To The X-Class Dungeon [Chapter 37]

Throughout the rest of the day and night, we let loose and have fun. Drinking, arm wrestling, and other friendly contests and activities. As night approaches, we find an inn and crash out.

I awaken to a knock at my door. As I roll out of bed, I see Azeroth on the floor snoring and cuddling his scythe. I slowly walk up to the the door and creak it open. I see Merlin smiling and staring at me.

"Get ready, we head out in twenty minutes. Meet in the main room of the inn."

He says as he teleports away. I quickly wake up Azeroth and grab my dagger.

"Damn, I fell asleep in my boots and clothes."

He mumbles as I laugh and nod.

"Yea, me too. Come on, we need to go meet up with everyone else."

I say as he nods and follows me out of the room, dragging his scythe with him. We quickly walk downstairs to see Mia jumping around Carrina, who looks still half asleep. Vex walks over and stretches.

"Everyone looks tired, didn't sleep well?"

He asks as Azeroth props up on his scythe and yawns. A few seconds later, Merlin appears in front of our guild.

"I will teleport you to everyone else. If you need anything, now's the time to grab it."

Merlin says, pointing to Blankk who is asleep in a chair drooling on the floor. Warren quickly kicks his chair, waking him up suddenly.

"Yes sir, will do."

Blankk says while saluting the air.

"Oh, just a dream."

He mumbles and stands up. We all walk up to Merlin and nod. As we blink, we're in a small camp with everyone else. Everyone quickly looks to us before going back to doing morning routines. Arthur walks over and smiles.

"Glad you could make it, and of course we'll keep your weaker members safe. But Dante and Vex, just making sure you're still good with going in with us?"

He asks as I nod. Vex cracks his knuckles and smiles.

"Hell yea, I'm pretty sure given enough time I could take this dungeon down by myself."

Vex says as King Arthur laughs hardily and smiles.

"Now that is what I love to hear."

He says as he walks over and starts checking with other men. Alesti suddenly rides up on his wolf and sighs.

"Morning."

He says as he dismounts and walks over to us. I clench my left fist and wave with my right hand.

"I assumed we would be on horse back, but I see a noticable lack of horses."

He mumbles as Merlin appears in front of us.

"Oh, Arthur wasn't aware of my full abilties in teleportation, so he wasn't sure if I could get us there. I have since reassured him of my abilities."

Merlin says as I nod.

"Alright, so how long until we travel there?"

I ask as Merlin looks back.

"The Reapers are the only ones still preparing. They have to make sure their poisons and weapons are perfect. As soon as they finish, we should be good to go. So, I say around five minutes."

Merlin says as I nod. Vex quickly drops down and starts doing pushups. I stare at him blankly as Alesti chuckles.

"Is this his warmup routine?"

Alesti asks as I nod. Vex quickly speaks up.

"I'm just pumped, I get to fully test my abilities and go all out. It gets me excited, you know?"

He asks as Alesti sits on the grass and yawns.

"It's a really nice day today, too bad today is destined to be filled with bloodshed. And not necessarily the dungeon monsters'. It could very well be us getting slaughtered today."

Alesti says as I remember what Modred said.

If King Arthur really is planning on killing us all today, then I'll need to keep my guild away from him. But there's no solid proof for, or against the claim. I just need to be wary of both of them.

I think as I see the woman with the veil start walking towards us.

"Erita, right?"

I ask as she nods. When a crow suddenly lands on her shoulder, she quickly flips the veil back and smiles.

"Wait! It's you!?"

I say loudly as she giggles. I hear Azeroth laugh.

"Didn't you notice in the meeting?"

I shake my head as he chuckles. She quickly walks over to Alesti and smiles. He stares at her blankly as she giggles. He quickly looks away as she pokes his chin.

"Just trying to see this handsome face, since this may be the last time."

She says softly as he looks to me and sighs.

"Kid, learn from the wisdom of a sort of old man, women can be a pain."

He says as Warren starts clapping.

"Never heard anything more accurate in my life!"

Carrina starts swinging at Warren as he continues clapping and easily dodging her. While everyone laughs and jokes around, Merlin starts walking towards us.

"We're ready."

He says as I look back to see everyone give a thumbs up or a nod. We see Alesti scratch his wolf's chin and start talking to it.

"If I'm not back in an hour, head home without me."

The wolf whines and whimpers as he scratches its head and starts walking beside us. As we all huddle around Merlin, we instantly appear in front of a 40 foot tall pitch black portal.

"That's menacing."

Vex says as we all stare at it. I quickly speak up.

"Is there any reason it's so huge?"

I ask as Arthur shakes his head.

"It didn't used to be this large, it's grown."

He mumbles as I see them lock arms and let Merlin peak inside. As they pull Merlin out he sighs and scratches his chin.

"Still level four-hundred."

He mumbles as I step close to the portal and stare into the black nothingness.

"Hey, I'm starting to have second tho-"

I suddenly get pushed and fall forward slightly into the portal.

"Oh you've got to be fucking kidding me!"

I yell as I see a large creature turn and look to me.

It has 4 large red horns and 2 swords than are both about 10 feet long. It stands over 30 feet tall.

"I absolutely hope who ever pushed me into here dies."

I say as it yells and swings towards me.

I grit my teeth and ready my dagger.
