Her heart skipped a beat from the voice behind her and from how near it was. The voice itself was not scary, it was a bright and preppy tone but the suddenness of it all put her off. What were the chances that when she decided to leave is when someone arrived and directly behind her too. Part of her felt like she should visit a temple and have her luck tested out because she attracted many people today. Was this a good luck or a harbinger or doom?
Thankfully her body was still and there were no visible signs that she was shocked. This made it easier to salvage the situation and not embarrass herself. Placing her wealthy mask on she turned around with a smile to greet the preppy voice.
"Hi, I was just looking around."
The woman standing behind her matched the interior of the store quite well and gave off a very "free" feeling. She was slightly shorter than her and wore a thin green dress with turquoise accents. It was a very western styled dress that fit an older time period like the American 80's but still was trendy on her. There were different wooden bangles on her wrist and one crystal necklace resting against her collarbone. Her hair was also free in a loose wave and was a warm brown as it lay on one shoulder. While the woman looked nice and free, she still remained cautious with her. To be confident in such a style in this mall meant that she was no pushover. She never even considered if she was a worker and immediately believed that this was the owner of the store. It was just an aura she gave off that seemed more owner than worker.
The mystery gave a small smile in return as she responded, "did you find what you were looking for?"
'Was this a genuine question or was this sarcastic?' The eyes were too calm for her to read anything and her body was very relaxed. There was a quick debate as she wondered if she should respond honestly or fake that she knew what the store's concept was. As she opened her mouth to respond the woman interrupted her with a small chuckle.
"You have no clue what this store is do you?"
"....no." Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear she held a sheepish expression, "was I that obvious?"
"Yes and this store is a hot mess if you don't know what it is. Most people don't in your defence." The more this woman spoke the friendlier she felt, almost like an older sister joking around. She moved forward to walk past her and enter the open space. Raising her hands she gestured to the place in a showy manner - "this is Angelic Threads." There was a pause as she looked back with irony "quite dramatic isn't it."
"Nooooo.....well a bit. Its not bad though, unless you're next words is that this is your kingdom and you are an angel sent from above."
"Ah but it wouldn't be a lie to say that I was an angel, isn't this face just heavenly?" To emphasize her point she framed her face with her fingers in a cute pose. There was a slight pause between both of them before they broke out into laughter.
"I'll stop pulling your leg, this store is called Angelic threads and we do a couple of things. Obviously there isn't anything standard out for sale because don't sell items like that. We are mainly a couture fashion brand that also offers an experience. Everything is custom ordered and designed and this store is a good set up of the energy we give. I like to give customers a calming environment when they enter the store and steer away any of the form fitting people."
'So I was right!' There was a quick mental victory for guessing that it was a tailor shop, while the store itself made her think differently she was still right.
"Now that I have introduced our store, do I have the favour of knowing your name?"
"My name? Before you give yours or is it that angels keep them a secret?" There was a playful tone to Mei Lin's voice but her eyes held a calculating look.
There was an even louder burst of laughter from the mystery woman after hearing those words. Wiping a figurative tear she responded, "woooh I knew I would like you. Yes this angel has a name, professionally I like to go by Vin. By birth however I am called Ba Dai Yu."
"Precious Black Jade, seems to be the quite opposite of you?"
"See I said the same thing too but alas I've lived with this name too long to change."
"Well nice to meet you Ba Dai Yu, alias Vin. My name is Mei Lin, Shu Mei Lin."
"Kind Plum Jade? Seems like we both jades though yours suits you better."
"So I look like a Plum to you? I was feeling a little purple today....."
"Haha, I meant in the delicate sense but that works too. It is a pleasure to meet you little plum jade. As an angel, I'll just call you little plum fairy from now on. You can't say no to my nickname I don't give it to many people!"
"Its my honour."
"Okay come in, now that we're essentially jade sisters I have to design you an outfit but you are paying for it. I'm not that kind."
The self-proclaimed angel gestured for her to enter the open space as she disappeared into the back. Dragging out two bean bags she plopped both of them in front of her before disappearing again. She reappeared with a laptop, notepad, and pencil before sitting in the bean bag.
"Don't be shy, sit down."
At this point she was too far gone to leave, it was best that she just relaxed and went with the flow. It also matched her purpose since she was interested in buying more clothing. Since this was a tailored custom couture, she could buy it on her credit card without worry. Only stores that did not match the wealthy image did she really have to be secretive with. Fixing her bag onto her lap she sat down into the bean bag chair and sunk into slightly before finding a comfortable position.
"Now what clothes were you looking for?"
