Event Pt.I

Bells were ringing. Tristan was fully rested and regenerated. He quickly took a shower and put on his clothes. The bells were meant to wake up the people. Half an hour after, they rang again. This time it was to gather the people in the dining hall.

Apparently Tristan won't see the others for the rest of the event, because the spectators had other buildings. So he just sat down in an empty corner. To his surprise someone sat across from him. It was the girl from the ride. ‚Why would she be here?', Tristan was a bit confused, because she was the one who told him to stay out of her way.

„... Good morning?", Tristan was the first to talk after a minute of silence.

„I saw you.", she didn't even greet him. Tristan was confused.

„You saw me?", he asked.

„I saw you yesterday.", it was hard to get any information out of her. But then surprisingly she spoke again,

„I saw you in your room.", this confused Tristan even more. Was she a spy?

„Are you stalking me?", Tristan didn't know what she meant.

„I saw you kill the other boy.", she looked at him.

Tristan was surprised. After all he did make sure that no one was on the hallway. And the women should be in another building.

„Why are you telling me this?", he asked.

„The Event hasn't begun yet. So killing is as illegal as it is everywhere else.

„I just want a... let's say favour from you.", she had a little smile on her face.

„That would be?", If the favour wasn't something easy, he would have to get rid of her to.

„It's pretty simple really. I just don't want you to fight. You aren't weak, that's for sure. And you are a skilled fighter. I could see that when you took down the boy. So just don't fight."

„So you want me to not take part in the Event?"

„Exactly! You wouldn't want our little secret to go public would you?", she had a smile on her face, as she thought she won.

„I'll think about it.".

„So what are you two doing here?", suddenly Dillan, J and H sat down next to him.

„I was just about to leave. Don't mind me.", the girl stood up.

„Hey, you can stay, it's ok. After all we don't even know your name!", Dillan was as happy and energetic, as he was in the carriage.

„It's Nina.", with that Nina stood up and walked away.

Start of the event, 9:50 am.

„Welcome everyone! The Event will start in 10 minutes! All of you will get teleported into the arena, where you have 2 minutes to get ready. After that you are allowed to fight. If you fight in these two minutes you are disqualified and you will go to court for harassment. If anybody dies in here, the one who killed the person will also be disqualified and will be facing prison for the rest of your life. But for every knock down you do, you get a bonus, wich can be a healing potion or other boosts. Anyway, now is the last time to step out!"

About twenty people left. The rest was waiting. Tristan was hiding in the crowd, not wanting to be seen by Nina. It was very quiet, because everyone was tensed up.

„Now everyone!

I wish you all luck. Remember, if there are 300 people left, it's over, and you all get to go to the second round. Now good luck and fight fair!"

The announcement was over. Everyone was teleported into the Arena. The arena was a giant area, made up of some hills, a small forest and a field. Tristan was lucky. He started in the forest. He quickly climbed up a tree and looked at the surroundings. He saw some other people walking around. He focused on two persons walking through the forest. It was a boy and a girl. The girl had a staff, she was a mage. Probably a healer, as she hold on tight to her staff and looked around scared. The boy was a swordsman, they looked like siblings. The boy hold his hand tight to his sword. He was trying to act strong, but you could see that he was scared as well. Tristan followed them on the trees and waited for the two minutes to be over.

„The two minutes are now over! You may fight!"

When Tristan wanted to jump down from his current tree, when two men jumped out from behind trees. Tristan watched silently.

„Who do we have here? Are you two lost?", one of the two men said mockingly.

„Stay away from us!", the boy stood in front of his sister.

Tristan climbed down the tree. He sneaked around the group. The two men slowly approached the children, wich didn't move, but started to shake.

Then Tristan walked up behind the two men and knocked them out with two precise aimed hits at the head and neck. They fell to the ground and got teleported away.

„Thank you kind sir! We really appreciate your help!", the boy looked relieved.

Tristan stepped forward.

„Sure thing. I couldn't let those two guys steal my bonus.", Tristan reached out to the boy, who wasn't looking so thankful anymore.

„What? Are you-

Tristan knocked him out to. Then he turned towards the girl. The girl looked back, eyes were tearing up.

„Please! I need to be an adventurer!", Tristan stopped and looked at her, „Please! My village needs it! Someone has to protect the village from the goblins and wild animals! If I don't become an adventurer I can't help them! Please!". Tristan looked her in the eyes.

„What a sad story.", he said.

And then he knocked her out. Shortly after he received two healing potions, one mana potion and one speed potion. He smiled and walked away, looking for more prey.
