Unfortunate End

An Alter magician forcibly opened the wooden gate of the village by casting wind magic. Air circled around the palm of the magician until it became a huge ball of compressed air. The magician then released the ball of compressed air, instantly causing a powerful shockwave that destroyed the wooden gate and some parts of the wall.

The soldiers released the gnashing and salivating rabid dogs from their leash. The dogs rushed over to the village desperately searching for their prey, but they found nothing.

The noble Alter frowned in bewilderment. He then ordered his 15 soldiers to check the houses and buildings. The noble knew that the humans were just hiding in fear which made him smile wickedly.

Once the soldiers entered the village, they checked each and every house near the gate, but they still found nothing. A few moments later, one of the soldiers fell into a deep hole. The yells of the soldier alerted the other soldiers.

Then, something was thrown out of one of the houses near the soldiers. A round black thing that has a smoking fabric coming out of it. It was already too late when they realized that it was a bomb!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Multiple bombs were thrown and exploded beneath the soldiers' feet. Some of them instantly died while others were injured ranging from mild to severe injuries. The dogs were scared off when the bombs exploded, the dog quickly ran towards the dense forest with their tails tucked behind them.

Those who were still alive got shot with an arrow. One by one, the archers appeared on the windows and watchtower and shot every soldier they could see. The magic warriors who used bow and arrows were especially helpful. Not only did they hit them every time, but they also killed all of their targets.

Then, the melee hunters rushed out of the houses to deal with the still fighting Alter soldiers. Even though these soldiers are fairly weak, they can still give some of the hunters a hard time.

Time passed, the hunters hunted all of the soldiers sent to them. Though, they still sustained a couple of casualties and a lot of injuries. The soldiers were tough, so how tough can the knights, magicians, and the noble be? They didn't even want to know.

Suddenly, a loud clapping sound echoed in all directions. "Look at these insects! They put up a good fight!" A smirking 8 foot tall, deathly pale-skinned, black-eyed, pointy-nosed and blond-haired man stood in front of the 10 Alter knights. It was a noble Alter.

"Ahh, I like it when you struggle. You all look like a worm when you sprinkled its body with salt, it's amusing yet...disgusting"

Then, a glowing red arrow flew in the air with great speed. They all thought that the noble would get hit, but they were all wrong. Just before the arrow hit the noble's temple, he caught by stopping it in mid-air. The arrow sizzled for a bit before the noble broke it in half.

"Now, now. Don't be too excited. you'll get your chance...if you can defeat them" The noble chuckled for a bit. "So, entertain me more. Go, my knights!"

All ten Knights dashed forward and hacked at the nearest hunter they could turn to. Bug faced a single knight. The knight was equipped with a two-handed greatsword and a silvery armor with streaks of yellow lines on its surface.

The knight was strong, really strong. Every time the greatsword missed just an inch away from Bug, a gust of wind followed. When the greatsword struck the ground, dust was blown and blocked Bug's view.

After a minute of dodging, NAP finally finished analyzing Bug's opponent. Bug saw a red line appeared horizontally, hitting him on his left side. The green line then told him to duck.

WHOOSH!

Strong winds blew his black hair. Fortunately, the Alter was slow. Before the Alter can recover from his momentum, Bug leaped in a ducking position while his sword arm stretched out. His leap left cracks on the ground. Not even a second later, his thrust reached the armor of the Alter.

He was confident that with the help of his combined strength and agility, he can penetrate the armor. His confidence was not for naught, as his sword penetrated the armor instantly piercing the Alter's stomach. Although it was just the tip of his sword that managed to do that.

But, something else happened. The Alter's armor glowed red! Bug felt a sharp pain on his stomach which made him fall to the ground.

He felt pain on the same part of his body where he stabbed the Alter! The Alter grinned as if he was expecting this to happen. He raised his giant greatsword and performed a powerful downward slash. Fortunately, Bug recovered just before the sword hit him. With his super high agility, he rolled towards the back of the Alter.

BOOM!

Another booming sound was produced when the sword touched the ground. The Alter didn't know this, but Bug is already used to pain! Bug slashed at the red dots where the Alter's unprotected calves were located.

Bug was able to slash multiple times on the different parts of the Knight's body before another red line was directed at his chest. He stepped back over a meter away, effectively evading the horizontal slash. Bug didn't waste time, he lunges again at the knight with a downward thrust to the Knight's shoulder. But before he can even land his attack, the knight simply sidestepped to the right and kicked him after he landed to the ground.

Bug wasn't able to react! He tumbled for a few meters before stopping. He felt some of his ribs broke! Bug knew that he is in a precarious situation now. If he can't regenerate his broken bones fast, he would surely lose to the knight!

