I'm not ashamed to say that I snuck a glimpse of Leith's backside before he shifted into a golden brown wolf that hit the ground in a vigorous sprint. The powerful strokes of the werewolves around us creates a tunnel of wind that pushes my hair in my face for a moment before I brush it away.
I long to join them, to let my wolf and myself feel a taste of freedom that we have so far been denied. Knowing that Teo is willing to stand by my side while her friends partake in the Trcati does make me feel a little guilty, but I also feel lucky to have her with me.
Growls and howls ring out through the forest, sounding more distant as the seconds pass by. When only a few lone wolves are left, I turn to Teo with a smile.
"That was unexpected," I tell her with a shake of my head. "Enlightening, though."
"Hmm how so?" she asks, her gaze flickering back to where her friends disappeared in the forest a few moments ago.
