fake.

"Splendid, I will take this one then." She said, waving her arm.

"I'll have it packed right away, your royal highness."

With that, the woman took her leaving, pushing past me and Aldous as if we were never there. The knight without a helmet followed her but as he was about to pass us, he nodded his head down toward us as if telling us sorry for the disturbance. All the other knights followed suit and left the store after that.

Looking back at the store before leaving, I noticed the owner was once again nowhere to be seen.

"Heh, I guess that's that. You said, you want a cheaper store right?" Aldous said, taking the lead in front of me.

"Yeah."

That encounter with the real life Karen opened my eyes a bit. It looks like I should be expecting to meet some sort of arrogant young master some time in the future. Even though such a person sounds completely two dimensional and from out of a web novel, my gut feeling was telling me it will happen one day.
