The sky above the ancient forest was thick with smoke, crimson and silver flames danced through trees. Weaker minded animals ran into the blaze, hypnotized by the otherworldly force.
A small pack of wolves, known as the Darklight Guardians, ran nimbly ahead of the reaching flames. The eldest male staying to guard the rear, fending off spears and blades of cold fire as he urged his children onward. Eyes of the deepest blue, with sun bursts of gold ringing his pupils, gleamed with intelligents.
"Run and do not stop until you are clear of the trees." He whispered along their packs mental link, his two daughters and son flicked their ears in acknowledgment.
While his mate growled softly before nipping at him, her eyes a mirror of her mates, save fore the silver ring of fire circling her pupils.
Without a hint of warning she spun around coming to a skidding stop. The silver rings in her eyes shimmering like stars before she threw her head back and howled. Shockwaves of lightning and ice emanated from her, flash freezing the trees in a range of 20 yards before her, along with ten yards into the earth.
"I will not leave you Aleron." She snaped back with a glare at her mate. "Our whole purpose is to fight these fiends, the only reason I've come this far is to give our children a chance to get away. Irena and Era will get Alister away while we are the distraction." Pausing she shoke her head, grind and growled lightly. "Give up, you know you can't change my mind."
Aleron's shimmering gaze shifted from his mates to the flames battling against the lightning enhanced ice. The Golden lightning repeled the flames, yet he new it would not last long.
"As you wish my love, the hope of our race now lays with Ali." Aleron whispers with a sigh. "Time to let go Elora, no more holding back. We will give him as much time as we possibly can."
As his last words faded away, both massive wolves turned back towards the burning center of the forest. Their sharp eyes now able to make out the four figures walking slowly through the trees, the fire licking up their legs and wrapping around their wings, wings covered in skeletal white feathers seeming to repel all light. As his eyes met those of the talest figure, Alerons gaze hardened with hatred.
"Lets see if you have grown strong enough to take me, Le'cin. You've been hunting me for centuries, one way or another it will end this night." He growled darkly and leaped forward, covering the final 6 yards effortlessly.
A storm of deep blue fire and razor sharp shards of ice whirling around him repealed the crimson and silver flames as his forepaws meet the fallen angels chest. A spear of concentrated flames manifested in the air between them, followed by a flash of blinding silver light, as it sheared through Alerons defensive aura and Into his chest. Completely despelling the conjured storm, yet not before ivory fangs tore into Le'cins throat.
At the exact moment Aleron made his move, Elora made hers.
Silver lightning and black ice surged around her, gathering into a maelstrom. The force ripped trees from the ground, adding to the destructive power she released with tears of sorrow in her eyes. She let every drop of power within her go at once.
The very same moment Alerons heart was peirced, hers stopped beating and a cataclysm of lighting and ice came forth, the full force that Elora had summond with the last of her life force.
With an ear splitting cry of hate two of the three fallen angels blur in front of the fourth, walls of crimson and silver flames leapping up before them an instant before the wave of death hit.
The last winged being stood silently not a mark upon her and, no emotion could be seen in her pure white eyes as at the fallens sacrifice.
"Pawns come and go." She said to herself as she kneeled down lifting Aleron's corpse over her shoulder before moving to retrieve Elora's.
While Elora and Aleron fought, their children continued to run. In moments they could no longer sense the battle. Irena, truly her mothers daughter urged her younger siblings on, pure white fur standing out clearly in the dark forest. Alisters smaller form shoke noticeably as anger and sorrow swept through him, his fur black as night save for two silver-white crescents framing his eyes, and midnight blue wing-like markings upon either side.
Era, by far the largest female in centuries, move forward silently. Deep gray fur, sparkling with silver lightning and fire as she prepared to protect her siblings. "It's time Irena. Keep going Ali, keep your head up and never give in. The Darklight Legacy is yours."
Without a word Alister speed up, the distance grew between him and his sisters quickly even before they split to either side and circled back. The forest seemed to open a path before Irena and Era. Even from the edge of the forest, ten miles from his sisters departure, Alister felt the explosion of power as bother Irena and Era clashed with the last of the Fallen in pursuit of them.
Coming to a sudden stop as if he ran into a wall, the young lupin turned his shocked gaze back to the forest, the last encounter didn't even last a handful of heart beats. He knew his sisters combined power could eclipse that of their parents. His presence vanished entirely as he moved back into the shadows, needing to know how a single fallen could terminate his sisters lives so easily.
Trusting his senses, he quickly and silently made his way back into the now eerie forest. Less then an hour later he finds what he sought, the Fallen Angels camp.
Crouched down in the shadows, he watched helplessly as five of the winged freaks begin skinning his family. His eyes settling on the lone female among them, he could see the unique traces of his families magic coming off of her in waves, his eyes temporarily locked onto the bone white chain bracelet she wore, as it noticeably exobed the magic residue left behind by his families sacrifice.
Without a sound, he slipped away once again. Not wishing to see more. The faces and magic signature of the five fallen, imprinted upon his memory.
'This day I am not strong enough, one day I will be.' he swore silently to himself, carving his oath upon his very soul.
In moments, all traces of the youngest Darklight vanished from the ancient forest, and the faint silver-black light eminating from the towering trees faded away. An abyssal aura soon began to eminate from the once peacful forest.
If one watched from the forests edge, they would see a single canine moving away at a steady clip, his stride perfectly even, his aura near suffocating to those that walked the path of true evil. One being did watch as the youngest inheritor of the Darklight Legacy left his home, a single figure hiding within a shimmering golden flame.
"The Night an orphan leaves his home, begins a prophecy as old as Time.
'Twin moons in the sky, wings blacker then night.
The Fallens bane will rise, as an old Era falls.
Your souls shall be bound,
or purified.
Your skills a test for the one the Fallen fear,
the night is no longer yours.
For the Fallens Bane, is on the move.'
