The Beginning of a Journey

Having returned to the counter at the Guild I soon realise that we've run into a small problem.

"Can I see the proof of completion?"

"..."

The three of us remain silent. Normally, for a Guild issued extermination quest I part of the monster needs to be brought back to serve as proof of completion, but we all know where those rabbits all ended up, and it's not the storage compartment.

"Hey, cough it up," Milla says while nudging my stomach.

"Stop hitting me, you know full well that I didn't store them."

"So you three don't have anything to serve as proof of completion?"

While Milla and I are arguing, Lia speaks up, "Sorry, she ate all the rabbits, if we are lucky then maybe we can get her to... well, literally cough them up."

"... Normally we are not supposed to do this, but I don't want to see that happen in front of me and I believe that the Khatun is trustworthy when she says it's done, her track record shows this as well."

With this small issue cleared up, we head over to the stable to fetch the carriage and to begin our trip back. Although, I really want to stick around for the night.

"Do you think we can stay here for one night, there is a little something that I need to take care of here."

"Depends on what that is?"

"That's..."

"She wants to ambush an adventurer that was badmouthing her."

"Hey! Don't tell her and why do you even know that!?"

"I know you have a history of attacking other adventurers for and turning in the material the obtained for gathering quests and while I don't condone it, I do at least understand. But you can't just go around and shank people whenever they talk shit about you."

"You know, I've been thinking about this for a while now, but you really aren't cut out to be a bandit are you, Milla."

"I know right, she really doesn't behave like one."

"Will you two just shut up and get in the damn carriage!"

Under Milla's constant nagging, reluctantly get in the carriage and we ride out from Siriliam and begin our return trip to Mount Dragspear. Much like most of our road trips, the journey is relatively uneventful, with the most exciting thing to happen to be when a bird decided to take a dump on Milla's hand when she stuck it out the window. She even told the Drakes to stop moving and had us go catch it for a snack. And she tells me not to attack the people who get on my nerves, then goes and does this.

After a little over a days time, we arrive back at the base, but my shapeshift ended a couple of hours before we got back so I had gone on ahead with Lia on my back. Since Lia is supposed to come with me to Lausiel, she goes to her room to pack a few things for the trip, coming back with a large military-grade supply bag.

"Why in the world do you have so much stuff? Just what are you taking with you?"

"Nothing much, just a few sets of corrosion resistant clothes I recently made, my makeup and other skincare products. Oh, I think there are a couple of maps as well. So can you put this into your storage?"

"When did you get corrosive resistant clothes?"

"Since we returned from Draelgium, did you not notice that my clothes were perfectly fine when I was sitting on you? Now put this into your storage and when can begin our vacati-- mission."

Swallowing her bag, Lia goes off to settle a couple of lingering affairs and make sure that all of her duties will be covered. Once she finishes and we prepare to leave, Milla returns with the carriage.

"So you two are already leaving for Lausiel. Don't take too long, and at least try not to spend more than a couple of days fooling around sightseeing after you finish. I know what you were planing Lia. Cordelia, don't let her trick you into going sightseeing with her. Make sure to come back as soon as the mission is complete, I don't want to hear a news report saying that a drunken monster wrecked a town in Lausiel. So, Lia, make sure that you hold back her back when it comes to drinking, don't let her go overboard again."

"Jeez, ok, what are you, my mom?"

"She certainly acts more like one than she does a bandit."

"You're not the one people go to whenever you cause problems! now hurry along, and whatever happens, just come back alive."

Jumping onto my back, Lia says, "I've set things up that most of my duties will be covered by some of the other Captains, but you should watch out for any mistakes in the record keeping. Now then, we'll be going now, see you later, Milla."

Saying our goodbyes I begin moving up the mountain, to take a gliding start.

As we move up the mountain, Lia explains where we should go first. "Our first major destination should be the port town on the west coast of Talonia. It's a decently sized town called Zagas, we can stock up on supplies while we are there. Afterwards, we can proceed to Lausiel from Zagas. With your speed we should be able to reach Zagas in a little over a week and from there to reach the shores of Lausiel it takes the fastest ships we have a little over a month and a half, since you are probably at least as fast as them it should take the same amount of time or less if you are faster."

"So head west to a town called zagas then from there we can head to the Lausiel Empire. Sounds easy enough. Now then, I suggest you hold on tight."

As we reach the summit, I immediately jump up and spread my wings while using Air Manipulation to cover more distance than I normally could, marking the beginning of our journey to Lausiel.

"Cordelia wait! You need to land! We're going the wrong way!

"Oops."
