01. The dream

Anne stood in mid of the dead city. Suddenly she turned her head around and saw a small child running towards her with a growl. A small grey gown that was ripped in many places was loosely on the dirtiest child she saw for a while.

But as the child came closer she realized her mistake. The child was not dirty. It was old, dry blood.

But as the child got near she saw something that froze the blood in her veins. It was a little girl.

Half of the girl's face was gnawed on and worms settled there. The dead eyes looked at her with greed and suddenly before she could even react, the child jumped towards her with a growl and slammed at the wall right behind her back.

But the little girl just jumped from the floor and tried grabbing and clawing trough her with her long nails. The sound of growls suddenly filled the street and Anne just walked away, or better say floated away.

Looking at a bunch of people that literally rushed towards her with great speed, she just calmly floated towards them and just made them even crazier as they couldn't even touch a bit. Looking up she saw an open window and eyes filled with fear looking down at the crowd.

She slowly floated away and the whole bunch of zombies started following her getting more and more enraged. Slowly more and more and more zombies gathered and started following her.

Suddenly there was a strange sound near her. Looking a bit up she saw small flying thing floating over her head and a deep voice came out if it.

"Who are you? No... better said what are you?"

"I'm human that is in a deep dream. This is a projection of my soul if you understand metaphysics. Can you tell me where am I and what is going on?"

"You are on Earth and it's a Zombie Apocalypse."

"Great..."

Anne looked at the zombies that tried to grab her with their hands bit couldn't and sighed.

"What year is it?

"2030. It's January and there are many things I'd like to ask you personally. Can't you come to me?"

She pointed at the crowd and shook her head.

"I usually have some sort of cause to come to a certain place and time. Maybe this time it's because I should pull zombies outside the settlement. Is there a place where I can bring these creatures to die? I think its time for them."

The voice sighed.

"There is a deep crevice in the earth outside the city. If you can pull most of them there, it would help us immensely."

''Then I'll go through all the streets and gather as many as possible. The louder they are the more will gather. If you can, warn others not to move even a bit away until I'm gone with them."

"I'll do that. Be careful..."

"How foolish, but cute. I can't be harmed, cute that you worry. Go warn others." She waved her hand like he was some annoying bug and started floating around the city.

Two days took her to check most of the streets and as she slowly left the town, millions of zombies followed her. Their eyes became red as they were enraged. But still, there was one positive side. They were just dead people.

No special powers, no jumping or evolved zombies, no scary zombies that turn into something else. Just zombies that were quite fast and strong.

As she neared the deep chasm the small thing again could be heard as it floated towards her.

"My range is quite short. Come back after this."

She stopped and shook her head.

"When I'm done here I'll probably be sent back to my body. I am back in 2020. Maybe I can go and stop this or help more people save themself."

A chuckle came out that flying thing.

"It's impossible. They will stuff you into psychiatry if you start talking about it. Try over internet anonymously. Or talk to people that trust your words."

"And you try to stay alive."

"Me? Does that mean you care about me? Hehehehe."

She just shook her head. Crazy people everywhere. Slowly she again floated towards the deep hole and knew there was no other way than to jump inside.

As she fell down she turned around and saw a stream of bodies falling as well. She closed her eyes and darkness enveloped her while only sounds of growling could be heard following her into it, deeper and deeper.

Suddenly...
