The instant he said those words her reaction could not be any more clearer. His tone intentionally sounded tired and confident so that he could get the most pure reaction from her. He did not want her to act or hide anything, from his current understanding her eyes were open and blatantly expressed her emotions. So using his tone and words he wanted to prompt a reaction he can analyze through her eyes. Her rebuttal to his words were almost immediate and was spoken through her body language alone.
Even with her face covered he could sense the disgust and recoil emitting from her body. It both pleased him and made him a little irritated to gauge the extent of her rejection. Her eyes that were in a state of shock immediately showed fear of him misunderstanding and grievance from his accusation. The fear made him feel like the scenario was very comedic to watch. She held no fear when boldly fighting him but immediately became scared when he spoke on her feelings towards him. There were many women who dreamed of being paired with him but this mysterious woman in front of him abhorred it.
"Pah pah I have to throw salt behind my back after those ominous words. I beg you not to put such a curse on me, my eyes are still quite good, okay?"
'Your eyes??' He felt like rolling his own eyes hearing such words. He could not disagree however, being with him could be similar to a curse but the benefits were still to be discussed. What he felt like arguing with was her statement on her own eyes. From anyone's perspective she seemed to have no eyes for danger and while being 'sane,' felt considerably mental.
"....if you are looking for such a woman I'm sure the women you left inside is more than willing to accept such a claim. Please stay on topic, we were discussing you and your inability to be creative. Or more my favourite topic, your internal trauma."
'Internal Trauma?' At this point he truly felt like dragging her to a research institute and having her brain cracked open. The connections in her brain must be different from the average civilian and would result in an interesting study at the very least. He knew she was referring to his distaste for women but to compare it to a trauma was quite dramatic. While he was ninety-nine percent sure she was the young miss of a wealthy family he felt like script writer would be a suitable career choice for her. She perfectly imitated a shrew, a gangster bullying someone for money, and now a plot writer with her imaginative speculations.
There was absolute silence between them as they both stared each other down. Calculating the time he had spent on this conversation he realized that it had passed his five minute restriction. While he did not regret it, it would be best that he finished it quickly. The novelty of this conversation and his patience would only last so long. Now that he was in a better mood it was the perfect time to make his exit.
In addition, the hatred in her eyes had lessened from the beginning of their conversation so it seemed that some of her anger had settled. If he were to end it soon she would not stop him but he had a feeling that she would have if it were a couple minutes earlier. He kept his eyes locked on her as he spoke his next words and intentionally added some teasing words. His personality would not let him leave without one last jab at her interest. It was obvious she did not like him but it only mattered what he said.
"For someone who says they do not like me, you have a high interest in my matters. I think its best to be honest with yourself but I do not have the time to entertain this any longer. List what you want or I will take the time I have given you listening to this nonsense as my payment. Even without, as you say 'a creative bone in my body' I will not hesitate to throw you out of here. A threat not need be creative as long as it is done."
Her eyes held the same arrogance as she responded to his comment.
"I think I have stated this multiple times but all I need is 12 million. Did I hold you hostage and make you listen to his conversation? It was a conversation so two parties were involved, I'd rather you not assume that it was only you wasting time. However, I am quite kind. I can see that you do not have the money so I will let this remain a debt until you can pay me back. I need nothing less or more, of course you can chose to ignore me but a debt will remain."
With that she gave him one last look before going back to her bags and attempted to walk away. She held herself as if the conversation was over but he was not someone who would let others finish what he could. He knew her retreat was a strategic decision on her point, despite his reputation he was a man of his words. Holding a debt with him would be more beneficial than money could offer.
Yet he did not like owing favours to mysterious women with questionable sanity. Without an identity or a name he could not let her hold this debt over him - especially since half of her face was covered. As she was passing him he quickly stepped backwards and interrupted her pathway.
"Your name."
