School Encounter

Gladly our company meeting has ended at an earlier time. I did not stay long but left when Manager Jang nodded at me, sending a gesture, 'you can leave.'

Manager Jang has been somewhat thoughtful lately. Until now, it left me in wonder. 'What's gotten to him?'

I know there are changes. Being a goddess benefited me a lot, and it will be easy for me to determine the people's behavior in my surroundings. That is why Manager Jang's changes surprise me after three years of working in that company.

Anyway, I shouldn't think of this matter, but worry if when the bus will arrive. I checked the time. I would be late if I got stuck in traffic. From here, I have to take a bus, then stop at an avenue with a subway station toward my kid's Academy.

'All right, it will cost me, but I better look for a cab.'

I took out my phone and looked for a ride in Uber. But the one nearby was caught by traffic. It was the same with another service car. It

"What the heck? Why am I unlucky today? I'm a goddess! Being lucky is a natural flow in the Law of Fortunate, and naturally, I could attract the Force of Luck. But why was the opposite happening to me?"

I was talking to myself while walking restlessly at the bus stop. 'Did Heaven punish me and take my luck away?'

Then… the latest red Ford GT stopped in front of me. 'What is this?'

The passenger car window rolled down, and it surprised me to recognize the driver.

"Hop in."

"Huh?" I'm still dumbfounded.

"I said I would drop you at your destination."

"I-- in, you don't need to do that, Vice President Smith." I refuse. 'He doesn't mention a thing. What's his deal?'

"I told you to call me Shane."

"Huh?" It made me dumbfounded once again.

Who is this person that suddenly appeared as Superman Save the Day?

"Miss Henderson, each second has a value. If you want to think it over first, if you accept my offer, how about taking a shortcut and accepting my kindness instead?"

'Whaaaaat??' Luna reacted...

'Who is this guy!?' she asked.

Even I-- was also surprised by his principles, and I began agreeing with his notion.

So then, I found myself riding this luxury car. There were only two seats, so I sat beside him, and he was speeding up. Everyone stares at his shining, mesmerizing vehicle, which no one dares to bump him into, or else they must pay an unimaginable sum.

For years of living here, I studied how Earthen lived an ordinary life. And getting close to rich kids is not advisable, especially if that person is your boss.

"Mr. Vice President, this is not the way toward the bus stop."

"I know."

I'm speechless.

'Let me out here, and I will beat that guy!'

'No need, Luna. Just let me humanly manage this.'

'Hmph!'

She's throwing tantrums. I have been noticing this... Luna is boiling her blood toward this guy. Doesn't she like him? It made me wonder.

"Mr. Vice President, you can drop me off at a nearby subway station."

"Why?"

"What, why? I'm taking the train to get to my children's school," I reasoned.

"We're halfway now."

'Huh? Is the--' I looked at his GPS. My eyes widened, and I glanced at him with amazement. 'He and this guy always made me unable to comment.'

"How did you know which school my children went to?"

"I look up at your data."

Hah. Convincing. Surely he could do that. But what confused me was why he gave me this favor.

'Don't fall for his charm.'

'Luna! What are you talking about? Of course, I want to know why he's showing kindness. It made me wonder if he would lend a hand to all of his employees if they were in a situation like mine, for example, or how if a different one?'

Sigh... I have to explain to Luna. I could see that she didn't like him.

'Anyway, I could sense Lion's sensibility in him. He has a sense of duty toward his Pride, his company.'

'Even so...' Luna pouted.

I know that Shane was likely an unjust one. So an expectation is that he will insist on what he would like to do.

In the next 15 minutes, we finally arrived at school. I hurried to get out. There are 10 minutes left, and the meeting will begin.

"Thank you so much, Vice President Smith," I said, and he frowned. 'What a mood.' It stunned me great.

"I told you to call me Shane."

OMG! Do I need to deal with him now? I am running late!

"I will do that next time, Mr. Vice President. But I have to go now," I said and bowed. Then, I turned around and left without looking back again.

If our talk continues, I won't catch the beginning of the meeting. That guy was talkative, and his physical aura defied his attitude. At first impression, he seems serious and won't open his mouth and spare to talk to you. But the 20 minutes inside the car with him was like giving me a job interview plus my personal life.

I wonder if, usually, a boss should ask his employee about their personal life story. Most of my time working in the company is spent doing inventory, completing my reports, and reporting them to my boss.

And during social activities, I attend less to our company gatherings, such as Earth celebrating Christmas parties, New Year's, and more festivities throughout the year… which means I haven't interacted much with the executives in the company.

"Mommy!"

Janus and Aisha meet me in the hallway.

"Hi, babies! How was it?"

"Don't worry, mom. Our Adviser was in the Principal's Office, and he's not coming back yet."

Janus told me. In the end, luck did not leave me yet, and it was an overwhelming one. First, my boss personally drove me to school. I arrived on time, and we're still waiting for my kid's Homeroom Adviser.

I stepped inside the classroom, and several parents were there already. I took the seat; the one Aisha told me was her desk.

Sitting here, I sense the atmosphere is getting unpleasant. A specific group of parents is looking in my direction, and I don't need to use my ability to determine this. I was sitting in the back, so they were glancing behind them.

Well, I spotted 2 of my neighbors, so I won't be surprised if they start gossiping about me. They just kept quiet when the Adviser came in.

"Hello, parents. I am very sorry if I took longer to appear. I hope everyone is doing well. By the way, my name is Mr. Thomas Sy. Aside from being the 4th-Grade Class Adviser, I will also handle Math and Science. So then, I will be watching closely with your children. Now we move on. There is someone I would like to introduce to you."

The door opens, a tall, handsome young man in his mid-20s with Auburn color hair enters the room, and the rest of the mothers' gasp and squeal. As for me, it's more like a shock, but I keep calm.

"Good afternoon, parents. My name is Mikael Davis," he introduces himself.

"Now, parents, Mr. Davis is the grandson of Chairman Davis from Davis Corporation. Starting today, he is our new Guidance Counselor here at Michael Davis Academy. So, if any problems with your kids and your kids are facing a problem here in the Academy, you could reach out to Mr. Davis; at the same time, he will contact you when some matter occurs."

Most mothers cannot avert their gaze from the Guidance Counselor, which this guy keeps glancing in my direction. I hate to say this, but there were no other people he paid attention to, but he only fixed his gaze on my order.

I'm glad it was a quick meeting that lasted only an hour. I used the other door and took significant steps to leave that place.

"Miss Zelena, wait up."

I halted but did not turn around. Instead, I waited for the person to catch me up.

"Hi!"

"Hello, Mr. Davis. Is there something wrong?" I asked, using a formal tone.

"No. I just wanted to say that I am happy to see you here. It's been years!"

I wished Mikael would pretend that he didn't know me. But he has grown so tall and looks very mature now that he is 25 years old. But I didn't think he was a grandson of a Chairman of a big company. I met him seven years ago in a small European country when my kids were toddlers.

Now he is a grown-up man.

'He looks the same annoying teenager back then.'

Luna commented. It the usual for her to share her opinion.

'What is he doing here?' Luna asked.

'I don't know, Luna.'

Honestly, I didn't know what life awaited me, especially when I met a person who knows us and now lives in the same city as I am.