The knight rushed at him again with incredible speed. The red line appeared as a downward slash and he evaded it by sidestepping to his left. After the attack plunge to the ground, Bug moved his body with incredible haste as he targeted the red dots that appeared on the Knight's arms and left thigh.

After a few minutes of battle, the knight has already sustained countless wounds all over his body. Bug has a much better condition, though. He only sustained a few broken ribs that are already healing thanks to his extreme regeneration skill.

The knight looked very serious now, compared to his earlier expression. Then, the knight's sword glowed red just like his armor. Bug didn't even want to know what the knight was planning to do. Bug rushed again at the motionless knight. Bug felt something was amiss, red lines didn't appear! But with red lines or not, he needed to finish this fight already!

The knight was holding his glowing sword to his chest with its pointy end directed to the ground. When Bug was close enough, the knight inserted his sword to the ground causing a large explosion!

BOOM!

It was more powerful than the bombs they threw at the soldiers! Red line didn't appear, so Bug was caught off guard. More of his bones broke from the shockwave and large rocks that were flung to his direction. He rolled for at least ten meters from the explosion. His situation is really bad, he can't even lift his left arm because of broken bones. His two legs were fractured, his left leg even had its bone protruding out of his skin!

Unfortunately for bug, the knight seemed to be not affected by the explosion. Even though he was so close to the explosion, he only sustained dents from the rocks that hit his armor!

'How is he not affected!'

Bug gritted his teeth. He crawled on the ground like a worm while the knight was walking up to him. The knight smiled widely as he gazes at his opponent crawling on the ground. He is taking his time like he is just taking a walk in the park.

Bug was beginning to feel his broken arms healing, but not so much for his left leg. He would need at least five more minutes to heal this kind of wound enough for him to stand up. A few seconds later, the knight has already caught up to him.

The knight then stomped on his right leg instantly crushing his bones. "ARGH!" Bug yelled out in pain as the knight kept on stomping on his both legs. The knight seemed to enjoy the cries and agony seen on the human's face!

Bug was sure that the knight was going to deal with his finishing blow, but it didn't happen. Instead, the knight dragged him by his feet. It seems like the knight is going to deliver him to the noble.

When he looked around, he saw the dead bodies of some of the hunters while the others are being dragged just like him! Some of them have missing limbs while others have burned in almost half of their bodies.

Soon, they reached their destination. There were at least 30 hunters lined up in front of the noble and his knights and magicians. Almost all of the hunters were unconscious because of the injuries they sustained.

A magician stepped forward. The magician wore a black robe and was holding a very old looking wooden staff, then he used a spell to wake up the hunters. One by one, the hunters woke up they then felt the pain all over their bodies which made them cry out in pain.

"Ahhh!"

"Help! it hurts!"

"My leg!"

The noble walked back and forth to the lined-up hunters in front of him. He was smiling the whole time as he inspected the seriously injured hunters.

The noble sighed. "Was that all you can do? I was hoping for more...struggling from you insects" He chuckled like a child. "Anyway like I said, I'm going to make you suffer" The noble signaled to one of the magicians to bring out something.

The magician materialized a red box the size of his palm out of thin air. The noble revealed a wide smile as he gazed at the contents of the red box. He seemed very excited like a child that was about to receive a gift.

He signaled to the same magician to reveal what's inside the red box. The hunters winced or were shocked when they saw what was inside the red box. It was a worm, no more than 5 inches in length, its bright red body glowed under the light of the sun, it also has 1-inch spikes all over its body that continuously produce green slimes at its tip.

"This worm is called truth worm. As the name suggests, it makes people tell the truth when it is inside their body. The only downside or should I say the upside is that the process is very painful and...deadly"

The noble said with a wide grin on his face as he gazed to the frightened hunters in front of him. The hunters already accepted how their unfortunate ends would play out. Although they are scared to the bone, they will still hang on until their last breaths were taken by this bastard.

Gazes of anger and resentment were thrown at the noble which he didn't take seriously, instead, it seemed like it just made him happier than ever. It's like he is thriving from the pain and suffering and negative emotions of humans.

His sick mind feels no sympathy for the insects that are humans. Just like any other Alter, trampling on humans is what makes him feel more powerful.

The noble moved to the right and stopped in front of the very first hunter in line. One of the knights forcefully opened the mouth of the hunter. Then, the noble signaled the magician to put the worm on the hunter's mouth.

"Be thankful that you wouldn't witness the suffering of your other fellow humans" The noble said coldly as he stared directly at the angry eyes of the pitiful human.
