Chapter 2
Brown curly hair, thick eye lashes, full lips, round face; all that makes this woman look beautiful, she's wearing some ordinary brown and white dress, in old medieval style. The moment I saw her I knew, I fell in love, love at first sight.
A chorus could be heard, she seems to be surrounded in pure light, as she looks at Ahmed, with chocolate brown eyes, smiling__
"What the fuck are you looking at?" she glares at him with an ugly scowl on her face, seemingly disgusted at something.
Crack!
Huh, did I hear something that sounded like glass breaking.
"Uh…"
"Humph! Always the same old thing! Go into the portal, guide the stupid novices (noobs), and then again, and again! This is pure torture!" she starts growling, anger evident on her face, but she didn't think that was enough, so she kicks a tree with force that cause it to be uprooted and tumbling down on the ground.
Bang!
I made a mental note: never make a stranger angry, especially not at this place.
"W-what is going on here?" I tentatively ask her a question, after she stops venting out her anger, and just sits there, her head in her hands.
She sighs, without looking up, she said, "Haaa, call out status…"
I do as I told, and the watch on my wrist blinks, showing a hologram screen.
"Whoa", there are options to choose from, I open up the profile bar. It has my picture, name, occupation and everything:
Name: Ahmed Baroch
Occupation: student
Unique Skill: Lion heart, Mental Strength
General Skill: Physical (E), Intelligence (E), Agility (F), Endurance (D)
Specialised Class…
Hmm?
I click on the specialised box, and immediately regretted it. I became bombarded of a series of options of various classes, making my eyes go wide.
Oh, Hell no! Why are there so many options to choose from? There are classes for a healer, warrior, assassin, mage, hero, tamer and so on.
Does it expect me to just choose instantly, what if I choose wrong?
"Umm, what's up with this specialised skills?", I couldn't help asking, even as she glowered at me for asking such an obvious question.
"Well, what do you expect? Choose a class you like…" she frowns, as she squint her eyes.
"But, what if I choose the wrong one?" I cautiously ask, hoping she could help me out.
Suddenly, her expression changes, from scowl to wonder, "Really? Is that the first thing you're worried about?"
"Well, aren't I supposed to? I don't know what I'm supposed to do, I suddenly get transported here…" I stop, not because I'm scared, well not this time but her asking me this…. is it not obvious to worry about this, I heard you can't change after you choose a specialised skill…or am I wrong?
She pauses to contemplate, and answers slowly, "…You need to be careful of opting for specialised skill, it's permanent, it is a class after all and you won't be able to change it…if it helps, why don't you opt according to your unique skill, how about that?"
Finally, she forgets about her anger and actually gives me a good advice.
"Can I wait? I don't have to choose right away?"
She nods at my question.
"Yeah, you can wait, now that's out of the way, check your quests; you'll see what you need to do," she gets up from her seat, and observes me closely this time. She walks slowly towards the tree, and leans on it, with her arms crossed. Is she waiting for my reaction or something?
I go back and press on the quest item:
a) Find your way to the village using a map to guide you.
b) Subjugate the village.
c) Fight off the attacker, find out the necessary information about the enemy.
d) Rehabilitate the village.
What the hell?
"Subjugate a village? How am I supposed to do that? I'm only an ordinary, 13 year old brat!" I complain to the woman who haven't even introduced herself. I even self-depreciate myself to prove my point, I am really an ordinary spoiled brat!
"Ha! You're a player! Act like one!", she scoffs at me, but doesn't seem like she's making fun of me.
"What do you mean, that doesn't change anything!"
She shrugs, "So what? You want to go back home?"
"Obviously!" I'm starting to loose my patience, which is not very easy thing for anyone to do, except this annoying woman seem to be doing quite well.
"Then follow the quest, end the game, and you'll be sent back," she has an amused expression on her face. What the…why?
"Am I even…" my mind goes blank. Why?
Because that woman, in front of me, for some reason, she just starts smiling really creepily.
"Interesting…you know what? I was thinking of going off with you and guiding you all the way but…I change my mind…you're on your own kid", she jumps up flawlessly on the thick branch of the tree.
Of course, I panic, "Wait! What! Why?"
"It's always the same boring thing, but you seem different kid, I'll see you at the village…maybe," she giggles at my flabbergasted face, and rushes off like a shadow.
"WH__ WAIT! HEY!" I scream in rage, in a blink of an eye, she was gone in a flash.

