Robin's mother grabbed the pastry from out of her hands and threw it in the bin. Robin was about to complain about having the first thing she'd ever loved snatched out of her hands so heartlessly when a tall man entered the room.
Robins caught the piercing blue eyes and her heart skipped a beat. For as rotten as he was on the inside he was flawless on the outside. He was wearing a soft blue shirt under a perfectly fitting grey suit. His hair was framing his soft face, and with his perfect jawline, he looked almost godly.
"Mrs Giggs thank you so much for the invite," Mr Caldwell said a cold smile spreading over his face.
Robin glowered at her mother, she couldn't believe her own mother sold her out!
"Well after Robin said you invited her...' Robins mother waffled on, Mr Caldwell shot Robin an icy stare, Robin felt her spin shiver 'to the estate, I didn't see a better time than today, she would only be bored here!'
'But mum, I'll be fine here I haven't even seen dad yet' Robin began her eyes pleading with her mother.
"Robin how rude of you, Mr Caldwell has invited you to his private home, now stop playing around and accept this gentleman's proposal, you'll be able to see your father when you get back"
Robin looked between her mother and Mr Caldwell she knew there was nothing she could do, would her mum listen to reason and understand this man terrified her? Judging by just how much Mr Caldwells Presence was making Mrs Giggs blush Robin guessed the answer was no.
'I'll go to his house explain kindly that I'm not interested, then hopefully leave this whole mess behind me' Thought Robin.
"Thank you I would be please to visit," Robin answered bowing her head slightly.
"Perfect!" Mr Caldwell gave Robin a chilly smile, as he took her arm in his hand. Robins mother squealed with excitement. She was so proud of her daughter, she always knew that Robin was a special girl but to land such a catch, it was just too much. Mr Calwell gave a man with a moustache a look and he stepped forward to Miss Giggs.
"Mr Caldwell wanted to express his gratitude for you and your daughter being so welcoming," the man held out an exquisitely wrapped gift bag, "he hopes the contents of the bag will be enough to thank you for the trouble."
"It's no trouble Mr Caldwell, you really don't have to anything its such a pleasure having you here.." began Mrs Giggs, but the gentleman shoved the bag into her hands.
"We must be leaving now, Mrs Giggs thank you so much for your hospitality but I have many plans for Robin and me today"
"Of course, of course," Robins mother hurriedly opened the door, and Mr Caldwell lead Robin outside to his luxury black car, the windows where darkened so Robin couldn't see inside. Robin stood awkwardly outside the car, wondering if she had just made the biggest mistake of her life.
"Get in" Mr Caldwell commanded under his breath, as he tightened his grasp on Robin's arm Robin slid into the back of the vehicle.
