Chapter 21-The Great Dragon God Appears

Itachi flew high above the city, however with his sharp vision he spotted something inside the west lake of Hangzhou city. It was a large snake that seemed to be trapped in a large lightning cage which was super tier lightning magic.

Itachi realized this was the totem snake, and it seemed people were attacking. Taking what he knew about it, he figured that they attacked it during its molting period every couple decades otherwise they would stand no chance.

If his guess was right, the city would also probably be attacked by the white magic eagles. Sure enough looking into the distance he noticed the military fort facing the wild and all their eagles they rode on were revolting as they flew towards the distant white magic eagle armies. Itachi looked back towards the trapped snake with a bit of pity.

The totem snake was peaceful and it helped protect the city. If he recalled correctly Tang Yue his ex teacher was a guardian for it. He quickly transformed back and shot down with wind wings landing near the lake side watching the spectacle.

He saw Tang Yue in near tears as she yelled at council man Luo Mian and Zhu Meng. Listening in, he remembered that they had promised Tang Yue who was the guardian that they wouldn't hurt it. They said they were just going to run some tests, but they had secretly prepared to kill it activating super tier lightning magic over it as lightning Javelines ruthlessly shot towards the weakened snake while the lightning cage kept it inside.

He listened a bit to the dialogue

"Shall we attack now?" asked Councilman Zhu Meng impatiently.

The West Fortress was under attacked by a pack of White Magic Eagles, a grave threat to the city. Zhu Meng had no time to waste any further. He had to eliminate the Black Totem Snake to get rid this threat, then hold back the White Magic Falcons.

"Don't, we can't afford to underestimate the Black Totem Snake. If you withdraw the Lightning Punishment Formation, more than half of your men would die in order to kill him. His power is still too much for us to handle even though he is currently going through molting!" Councilman Luo Mian was more familiar with the Black Totem Snake than the others.

Councilman Zhu Meng hesitated. He glanced at the Head of the Royal Guards, Wu Pingjing beside him.

Wu Pingjing said with a nod, "Councilman, we can't rush it. Let's strike after the Lightning Punishment Formation has tortured him a while longer."

Suddenly a report came from the side "It's an emergency! A monarch level creature has appeared near the fortress and we need to go support them or the fortress will fall.

Zhu Meng resolutely said "Take the elite mages back to the fortress. The army of white magic eagles are a bigger threat.

Soon a large portion of the soldiers left while Luo Mian looked at them frustrated they would not help him kill it.

Itachi remembered the real reason they were trying to kill the snake was because they thought it caused a disease, when the real disease came from Luo Mian selling fake blood serums that had ended up making many sick. He was trying to cover his tracks by blaming everything on the snake while he would get away.

Deciding he had heard enough, Itachi moved his hood to cover his face as he leapt up onto the walkway where the mages resided attacking the snake. His voice was quiet yet at the same time everyone heard it as his magically enhanced voice surged with power "Where do you get off attacking the guardian of the city" Itachi said slowly walking over as many different mages turned to face him.

Immediately Luo Mian grew infuriated at this nuisance as he shouted "You better not get involved. This snake is the cause of the recent virus going around the city and it needs to be eliminated"

Itachi looked at him mockingly "Are you sure it's the snake, and not the fake blood serums you sold off that caused the many people to get sick?"

The man immediately paled in fear as he realized this man knew everything about what had happened. "I don't know what you are talking about, but slandering a vice leader of the Hangzhou's magic association is a crime punishable by death. Mages, capture this man.

Immediately over 20 mages rushed over threatening to use magic if he did not comply with their demands. Itachi flexed his fingers a bit, he could use some practice partners for his space element. Immediately he increased gravity over 40 times around him as instantly weak mages collapsed unable to even move since their magic was too weak to fight off the gravity restraints.

"Good, this is how you should act when meeting your superior" Itachi said smirking as he acted a bit cliche basically making them all kneel. Stuttering slightly Luo Mian looked at him in shock at how easy he dispatched over 20 mid and high tier mages like they were nothing "Y-You Space element? Who are you?" He said completely frightened as he began casting high tier lightning magic towards Itachi who teleported away as the destructive high tier lightning magic flew past him scarring the entire walkway black as it struck the ground.

"Not bad, I guess I'll have to show you a few tricks" Immediately his storage space opened as hundreds of spears came out bearing down on the now completely terrified mage. Death faced him down in the form of 100 razor sharp steel points that seemed ready to penetrate any defense he would put up.

