We all quickly leave the building on foot, not taking the car to avoid being spotted easier. Evan puts his bag back on and starts acting weird again. He skips down the road and waves at traffic and we quickly pull his hand down. Thankfully the cars didn't see us due to it being night time.
"It's so strange. It's like he's got multiple personalities."
Ven mumbles under his breath. After about 30 minutes of walking, we arrive at Marcus' house. We quickly look down the street and all around, no cops. We all quickly sneak around his house, except Evan who starts walking towards the front door. The rest of us soon reach his back porch and see his door open.
As we slowly enter his house we hear Evan knocking at the front door. We peak in and see a man with short grey hair walking through the house. He starts walking towards the front door, but stops to take a drink out of a coffee cup.
Coffee? At nighttime? Sounds weird to me.
He pulls the door open and stares at Evan.
"Can I help you?"
He asks as Evan waves at us, but Marcus doesn't know that. We all quickly sneak into his house. As a floorboard creaks, we hear Marcus start walking towards us.
"Hey, what the hell!"
He shouts as a loud thud resonates through the thin walls. We all quickly come out and see Evan holding Marcus on the ground, his hand covering his mouth. We all quickly close and lock the door while attempting to tie Marcus down to a chair. He resists heavily, but calms down when Ven pulls out a gun.
"Alright Marcus, let's talk. We want whatever info you have on Maven Gor."
Devon grumbles angrily, Marcus almost shaking his chair.
"Alright, alright, listen! I don't know much. He always came in to drop off a package! I was a middle man. I never opened the packages or peeked in them, I swear!"
Marcus breathes heavily while we all look at each other.
"That was easy."
Alex whispers as Devon shakes his head.
"He's hiding something."
He says quietly, while reaching for a glass Coka Coala bottle.
I'll never understand why it's spelled that way.
Devon looks at the bottle then back to Marcus.
"Now listen, I can tell your hiding something, this is your first opportunity to tell me what it is."
Devon says calmly. Marcus shakes his head in a panic.
"No, no, no, please! I swear on god, on the lord! I swear I don't know anything else!"
Marcus speaks frantically, almost in a full panic. Devon sighs and scratches the back of his head. He puts the bottle on the table and shakes his head.
"I can't interrogate you. But, he can."
He switches places with Evan, who pulls his bag off and picks up the bottle. Once again, Evan's carefree attitude turns to a dark and hateful expression. Evan forces Marcus' jaw and teeth apart and slide the bottle into his mouth. Devon speaks up.
"Last chance. This will hurt a lot if you don't speak up."
I see tears welling up in his eyes, Marcus looking straight at me shaking his head. I see Evan line his knuckles up under Marcus' chin and glare at him. As he starts to punch upward, we hear car doors outside and screeching tired outside. I quickly open the blinds amd see several police cars outside.
"Fuck, the police."
I mumble as Marcus laughs.
"I just had to stall you."
He mumble as we all look to him. He looks to his coffee cup that we set on the table. As we inspect it, we see a small mic on the bottom.
"They were over a block away, waiting for you fuckers to show up."
Marcus says while laughing.
"Fine, let's do it the hard way. Everyn, are they wearing masks or armor?"
Evan asks. I quickly look outside again and see all the officers have on bulletproof vests, but only 1 has a helmet.
"Only one has a helmet, the other five cops only have vests on."
I reply as I look back. I see Evan take both handguns from Ven and inspect them both. He quickly unties Marcus and walks out the back door. Marcus, looking incredibly confused, smiles slightly.
"He left you for dead! He's bartering my life ,and yours, for his!"
Marcus laughs as he quickly runs to the door and flings it open. We all stand in disbelief as we hear Marcus laughing. Several loud gunshots suddenly cause me to jump. It sounds like a firefight outside.
I quickly open the blinds once more and see Evan standing over the officer with the helmet, pointing both handguns at his face.
"No! Please! Have merc-"
2 loud bangs symbolize the end of that officers life. I see Marcus on his knees a few feet from the front door. He seems petrified with fear. Evan quickly walks to him and kicks him onto the ground, then lines his guns up on Marcus' legs.
Evan is obviously being careful, then pulls the trigger. As Marcus screams, Evan covers his mouth and drags him back inside. He walks in holding Marcus and looks at us.
"We need to go back to the warehouse."
He says clearly, dragging Marcus outside and grabbing the keys to one of the cop cars. He pops the trunk and tosses Marcus inside. We all quickly run back and get in yet another police car.
"Evan, how did you get those officers so easily?"
Devon asks as Evan starts the car.
"When Marcus walked pit the front door, the chief told them to hold fire. I had gone around the side on my stomach so they wouldn't see me, since the side of the house was dimly lit. Upon hearing his words, I took down two cops with the first two shots. They panicked amd started shooting in the direction my muzzle flash occured, not realizing yet I was on the ground. Another two shots and then two shots to the chiefs knees. He fell back, I stepped up and finished it."
He says coldly, not even phased by what occured.
Damn, Evan is a scary guy. Glad he's on my team.
