A Race Against Time

While having a quick nap, I heard music in the distance. I slowly opened my eyes to adjust my eyes to the blinding light coming from the campfire. I summoned my IDroid and looked up the time.

Joseph: "It's been thirty minutes since I took a nap." I said while looking at my phone, I had an idea to call someone, but that plan was flushed into the drain as I saw that I don't have any signal. "I need a signal booster or a radio tower." I shook my head and decided to stick to my original plan. "No time for finding any of those I need to find Lara and Jonah."

I got up from my sitting position and followed the music nearby; when I followed the music, I saw a building covered in vegetation. I walked towards it and saw a decaying body nearby. I was going to ignore it, but I found more fresh blood on the body. Without any delay, I went towards it and found out that this blood was from Lara.

Ava: [judging by how fresh the blood is, Ms. Croft must have been here two hours ago.] When I heard this, I scanned the area and saw old footprints leading to the building nearby. I got near the closed door and heard music coming from inside. I used my bionic arms and pried the door open. When I opened the door, the music got louder.

I walked toward the trap door on the floor, and I saw that it was pitch black down there. I grabbed my chrome lighter out of my jacket and used that as my light source. I then jumped down the trap door and landed on shallow water.

It didn't bother me and decided to move forward. While walking in what looked like an old sewage system, the water was almost coming up towards my chest. But eventually, I got to a dead-end, I looked up and saw an opening above me. I climbed the ladder and exited the building.

I scanned the area around me and saw another smoke rising nearby. I hurriedly walked towards it and saw another empty campsite with a lit campfire. With a disappointed look on my face, I decided to look around more for more clues.

While looking around near the campsite, I saw a bear trap that was already triggered. I decided to go and investigate it and saw that there was blood on the steel jaws and a bullet dent on the side to release the grip of the jaws.

When I saw this, my heart beat faster; I looked around the area and saw dead wolves near the bear trap. I hurriedly went toward them, and I was surprised and relieved at the same time when I saw the dead wolf.

Joseph: "I don't know where you learned how to use a bow, Lara, but thank god, you know how to use one." I said while smiling at the wolf that has an arrow pierced on its head. "That's good that you're still alive, Lara, I would kiss the person who saved you from the bear trap."

When I finished checking out the wolf, I heard more movements near the bushes. I was going to take out my gun but decided not to as I hear a low growl coming from the forests.

Joseph: "Just some wolf, don't need to waste ammo on them.." I said while catching a wolf that was jumping towards me. I used my bionic arms and crushed the wolf's skull; I didn't delay and used my other hand and grabbed another wolf that was pouncing together with the wolf I just killed. The same way I killed the other wolf, I did the same to this one.

After killing the wolf, I looked around and found no more clues to where Lara is right now; I decided to follow the stoned path that leads towards an eastern styled gate. When I reached the gate, I tried to open it by myself, but it needed two people to open the gate. I looked around and saw that there was a climbable roof that I could use my grappling hook and climbed my way up and skipped opening the gate.

With a plan in my mind, I pointed my bionic arm towards the roof and transformed my arm into a grappling hook. A few seconds later, I was now on top of the gate and was about to climb down when I saw people walking around with a torch. I slowly climbed down, and I silently listened to the group's conversation.

Man #1: "brat, u tebya yest' sigarety?" when I heard them talking, I swore softly to myself and asked Ava to auto-translate for me.

Joseph: "Fuck..Ava from now on translates every language while I am here on this island." I said softly to myself. Ava didn't say anything, but I started hearing English again from the people I am currently eavesdropping.

Man #1: [so you said that you captured a girl with a brown ponytail.] he said while taking a cigarette from the man he is talking to right now.

Man #2: [yeah, Vladimir and his men already took her away two hours ago] he said while lighting up his cigarettes.

Man #3: [actually, we captured two people, but I would be worried for the girl] he said while having a wicked smile on his face. [knowing Vladimir he already raped the girl]

While everyone was talking, I was silently looking at them with a stoic look on my face. I didn't let my emotion take control of my judgment, but my eyes were boiling in rage at what I just heard. I pointed my suppressed gun at them and fired three shots. I killed two men while leaving the one man who was now screaming in pain on the ground.

I walked towards him and pointed the gun at his other leg that is still working. I looked at him with a sinister smile on my face and started asking him questions.

Joseph: "where is the girl." I said with a sinister smile on my face. The man looked at me in confusion and started talking to me.

Disabled Man: "Me no English," he said with his broken English, I looked at the man and stepped on his leg that had the bullet wounds. "AAAAHHH!! No English Please" I let his leg go and started talking to him again.

Joseph: [where is the girl] I said in broken Russian I just learned thanks to Ava. The man looked at me in confusion and started talking in Russian.

Disabled Man: [what did you say sir] he said while looking at me in terror as my sinister smile turned into anger, I kicked him hard on the stomach and started questioning him again.

Joseph: [the girl, where is she] I said with an impatient look on my face. The man finally realized what my question was and hurriedly answered my question.

Disable Man: [the girl is in one of the villages nearby] he said while pointing at a cloud of smoke rising a few miles from here.

While looking at the cloud of smoke rising, I pointed my gun at him without turning my head and shot him. I whispered to myself while walking towards the cloud of smoke nearby.

Joseph: "don't worry Lara, I am coming for you.."
