Chapter 19 "Rising"

A few days later, Gerard's death became news that caused a bomb effect in the entire "Diamonds" Kingdom. The heir to one of the most powerful families in the kingdom had been killed. According to Crime Scene Investigations, the murder of Gerard was a human being, and the murder of this person by "Shadow Magic" caused great unease and tension between the kingdoms. No one from the kingdom of "Diamonds" was stupid enough to wage war on the" Vale " Family. "Diamonds" kingdom has started to drawn these suspicions to other kingdoms. Gerard's death could have been the cause of a major civil war between people.

The killer's use of" Shadow Magic " made it even more complicated. This is because this spell is a very rare and evil spell. Only serial killers, mercenaries and special assassins could use such magic. In short, everyone thought," Gerard Vale's death was a planned assassination." That's exactly why Alexander risked killing Gerard. He was sure he wouldn't be suspicious. In the eyes of others, he was a loser, a snob who came to school because of his family. The other two bodies found at the scene were identified as those of Gerard's guards. Apparently, they were also killed in combat. No sign of the other guards and the driver who escaped had been found for several days. So the Royal Guard considered them dead, and then with all the available resources, the death of Gerard Vale was investigated.

There was a tense atmosphere at the "Xayreus" Academy. A student was killed not far from the school. At the Academy "Xayreus", which is considered the best academy ever. He was looking for a grand answer but he was quite relieved to learn that she was just one of the two girls he spared. These make things easier. He didn't have to do any tricks to scare Tia. It was pretty easy for him to scare someone who was already aware of his power. But although this was the case, Alexander did not want to go too far on Tia. He couldn't understand why, but he felt close to her. So he decided to be less scary than usual.

The news of Gerard's death had deeply shaken the "Vale" Family. When Catarina got the news, she felt like she had lost the floor under her feet. She piled on the ground in a moment. It had already been a week since she got the news but Catarina still hadn't woken up. Alfred even thought someone had assassinated her. After all, there were assassins who used" Sleeping Magic" to kill people without even shedding blood. Although these assassins were quite rare so were those who used" Shadow Magic" and considering Gerard, it was not impossible for Catarina to be assassinated. Because of Catarina's condition, the King gave importance to this cause. He couldn't bear to see the woman he loved in this situation. Although he couldn't do anything for Gerard, at least if he could present his killer's head to Catarina, he could make her smile.

The leader of the "Vale" Family, Thomas Vale was still in the same situation after all these years. The only thing that changed was that the amount of drink he drank daily. He was indeed an unlucky man. As if it wasn't enough for the love of his life to die, he couldn't protect the only thing she left for him. Catarina, who did not leave him even in his worst period now had been asleep for days and Gerard, his only surviving son, was no longer in this world. The only thing on his mind these days was;

Then he went to the window, Thomas looked down, and then slowly raised his hand and formed a large pointed section on the floor he was looking at. His room was on the second floor so he certainly would have died when he jumped from here to cross-section but he wanted to guarantee his job. He didn't have a ledge to hang the sheet on the walls of the building, so he created it himself. He slowly tied the sheet to the ledge. And then he put his neck in. He created a cross-section below in case the sheet breaks. If the sheet breaks, it will fall on this cross-section, and then it will die thanks to the cross-section that will pierce it. Now he could finally finish everything. A few drops of tears crept down Thomas ' Cheeks.

-"Soon I'll be there. Santa Maria."he said quietly.

Thomas was about to take a step down, and the door to his room opened slowly. Returning to the door, Thomas ' eyes were blinded by the light he had seen long after. He went down the window using his arms as cover. Everyone should have known not to enter his room. After all, it was the count's own order.

-"...Who?"

At the door stood Antonio, who had lost the muscles he had had over the years, just like Thomas, but still blocked most of the light with his large torso.

-"Hello... Old friend." He said.

Unable to feel any more force in his legs, Thomas slowly fell to the ground. A few drops of tears running down his cheeks were the only sound source in the room.
