Chapter 61

"It's coming down...It's all coming down"Evie says in excitement and shock.

Her eyes still on the boundary, marveled on how Blake could think of that, another being relief washing over her.

Blake almost cries tears of joy but mans-up as he goes back to where Irye is.

He passes by Claude who's standing a bit far from the boundary, mouth opened. Wanting to rub it in, Blake pauses, looks at him and scoffs before continuing.

He feels proud to have made the boundary crumble down. What if nothing had happened, then he would be in trouble with Claude's fists.

Grams and Mae also keep their jaws hanging as excitement draws on their faces.

"What made you think of that?"Grams asks handing the baby to Mae.

Blake laughs "I don't know Grams. I guess I was just too desperate thinking I would lose Irye."

Grams stands up and hugs him." Thank you...very much. Thank you."A tear of joy falls from her eyes on Blake's shirt.

"It's nothing..anyone could have done the same in my place."Blake tells her and rubs her back, smiling.

They break from the hug and Blake hurriedly takes Irye into his arms.

"Let's take her out of here....."Blake doesn't finish his sentence when Irye begins to have another seizure.

Her seizures become more and more massive and uncontrollable.

"No...no..not now"Blake mutters to himself as he takes twice his quick steps to the car.

"Gerrard"he calls and Gerrard snaps out of it to help Blake put Irye in the car.

"Hurry we don't whether it will come back up or not, but we must leave before it does."Mae shouts to the others who are still stuck in time.

Claude also snaps out of it and goes to pull his sister, Evie, her eyes on nothing particular.

She would have been looking at the boundary except it's not there anymore. Her eyes are teary. How many times have they tried to break through but to no avail? How many times have they prayed and hoped for the boundary to just vanish?

They suffered a lot behind it and at last, when things have gone critical, it has come down. It was this easy and they couldn't even think of it.

She just can't express the happiness she is feeling at the moment.

Claude pulls her to the car."You sit here"He sits her down.

Irye has been laid on the seat, head on Grams and legs on Evie.

Mae surs at the front with the baby while Blake and Claude sit at the tail of the pick-up.

Gerrard drives out of that place. That place that has brought upon them pain and agony.

"Don't be blaming yourself my child. It was never your fault"Mrs Brown says.

It's getting a bit late and that are chatting.

Richard finds out why Mr Brown died. After Abigail runs away with the contract money, Andy is left to pay the penalty for a breach of the contract at the same time for losing the project.

The Browns' company had invested in the building as well. The money they are to pay can make Andy lose a lot. The company goes bankrupt and Andy loses his sanity.

He worries day and night and with his wounded heart, the thinks and thinks which eventually makes him go crazy. Mr Brown is the family's only hope and as an old man working too hard and also thinking of his only son, his body breaks down and he lays in bed.

After some months of therapy, Andy gets his senses back but by then, his father has been declared dead.

Richard couldn't stop wondering on how wicked Abigail could be. All the while of Mrs Brown narrating her story, Richard can't help but feel ashamed and regretful.

"It's been years and things have been forgotten but I will never forget Abigail's deeds."Mrs Brown states. "I said what i said out of anger. There will be two people in her life who will be her doom. I never meant it as a curse."

Richard widens his eyes. "Really?... You never meant that?

Mrs Brown chuckles "I would never curse her. She did something very bad but karma will deal with her its own way."She pauses to breath.

"I said that because she likes jumping from one man to another so someone or some people will make her stay at one man's side which she doesn't like so much."The old woman continues. "And in her terms, it will be a doom. She would feel itchy having being tied down to one man."

Richard sits back and takes in a deep breath."So it was never a curse. I felt as if that curse could have something doing with my family. It's such a relief."

"I met her months after she run away and told that to her. She must have thought if it as a curse and cause trouble right?"Mrs Brown chuckles.

"I guess so. That's why she abondoned us."Richard replies. "She didn't what anything doing with us."

He sits up and stretches his leg to take out his phone which had been ringing for some minutes.

"A minute ma'am"he stands up and excuses himself.

"Hello?"He says. "Who is this please?"

"Are you Richard McVenus please?"A lady asks on the other line.

"Yes I am. Any problem?"He speaks in a polite tone.

"Am calling to tell you that your daughter has been admitted here and I've been asked to call you for the blood transfusion"The lady responds.

"My daughter?"Richard asks, uncertainly.

"Yes, your daughter, Irye McVenus."The lady replies. "She is here at the moment. You should hurry."

Richard can't control his breath. Happiness writes his face and tears fill his eyes.

"Tell me which hospital you are. Am coming there right now."He walks to Mrs Brown and thanks her, telling her about the news.

After he bids goodbye, he runs with his weak heart to his car, wanting to see his family urgently.
