I land on the ground, Vex's limp body in my arms. I scan the area, hastily trying to find my way back to everyone. I dash down the road, seeing some heroes looking around confused.
[18 Seconds Until Buffs Wear Off]
I sigh and cancel the spells, then continue trying to find my way back. I notice Vex's skull slowly healing. I recognize the area suddenly and quickly dart down the road, then down the alleyway towards the Villains hideout. I rip the door from its hinges and see Azeroth pull his scythe from the dead corpse of one of the heroes.
"What happened?"
I ask while walking into the room. I see all the heroes that we had left here are dead and Illestra is gone. Kain sighs from the floor and slowly stands up.
"About a minute ago, they all suddenly freaked out and attacked us. Illestra managed to slip away and he quickly dispatched of them."
Kain mumbles while pointing to Azeroth. I nod, slightly understanding the situation. Azeroth goes and sits down next to Blankk again while I look around the room.
"Where's Warren?"
I ask, Kain looking at Vex's dead body.
"He went to the restroom, I believe. But I'm more concerned for how your fight went."
Kain tilts his head and looks at my hand, which is slowly healing. I shake my head, quickly replying.
"As is, we stand no chance of victory. We have to run again. Doesn't matter where, but I think Vel would be the best bet since that is where the Nexxus is."
Kain places his hand on his sword and looks to Blankk and Azeroth.
"I'm ready whenever everyone else is."
Warren suddenly walks through another door after Kain speaks up.
"Then let's go."
He says, quickly walking passed me and outside the building. Azeroth once again picks up Blankk and looks to me.
He hasn't spoken hardly at all since Blankk died, I wonder how his mental state is?
We all quickly walk out of the building and look to each other. Warren stretches his legs and I feel a strange nervousness roll over me.
"So, Dante, are we running? Or are we going to teleport somewhere? And how do you plan on getting us to Vel?"
Kain asks while staring at me. I look to him and smirk.
"I think we should make our way to the edge of the continent and see what our options are for transportation to Vel."
I hear someone familiar chuckle at my suggestion and we all quickly ready ourselves. We look to the top of the four-story building beside us and see someone standing at the top.
"It's fine, Dante, take your time. Arthur and I will conquer all of Sathric while you're gone. Arthur only came to prove a point, that you are now back to the position you always should have been to him, an insect."
Warren gasps and steps back.
"Arthur is alive?!"
He shouts, clearly just as shocked as I was. I look over and see Azeroth lay Blankk against the wall then ready his scythe.
"Oh, how adorable. You think I'm the real one? No, I'm safely away from the battlefield, this is just a clone I'm speaking through. But honestly you should be thanking me, I convinced Arthur to not hunt you like animals. I proved that rather than killing you, he should show how much stronger he is. I'm sure he still wants to kill you, from the thousand years you imprisoned him in that dungeon. But now, taking over Sathric is our goal. So, please stay away, or else he truly will kill you."
Merlin suddenly collapses and falls from the roof, turning to dust while falling. I feel an odd sense of relief while standing in silence.
"So, we don't need to rush to leave?"
Kain mumbles, clearly confused. Vex suddenly places his hand on my shoulder, causing me to jump slightly. He slowly rolls out of my arms and lands on his feet. His head still hasn't fully healed, but it's still healing. Vex looks to me and sighs slightly.
"Who could've guessed he would be that strong."
Vex rubs his head, instantly healing the wound and looking to everyone.
"We need to hurry. If the Nexxus truly holds as much information as I believe it does, it might give us a hint on how to defeat Arthur."
Vex says clearly. He takes a deep breath and looks to all of us.
"Vel is the middle continent, between the other four. That's what the maps at several of the Hero Association outposts showed. The top left continent is Sathric. Bottom left is Vathric. Middle is Vel. Top right is Mathric. Bottom right on the maps showed Lathric."
Vex sheaths the sword that he's had his grip clamped on and nods.
"Why did you tell us about the other continents? We're only going to Vel, right?"
I ask, Vex sighing slightly.
"Dante, someday you'll learn how dangerous knowledge can be."
Vex says while stretching.
"But, anyways, we need to go to Vel, right? So it helps to know which port we need to go to. The most north-eastern port is the one we want, but I believe they might have a port there for Mathric as well."
I sigh.
"This world is big, really big."
I mumble to myself, Vex laughing slightly.
"Yeah, but Vathric is smaller than Sathric at least, although not by much. But we haven't seen much of Vathric at all, we've only seen parts of one city, this entire continent has cities lined against cities. Unlike the rural scenery of Sathric, it's rare to see untouched nature here."
I sigh, almost bored of all the info from Vex.
"Let's just get to the port, so we can go to Vel."
I grumble, Vex nodding. Warren chuckles and walks to me.
"I remember when I was young and brash, it doesn't last forever."
He says, almost trying to make me feel better. I raise an eyebrow and growl.
"Oh yeah? Do you remember when I asked, because I don't."
Warren raises his hands and steps back.
"Just making a point."
Vex rolls his eyes and quickly pulls us all together. Once again, darkness rises around us.