The woman's name is Qandeel, her first name has an Arabic origin. It has various meanings such as 'skylight', 'Noor (light), chandelier, but she is drawn upon the 'lantern' as the meaning behind her name, Qandeel. the reason for that is very simple, she's selfish, inconsiderate and only wants to protect herself. None of those words directly consolidates her except the word 'lantern'.
Protecting her light inside the lantern, barely enough to light her way in this dark world, yet it is enough for her to survive and slowly gain power.
I need more points! I can't be stuck looking after some 'noobs'!
She sighs, as she remembers how she got stuck here in the first place. That bastard! I'll get him for sure. She won't be stuck here in punishment forever. This is the last one for sure, she can feel her intuition; any kid who got here, showed either ecstasy, thinking of this as just a game, that would bound to make him or her fail! The other types are those who just start crying in bawls of fit of anger, fear, and anxiety mixed together.
She couldn't help feel hopeful when that kid looked so calm, it was strange at the beginning but now finally she'll be able to get out. As soon as this kid wins this game in one go, I'll be able to leave.
In the mean time, I have to make sure he doesn't die; the rest is up to him. She goes to the opposite direction from Ahmed, procuring any valuable items and weapons around before meeting up at the village.

I put my hands over my face, and take a deep breathe, after a while I calm down and open my status. Didn't that little Sparrow bird say that there'd be a player to guide me?
I go to the description box, and a stream of information makes my heart jump, I quickly get out, and open my profile, going towards the specialized classes. I then click on the warrior to see what I'll find, I turn immediately pale.
What is this?
Ah! That's…I've seen it before…it's a power tree!
I groan.
Oh no! It's those kinds of games I hate the most! Why does it have to be so detailed and complex!
I go back and chose the map, and gasp, this is worse!
The map is also complex, since instead of a simple transit map; it showed the satellite version. How am I supposed to know where I am?
Okay, calm down, it has to show me where I am and the village, at least. I try to understand how to use this hologram and finally, was able to find my location.
I'm in a middle of the forest, the corner of the hologram screen, on the left side, has a compass. I still didn't figure out which village I'm supposed to go but in order to go to any village, I need to go North. The South has dense forest that looks to be deeper if I go South, East is where the mountains are situated, while the West leads towards the ocean.
Thinking for only five minutes, I set off for North, as soon as I took a step, I get a notification.
Are you ready to start your mission? Yes or No?
Huh…I choose yes, and suddenly my watch blinks red. I open it and on the map, it shows my destination. Well, at least I was correct to start going north.
Tsk, that woman, she didn't tell me anything… I move towards the direction of the village. I notice that I'm wearing baggy brown pants; black boots, and…is this a tunic? I'm wearing a black tunic?
"Haaa, it's better than those weird tights I've seen in medieval movies," I shudder just thinking about it.
Well, it can't get worse than this, right? I'm already in the most bizarre situation; it's unlikely to get any worse I'm sure.

Ahmed didn't know that another creature was currently watching him; it's reptilian dark-green eyes observed him. It's labor breathing indicate that it's in pain.
It crawls quietly, although its leg is broken, and it's bleeding everywhere, it knew it has to follow this particular thing. To survive, to live, its instincts were telling him to get help from that human. It can't understand the reason behind it, yet it stuck close to the human who started walking in a slow pace.
It is waiting for the right opportunity to reveal itself.
