The Big Reveal

About a hundred rows of teenagers aged 13 whispered excitedly in the crowded gymnasium. An army of parents looked on expectantly to the front stage as a middle-aged man donning a sleek starry three-piece suit and sporting a huge handlebar mustache on his handsome face walked on.

"QUIET" he calmly spoke. Although he wasn't shouting, his voice reverbed throughout the venue, shutting everyone up.

"Welcome 200th Class, today is the day the last 3 years has been leading up to, your graduation from District 33 Central Primary!"

"As the most prestigious Primary school in this district, you were taught by our most knowledgable teachers and the greatest resources to lay down the foundation from which you will soar! Our world is a world of mana, and as you know your innate mana crystal will decide your specialty. However! Do not be worried about what you are revealed to possess. Your future is to be decided by you, not solely your innate crystal. Even the weakest crystal can catch up with truly hard work."

Many students started to giggle. It was well known that the size and type of innate crystal you had truly did dictate your entire future potential. There were ten possible attunements are possible with the basic four elements Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water being the most common ones. Out of all of them, the Generic attunement, which really wasn't attuned to anything was quite rare, however, it is considered useless to the lack of any advantages, which would cause one to eventually fall behind everyone else in the journey to developing oneself as a Wizard.

"You all were chosen due to your outstanding qualities whether it is intelligence, creativity, physical abilities, etcetera, which are an indicator of your large innate crystals. This gives you a substantial headstart in front of everyone else. DO NOT WASTE THIS OPPORTUNITY! Put all your attention and hard work into learning and developing mana and you will become the important people we need in the future."

After saying this he shifted his piercing eyes to a boy in the front row.

The tall lean boy with hazel eyes stared back at the man, not even blinking under his domineering aura.

'Hmm, this must be Jayden Hart, one of our headstrong prodigies with outstanding potential. I'm looking forward to his revealing. If he possesses a powerful or unique innate crystal I'll be sure to inform headmistress Ivy about him.'

"Now LET THE CEREMONY BEGIN!!"

The venue suddenly erupted with loud thundering claps as the left half of the venue consisting entirely of female students stood-up and one by one walked up on stage to have their innate crystal revealed as it was customary to always let the girls go first.

The majority of the girls were shown to have one of the basic four elements with a few even having light and dark elements. One thing common among all of them was the size of their innate crystal which was always large. The size of innate crystals is scaled 1-10 with most of their sizes consisting of between 2-3. As a user continues to use mana, their innate crystal grows.

Soon it was particular girls turn to go onstage. She was the most artistically gifted student in the school, with her art always invoking intense emotions from those who see it.

She got up on stage and placed her hand on one end of a large rectangular object that looked like glowing marble. As her hand touched it, it glowed even brighter. The man with the starry suit had his hand on the other side of the marble-like object when suddenly his eyes widened and he nodded. He quickly turned to the venue and announced "Grade 3, Space Attunement".

Pin drop silence enveloped the venue as both the students, teachers, and parents were shocked. Space attunement was the rarest type of attunement alongside Time. They hold incredible power and when trained well, can become unstoppable.

"Thank you Sir Forwick," she said and quietly went back and sat down.

Sir Forwick suddenly cleared his throat to gain everybody's attention and continued.

'Space how lucky, I hope I can get it as well' Jayden thought. He was chosen from one of the poorer areas of the district due to his outstanding memory and intelligence. As he couldn't afford the tuition, he was granted a scholarship that he relied on to do anything in school. He worked incredibly hard during the three years to prove his work and gain admission to District 13 Central Highschool, the most prominent gateway to the world of mana.

Soon it was the boys turn to go and his turn eventually came up. He confidently walked up on stage and placed his hand on the object. Like usual the object glowed, however, Sir Forwick's expression soured. Immediately Jayden understood he must have gotten a low grade.

'Dammit, I can't believe all this time I had a grade one. This will definitely slow down my plans for getting into district 13 Central High, but I'm sure if I work hard enough I can catch up!'

Sir Forwick's next words confirmed his thoughts.

"Grade 1"

There were a few other grade ones previously so it wasn't anything outlandish, however, his next works came as a shock to everyone.

"Attunement: None"

'I'M A GENERIC???'