Gritting his teeth he immediately casted the strongest earth magic he could as a large portions of earth rose up in between him and Itachi. His faint hopes of surviving were dashed however, when they attacked so fast all he saw was a flash before they shot through the hard rock like it was air instantly turning Luo Mian into a human pincushion. He was flung back with his corpse so disfigured they would have to do a DNA test to confirm his identity in the future.

Seeing this, the few mages still around under his command, immediately ran off in fear while Tang Yue gazed miraculously at man who had rescued her Guardian from a terrible fate. Itachi immediately dispelled the lightning magic formation as he landed next to the creature that looked at him warily yet thankful at the same time.

He gently whispered "I'm going to heal you" as his golden covered hand immediately casted high tier healing magic that washed over the injured tired snake like a rejuvenating light as it immediately relaxed with the comfortable feeling washing over him. With the help of the light, it seemed to instantly finish its molting as it looked stronger and stronger by the second.

Black patterns covering its body slowly disappeared as the beast expanded returning to its normal length a little bit stronger than before since it would get a bit stronger each molt. Itachi reckoned if it was going to reach emperor, it would take a couple hundred years, but that was already very fast considering how difficult it was for a beast to become that rank.

Opening its large pupils it fondly looked at Itachi Licking his face with its snake tongue. Tang Yue immediately ran over bowing gratefully "I don't know who you are, but I thank you for saving my guardian. I am eternally in your debt" she said before trying to take a closer look at who he was. Under the shadowed face, she thought she saw blond hair, but other features were difficult to make out. He also looked quite young although it was hard to guess an age.

"It was my pleasure, just a traveler who happened to chance upon this cities situation. It would be cruel of me to let such a cute little snake die" he said smiling wryly as Tang Yue looked at him with an odd expression "Cute? Little? is this man alright in the head"

Itachi already guessing her thoughts laughed a little 'when you are a large dragon this snake truly does look a bit small compared to himself. "As much as I would like to stick around to chat with such a beautiful lady as yourself, I have somewhere I need to be. See you next time Mrs. Tang Yue" he said before flying off with wind wings.

The brown haired teacher blushed a bit at first hearing him call her beautiful, but she was surprised by his second words. He knows my name? I don't think I have met him before. Space, Healing, wind is a frightening row of abilities and he is most likely a super mage considering how easily he dispatched those goons. I would definitely remember meeting such a strong man. I wonder who he is she thought starring wistfully at the quickly disappearing wind mage.

Shooting over the skies, he saw a large White eagle over 40 meters tall that seemed to command the hundreds of smaller eagles around it. He recalled it was the Silver Skyruler, a monarch ranked beast that was especially terrifying.

The super tier mage Zhu Meng was seen casting super tier fire magic flame prison gates that spewed out powerful fire magic, yet his low level super tier magic seemed weak in front of the powerful monarch who would require a team of super mages working together to even force it back. He struggled on flying around with wind wings as he desperately avoided the blows from the Silver Skyruler.

Itachi couldn't help but admire the mans bravery a bit. While he did attack the totem serpent earlier, there was no questioning that in his mind the most important thing to him was protecting the city even if he was completely outmatched in this fight. There was a powerful magic barrier protecting the city being supplied energy by many mages, but it did not look like it would last much longer under the heavy attacks of many white eagles.

Shooting high into the clouds he was completely covered as he transformed back into a dragon flapping his powerful wings that shot him forward at over ten times his previous speed. He turned around making it look like he approached from the side before he shot out speeding through the sky locked down on the Silver Skyruler. He would have to show it what a true ruler of the sky was.

Zhu Meng gritted his teeth as he desperately avoided the blows of this strong monarch. Their city was completely unprepared for this attack from a monarch. While he was a super tier in both fire and wind magic, they would have little effect on such a powerful monarch. This was less of a fight and more of a once sided beating as he dodged over and over again gaining time for his comrades if nothing else.

He had hoped at first that drawing the attention of the leader would give the others time to fight off the eagles and come to his aide but he was severely disappointed when most of them seemed to turn tail and ran away at the sight of the imposing beasts that were now for the most part slashing against the magic barrier causing the drain to keep up becoming more difficult.

