Sam's Plan

---Lara pov---

We are now heading toward the dragon triangle to find the long lost island of Yematai, which I suggested to Roth, who believed me. Currently, I am on the deck thinking about what Alex said about who Joseph is. Not once did I ever feel that he was some sort of treasure hunter, I thought he was some veteran who retired early.

While thinking, someone stood beside me and looked at the sunset. I looked who was next to me as I was surprised that Joseph was there looking at me with his burning gaze. I quickly looked away from his gaze, but Joseph grabbed my waist and turned me around to face him.

Joseph: "you seriously think you can run away." he said while smirking at me. His face got closer to mine, but I pushed him away.

Lara: "Stop Joseph, I don't want to have a broken heart again." I looked at Joseph, who had a sad look on his face. "And I don't know who you are anymore."

Joseph: "Sorry, Lara, I wasn't thinking straight before I let you go this time, my heart and mind know what they want, and they want you." he said while his gazed burned my skin. "And Lara, about my identity, there is something I need to tell you.." but before he could say anything, someone interrupted us.

Sam: "I must say, Joseph, you are quick with your feet… can I have Lara for a bit." she said while forcefully pulling me away from Joseph's comfortable arm and dragged me away from him. I looked at Joseph, who had a frown on his face, then sighed afterward.

A few minutes later, Sam dragged me toward the front of the ship. She looked at me with a questioning gaze and started talking to me about my relationship with Joseph.

Sam: "So are you going to go back to his arms," she said while looking at me with a worried look on her face. "If I were you, you shouldn't just jump back into his arms, not knowing if he would break your heart again."

Lara: "So what do you want me to do? I am a bit confused about what I have to do." I said while looking towards Sam for help. Sam looked at me while holding up her chin to think then suddenly she looked at me with a wicked gaze on her eyes.

Sam: "Why not avoid him for a month, the same way he did to you and make him work hard to get your affection back." she said while laughing out loud. "If he would go to any length to get you back, then you could go back to him." I looked at Sam with my doubtful look on my face.

----Joseph pov----

I have been trying to talk to Lara, but she would always avoid me when I tried to corner her in any way; someone would always interrupt me when I tried to speak with her. Now I am in Jonah's room to talk to Jonah as to why Lara has been busy.

Joseph: "Jonah, why has Lara been avoiding me." I said while suspiciously looking at him. Jonah looked at me with an estranged look on his face.

Jonah: "Joseph, when you were working for SCP, did you do anything strange like travel around the world looking for relics of the past." he said while looking at me with worry. I narrowed my eyes in suspicion as I looked at Jonah.

Joseph: "where did you get this information." I said while looking at him with a stern look in my face. "If you know something, keep it to yourself. I don't want anything happening to you or our family. And yes, I did go around the world collecting some relic of the past."

Jonah: "why won't you tell me." he said while looking at me with worry. "We are family, and family doesn't keep secret with each other." I looked at him for a minute before sighing in the end and decided to tell him part of my secret I have been hiding.

Joseph: "Jonah, have you ever thought that our world keeps secrets from us hidden in history books." when I said this, Jonah looked at me with confusion. "I will give you a piece of advice from a friend of mine 'history could be wrong sometimes.' There are mysteries out there that need to stay secret from the rest of the world." I looked at him with a severe gaze on my eyes. "I will tell you my story eventually, but not right now, I don't want to endanger you from my enemies that are chasing me." Jonah looked at me with worry but ultimately let his curiosity go.

Jonah: "I will let this thing go, but you have to tell me your secrets eventually." he said while walking toward the door to exit his room.

Joseph: "Yeah, I will, but first, I need to talk to someone." I said while getting up off Jonah's bed and walking toward Jonah to follow him when Jonah heard my words paused for a second and turned to me with a worried look on his face.

Jonah: "about Lara, Sam had decided that because you break Lara's heart, you have to chase after her now." he said with a guilty look on his face. "Everyone agreed to help Lara, to avoid you, most of them are just doing it out of suspicion about your real identity, and others just did it out of fun like Sam and me." when I heard this I just sighed in defeat.

Joseph: "So our roles are now in reverse I have to chase after Lara to prove to her that I am committing to our relationship," I said while looking at Jonah.

Jonah: "pretty much; it's your fault that you let her slip through your fingers when she was literally on your hands." he said, laughing at me who wasn't looking too good right now. While walking upstairs toward the deck, I remembered Jonah saying everyone is suspicious about my identity. When we reached the outside of the ship, I asked Jonah a question.

Joseph: "Jonah, who was the one who knew about my identity." When I said that, I looked at Jonah to answer my question. Jonah then paused for a second, then responded to my inquiry.

Jonah: "oh, its…" but before he could continue his words. Both of our attention were drowned by Alex, who fell off the ship.
