"Will something happen with her? Will she wake up? Please wake up..Please"Irye hears faint whispers.
The voices become a bit clearer as her mind goes back to what had happened.
She recalls Abigail wringing Claude's neck and when she can't bear to see more of that, she sacks herself from unconsciousness
"No!"she yells and wakes up abruptly.
Heaving, she looks around out of fear, still thinking Abigail is around.
"Hey, hey.."Blake makes his way through the family who've gathered around, to Irye. "Look at me... she's gone. Am right here."
The family watch Blake, perplexed on how without a second thought, push them away from Irye just to comfort here.
They can do the job, why does he have to do it. Certain things are left for the family to handle.
Evie looks at the others who are still surprisingly watching Blake hug Irye out of anxiety and giggles.
Hearing a continuous giggle from Evie, the family wake up and look at her.
"What is her problem now?"Gerrard asks, turning to Claude.
"Is this the right time to laugh? It's good she's woken up but she not yet or of the woods. You know the amount of blood she lost."Claude scolds.
"No..I mean yes...I mean I know she's still not alright but I can't help it with how you guys are staring at both of them."Evie says pointing the two with her head.
"It's more like you were glaring at Blake..You could kill him with those eyes"She laughs and by looking at Grams's serious face, she backs down.
"It's okay"Blake comforts, gently brushing Irye's hair with his fingers. Irye tightens the hug, getting hold of Blake shirt and crumpling it unconsciously.
After some minutes, she fully comes to her senses and breaks from the hug.
"You alright now?"Blake asks, just to make sure.
"Yeah."Irye replies, nodding. "Am fine" she tries to stand but a stinging pain pulls her back down.
Irye looks to the spot where she feels the pain and her eyes widen. Her breathing fastens as she slowly recalls why she has that deep cut on her arm.
Abigail was pressing Claude's neck and she was helpless. Not knowing what to do, she turns around to see whether she will find something useful.
Luckily, she finds the knife Blake was holding. Then a thought comes into her head. The knife was rusty but she didn't care and used it to cut her arm.
Because the knife was a bit blunt, it couldn't cut well. So she applies force, making continuous movements with the knife, on her left arm.
Her eyes on Abigail all the while she cuts herself.
Not knowing, she's cut more then she should, a reason being her eagerness to get rid of Abigail and another being because Abigail is nearly killing Claude.
"Argh."she grunts and covers the wound she made for herself. It is after she completely remembers everything that she begins to feel the pain.
"What's wrong darling?"Grams asks and looks at Irye's wound intently. "It hurts a lot right?....Oh look at me asking an obvious question."She shakes her head.
"I tried stopping the blood and wrapping it but since there's no gauze around here, I used one of our cotton clothes."Evie tells Irye. "Does it still hurt a lot? Do you feel dizzy or something?"
Irye shakes her head. "Not of that sort but I feel an extreme pain as if I'm being cut all over again."She complains.
"I understand that."Gerrard comes in. "I experienced the same thing when I got hurt. Your mind was not focused on your body at that time so you didn't feel anything and right after you did what you had to, you fell unconscious."
"So now that you are awake and have recalled everything, it's like it's happening all over again and the pain is all new."Blake adds, looking at his loved one with so much care in his eyes.
"Yeah that."Gerrard simply says. "That's how I felt when I became conscious."
"Since there's no medicine here, you should bear with it for a while whilst we think of something." Mae says and Irye nods.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" Richard calls out, looking around. "Am supposed to meet a Mrs Brown here."
He is in a big compound with a lot of trees. The place is quiet and seem abandoned.
Although the big house is nice and looks new, it also has a feeling of loneliness.
Richard begins to feel uncomfortable with the environment. Making enquires on where Irye could be, he meets Abigail's best friend, Martha.
Martha sits him down and they chat. And in their conversation, Richard finds out about Abigail's past relationship before he married her.
He gets to know about what Abigail did to be cursed by her first mother in-law.
With this, he gets a whiff that all that's happeing may be connected to it, although Abigail is dead.
He plans to go in search of Mrs Brown, the woman who's been claimed to be the one who cursed Abigail and the key point to all that's happening to the McVenus family.
After some time of looking for the well known Brown family, he manages to get in contact with Mrs Brown and they decide to meet at the Brown's mansion.
"Who is it?"An old lady comes out from the house. She stands at the door with her walking stick in her hand and the other hand, holding the knob.
"Am Richard, ma'am"Richard introduces and begins walking closer.
The old lady positions her glasses well and looks closely at the man coming towards her.
"Richard who?"She asks, leaving Richard confused. He stops walking.
They planned to meet there, she actually told him to come there and now she's asking who he is?
"It may be old age, I guess."Richard thinks and shrugs.
"It's me Mrs Brown. The man who called earlier to talk to you about a daughter in-law you once had."He explains.
"Oh?"Mrs Brown remembers. "How could I forget her? When she was the cause for my son's damage and husband's death? I will never forgive her!" her winkled face gives out anger.
Richard freezes. Her son's damage, her husband death? Was Abigail that much of a wicked woman? Was she that much of monster? He married an inhumane woman and tried to make a home with her.
Not knowing what she has done, he loved her and played stubborn even when his mother disagreed with them.
He created this whole mess. He brought upon himself trouble and I unknowingly involved his family.
Now his family is suffering because of it. He is all to blame for what's happening to his family.
Richard just stands there and blames himself, without making any movement as his eyes become teary.