Mentally preparing himself he backed up a great distance as he casted super tier wind magic after a few seconds of build up shooting many wind blades towards the creature who shielded with his powerful wings. Despite a few slashes, it did not seriously injure it at all as it roared in pain dashing towards the exhausted mage. Seeing this he sighed deeply as he continued dodging knowing it was a futile strugle.

'I guess this is where I die' he thought ruefully imagining his widowed wife and two kids being left to fend for themselves in this cruel world. Suddenly, his eyes darted to the left as a large black dot appeared on the horizon. Before he could even get a better look, it darted over at an incomprehensible speed smashing into the Silver Skyruler that was send crashing into the ground with such power that the entire city shook. Cracks formed throughout the earth as humans and monsters alike gazed in fear at the majestic black dragon that seemingly blocked out the sun with its large powerful frame.

The Silver Skyruler shrieked loudly in pain and anger as it pulled itself from the ground with its armor like feathers completely messed up as many had been yanked out in the fall.

Leaping up it flew towards the dragon with its razor sharp claws extended prepared to stab the dragon that had attacked it. The Silver Skyruler was shocked however when its sharp claws that had never failed him were batted away by the dragons scaly clawed hands failing to even scratch it as the dragons own claws came from another angle deeply slashing across the Eagles midsection tearing its feather armor and flesh alike shredding it into ribbons.

It was sent flying away once again blood splashing onto the ground like rain. Crying out in pain it landed on the ground struggling to move as it hatefully glared at the interfering dragon.

The blood quickly poured out creating a pond of blood beneath it as it grew weaker. Before it could do anything, a large amount of elemental energy gathered towards the dragon as the entire dimension seemed to vibrate with the power of this attack. Deep in the dragons through a blue glow appeared shining like a beacon of light as it patiently gathered energy.

The Eagle immediately attempted to escape as it tried to run away growing even weaker with the loss of blood, but the attack seemed to lock onto it giving it no opportunity to escape.

Immediately a bright blue laser of fire shot out similar to the super laser from star wars as it seemed to almost instantly arrive in front of its target while everything around it burned from the heat being emitted. Spectators looked away unable to bear the bright light as the last thing the bird made was a painful cry before it was directly disintegrated. The fire laser shot deep into the ground before exploding causing the entire ground to shake as sections of the wall collapsed from the force.

Gazing at his handiwork Itachi was satisfied with the power behind his magic. Despite it being a monarch, it was no match for Itachi who was basically at the emperor rank in strength. Thinking it could win was like asking a malnourished scrawny 8 year old to win in a fist fight against his 300 pound angry drunk stepfather.

In other words, it was basically child abuse. Itachi stood there for a moment watching the scared gazes of the people along the wall, as the other birds immediately flew off in terror thinking Itachi was going to eat them. He had tried to eat a few animals raw and despite him being a dragon, it tasted nasty. Now he would only eat in human form so he could properly enjoy the wonder that is food.

After all, he would never get fat since magicians especially as strong as Itachi have a crazy high metabolism which is an added bonus although it was not too different in his past life where he struggled to get fat even if he ate like a pig.

He decided to have a bit of fun as he gazed majestically at the people on the wall shocking them as he spoke english "Humans, I am the Great Dragon God Ladon. your little city's desperate struggle caught my benevolent eyes as I decided to aide you"

"I do not ask for worship. I only ask for peace between our races. Farewell citizens of Hangzhou maybe we will meet again one day" he said mysteriously struggling to hold back his laughter at his chunni speech before shooting off into the distance.

Standing on the wall many of the citizens were stunned as realized what had just happened. Suddenly out of nowhere someone shouted "We were saved by the benevolent Dragon God!" which immediately triggered a frenzied chanting of "DRAGON GOD! DRAGON GOD! DRAGON GOD!".

While Itachi had his fun, Unknowingly a new religion was created that day. One that would Itachi would undoubtedly face palm hard if he knew about.

Meanwhile, the completely oblivious Itachi flew far in to the distance where he soon transformed once again when he was out of sight. He shot towards a clearing in the forrest as he figured he could use a little nap. He called a tent from his dimensional space along with a sleeping bag which he cuddled up in relaxing his entire body as he felt at peace.

While he did not need as much sleep since he was filled with magic energy, he was still a bit tired and he could use a little nap. 'I'll visit her later' he lazily thought as he soon drifted off to sleep despite the fact it was only around 6. A man needs his beauty sleep after all if he wants to keep up this handsome appearance he thought narcissistically before his vision soon turned dark.
